Diana, Princess of Wales visited Mother Teresa in a hospital in the Bronx, New York. Some reports say the 86-year-old Mother Teresa is seriously ill, but she walked outside with the Princess, waved to well-wishers and kissed a baby. She had heart surgery three times last year, and has lung and kidney problems. But she was able to walk outside with the Princess, to meet wellwishers and the media. Mother Teresa looked frail, but managed a wave.

In an historic act of charity, Diana, Princess of Wales, is giving away 79 of her dresses all of which will go under the hammer at a charity auction at Christie's in New York on June 25. Proceeds for the fund raiser will benefit cancer and AIDS sufferers both in the United States and the United Kingdom. Twenty of those dresses have already made it to New York. Christie's auctioneers will conduct the sale on a non-profit basis on behalf of the Royal Marsden Hospital Cancer Fund and the AIDS Crisis Trust. The proceeds from the event will benefit associated American and British charities to relieve suffering from cancer and AIDS. Diana's dresses were made by British designers between 1981 and 1996, and include creations by Catherine Walker, Victor Edelstein and the Emanuels.

Mtr Teresa was a small person who did big things! It's possible she didn't want paparazzi invading the hospital. It was much easier to escape them when they're kept outside.
She had made a deal w God that w every photo taken a soul would be removed from purgatory & sent to heaven. I read somewhere that she told one photographer he'd surely gotten close to clearing out purgatory!
She definitely was God's pencil. & her insight told her she'd be able to do so much more from heaven. I have no doubt that she's hard at work keeping that promise. 😺😻😷

Look how gently the Princess holds Mother Teresa's hand to help her down the stairs, how she graciously lowers her head to converse on eye level, how respectfully she takes the hands of the nuns for a handshake, how natural and caring her body language is. What I know about mother Teresa is that the Catholic Church wanted to make her a saint and the Catholic church does not usually make anyone a saint unless it has something to do with their contributions in life and it usually meant helping others.

I photographed Mother Teresa in Dublin circa 1990, she spoke the simple eloquence of love. I photographed Diana on her way into a charity function at the Palladium Theatre in London, she exuded pure charisma. Each in their own way, were called upon to lead by example.
