@Gobba Goo BBQ I am sorry, but looking forward to your next video. I did pull the trigger on the Oklahoma Joe, in part because of your videos. Thanks for the great content.
Dont know if someone already mentioned it. But I had the same problem with their thermometer until I calibrated it with boiling water. Now its about 15-20° hotter on the OK JOE thermometer compared to digital one. Which is expected because its on top I suppose.🤷🏻♂️
I just bought a tabletop grill and that is the reason I did not buy this model, all that messing around and you end up screwing up your meat. I don't know what kind of quality it is but I bought the Royal gourmet grill that you can put more coals in by opening a door and not have to worry about messing around with the meat. Hopefully it will last a couple years.
I’ve had the Rambler for 3.5 years and in the pacific north west weather conditions and has help up extremely well. I just did a 3 year review in it as well. I do wish it had the front door like you mentioned and also the Judge has. But overall it is very well built. Thanks for watching!
Currently have a 30” gas grill, been dying to get into the charcoal grill/smoker game. Between rambler or judge which would you suggest? I don’t plan on being portable, and host a decent amount of people for dinners every other month. I’m leaning towards the judge for the fact of having more space to do multiple items smoked. The drum is too intense for what I’m aiming for
Great vid as usual,I bought this same grill last month because of your vids with it,I have only used it three times, had ten teeth pulled to get partial dentures, and then a total knee replacement so I can't enjoy cooking much yet, really looking forward to gettin busy with grilling on it,next I want the judge set up,keep up the great vids and tips !!!
Thank you Swampy! Man you have had some rough days. I hope you heal well my friend. Let me know what you’d like to see me cook next. And I love the judge.
Man so sorry that half fell down. I bought my rambler about a month ago, I love it! I love it so much I’m thinking of selling my pellet grill and get a bigger charcoal grill
I'm debating on getting this. I want to dip my toes in smoking and I work out of a work truck most of my time and this looks perfect for that. Remember 2 is 1 🥴
300 is way too hot to create good smoke thus why you barely had a smoke ring and they actually looked rather dry. Your initial charcoal fire was WAY too hot. You should have lit 10-12 coals to give you a low and slow cook. 2.5 hours is way too fast, you missed a lot of goodness by rushing this and cooking so hot, IMHO
i am new to the smokers. im confused about how you smoked with tin foil. did you mean 2 hours of regular cook time, then 2 more hours wrapped in foil. if u see thx for reply. very interested in everyone’s knowledge thx
Hi Kristina - Yes he did 2 hours in the smoker unwrapped. Then after that wrap in foil for 2 hours. That helps tenderize the meat and speeds up cooking time.
If this was my video, it would've never seen the light of day 🤣 You a real one for showing what happens sometimes. Sometimes you make mistakes 😅
Haha yea just keeping it real! Thanks for watching man.
He either bought all new shit or this dude is my hero when it comes to grill maintenance.
It’s all new shit 😂
Thanks for the great video! Sorry for the man down! My heart stopped when the half rack was lost. My thoughts and prayers are with him!
Haha Thanks Fozzie! Yea what a shame, right?

I’m excited for you Fozzie! Good times ahead! Thanks for your support.
I'm seriously considering buying this one. I have a small balcony at my apartment.
Your location is perfect for it as long as mgmt allows charcoal grills at your complex. I hope you get it so keep me posted.
Im getting this OMG MAN DOWN 😂
Haha thank you for watching! Glad you enjoyed.

Thanks for posting that! I'll give it a shot.
80° difference between your ink bird and the grills gauge?
Yes. The dome temp is typically much higher than grate temps. Eventually the heat will balance out. Great question and thanks for watching!
@@GobbaGooBBQso the grill gauge isn't accurate?
@supadupa6891 it’s accurate. But it’s readings will always be different than grate level temps.
@@supadupa6891The probes are in different places. The dome probe is higher, obviously, but also much closer to the fire. Almost over it.
@@GobbaGooBBQ ok so the grill gauge is more like the measurement of the internal heat like an oven gauge would do?

How did the charcoal holder fit in grill did u do any modifications so it would fit
Hey there Paula! I explain how I did it in this quick video. ua-cam.com/video/nR4ubhuCQ8c/v-deo.html Let me know if you still have questions.
What is that tray holder for the charcoal I want it
It’s actually a modified weber charcoal basket that I bent to fit into the Rambler.
@@GobbaGooBBQI’m sorry I mean that thing you added your charcoal too it was a basket was it from Amazon?
@@Deon0026yickadee Yea that’s a bent to fit Weber charcoal basket. It works very well.
@@GobbaGooBBQ I will do the same I loved how it stay in place
That’s great!
How many grills you got
I have 13 now. 👍🏻

100% go for the Judge. You’ll have zero regrets, give that you host, want space, and not concerned about portability.
@@GobbaGooBBQ perfect thank you!!

Great video! I bought a Rambler about three weeks ago, sealed it up with Oklahoma Joe's grill gasket. I'm loving it so far!
Hell yea Brandon! It’s a great little grill. Thanks for watching!
These ribs look ace my friend 🔥🎉👍
Thank you! I appreciate that.
Man so sorry that half fell down. I bought my rambler about a month ago, I love it! I love it so much I’m thinking of selling my pellet grill and get a bigger charcoal grill
Haha thank you. Yea dump that pellet grill and get the Judge. If you love the Rambler you’ll go nuts over the Judge. Thanks for watching!
Looks practical. I have a 14" weber smokey mountain i used for work. But this one looks easier to travel with.
@@JaliscoMe this works great for travel except for the 50lbs it weighs 😉
@@JaliscoMe I took the rambler fishing a couple weeks back. Man it was great to use! Cooked some awesome pork chops by the water.
What brand charcoal tray holder is that? Would like to pick one up for my Joe...
That’s the Weber baskets that come with a kettle. You can pick em up for 20 bucks at home depot etc. Thanks for watching Robert!
Was your side vent open or closed for the duration of the cook?
Cheers
It was open about 1/4 the whole time. Adjusted as necessary to maintain temp. Cheers!
What kind of cart you using to prop the Rambler on?
I have this cart. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01HJATSC4?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

You should get it. It’s well built and easy to use as a smoker. And thanks for the reminder 😁

You’re correct with everything you stated. However I was not looking to smoke at 225. No time for that on this cook, got hungry kids.
I know you weren't even feeding 1 person with what was left 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@jaugernot hahahah
I do 2 hours thin rap in aluminum foil for 2 more hours, a man with no teeth can eat my ribs

akorn jr or rambler.
Rambler.. Due to cost and versatility. Thanks for watching!
If you keep cutting the ribs on the grill you gonna end with nothing.
Yea I gotta break that habit, due to laziness.
