Before Huggy first starts chasing you he's actaully stalking you through the factory, I didn't notice this before seeing Jacksepticeye playthrough, but you will spot glimpses of him staring before dissapearing. Very nice detail indeed.
Exactly. Like the one spot right before you get the red hand where Huggy is watching through one of the metal doors. It's creepy and hard to notice if you aren't looking for it, and it's great.

11:15 she accuses you of cheating because she rigged the game by destroying the exit for statues and since you broke through the observation window she counts that as cheating
Yeah I replayed through the 3 chapters on PlayStation recently and the controls get weird in the 3rd chapter. The game is definitely more fun on a mouse and keyboard.
It’s funny how most of the issues Ferret is experiencing gameplay wise is because he’s on a controller with low sensitivity 😭😭 I’ve never seen anyone struggle with the controls and puzzles as much as him
The reason for the control changes are because all the chapters were handled by different porting teams so they could all come out on the same day. The first one was handled by mob entertainment directly, but they outsourced the next ones to different studios to port them
You made a pretty good video! Loved the critiques on design aspects like controls and guiding the payer. Here are some thoughts I had while watching: 7:40 Not quite. There were no families, those kids were all orphans. 12:42 Those arrows didn't used to be there. I think this comes down to "people don't tend to look up", so they added them later. 13:20 It likely wasn't meant to be that difficult, as this game was designed with keyboard and mouse in mind, so slow camera turning wasn't something they probably thought about. Honestly, it seems like a fair amount of your problems control-wise came from you playing a console port of what was initially a PC game. NO idea why they changed some stuff in chapter 3, but I'm pretty sure that's port-exclusive too.
19:48 At least Bendy has an excuse for it. The cartoon studio ISN’T the real world, so doesn’t have to follow its rules. You could say that the Cycle runs on cartoon logic. The others, though… yeah there’s really no excuse lol.
Bro that doesn’t effect the game at all it’s a GAME not real life that doesn’t affect the gameplay at all and no not the looks because it doesn’t need to be real because it’s fictional
@ No… I mean, in the context of Bendy’s story. There’s the real world and the Cycle. There are two separate dimensions in the Bendy games. So the animation studio having unrealistic elements to it-like the city mentioned-is actually explained in universe.
@Barks-h7r Depends on what you're going for. If you want it to seem like it's a real world and not something cartoonish, then you'd want mechanics, setting, etc to be at least somewhat realistic
Honestly I think the control issues for Chapter 3 are just a controller problem. Sure it’s a problem that should be addressed and fixed, but as someone who played on pc the way it’s set up there was extremely fluid
Most of the issues in the third chapter were mostly due to the console port’s controls being a little janky. I’ve played through the game multiple times on pc but when I replayed it on console chapter 3 was a struggle to get through. The game was definitely designed for mouse and keyboard as aiming and movement is easier and gives a bit more for error.
18:56 I have experience with gaming and stuff, essentially what there doing is loading in new areas whilst also destroying the old areas you've traversed, it helps A LOT in terms of performance and all that i have also wondered on why horror games on Roblox have you literally teleporting to different places once your in a new section, turns out its to prevent people from lagging because having the entire chapter in 1 game is basically just a massive lagfest
21:00 I think the problem with the controls, especially in ch 3, is that the game isn't made for consoles and they really did a lousy work with porting it over to them and making it controller friendly, because as a keyboard and mouse player, the controls seemed fine, didn't have any issues with it.
29:14 in this segment, there is no cue to do anything, and it looks like a cutscene. If you just happen to sit back to watch the cutscene, thinking your work is over, it won't fire, catnap kills you, and you have to do the ENTIRE boss fight again. It's gotten more than a few people.
13:27 to be fair, all of this was designed for and tested on pc. Consoles were and afterthought, which explains the difficulty and the arrows. If youre on console, you cant look around as fast for your path
I'm convinced no more than 20% of the actual players are under 14. The majority of players are over 18 & most kids who claim to like it or be fans, are just watching their fav UA-camrs play...
Yea. I agree. Poppy Playtime is a gruesome, violent game that may have originally been intended for kids, but has evolved in to a mature, bloody, terrifying game.
I've only played chapter 1 so gameplay wise I have no opinion, but I know a lot about the lore and it is certainly not a clone. I love the lore; that the the place was intended to be just a simple toy factory and orphanage, before becoming the site for experimentation on those orphans. How the experiments finally rebelled against their creators but also the innocent in a gruesome massacre and seeing the aftermath; a place where only the strongest survive and the prototype is in control and we need to stop it. But also the emerging threat of the one who started this whole mess, reborn
I’ve noticed a lot of indie projects get accused of having a predominantly child audience (even if it’s CLEARLY aimed at an older audience due to things like horror or swearing) and it’s almost always phrased like a dig. I’m always like “dude where are you getting your data? How the hell can you know the metrics of an audience?” It’s ALWAYS indie projects. Meanwhile projects that go through mainstream industry seem to always garner a reputation of being “surprisingly mature and complex” and cultivating a large adult audience. I can’t help feeling like some of that fire is fuelled by an industry that doesn’t want to give up their chokehold and let independent creators operate outside their control. BUT THATS JUST A THEORY. *A GAME THEORY*
Oh my god, the purpose of interesting or engaging loading screens is to give the game time to actually load something and not make it so tedious. The fact that the game only starts loading after the cryptic messages had disappeared is a game design issue.
The DogDay sequence where the little freaks crawl into him actually almost made me vomit. It's horrifying, one of my worst fears (extremely unlikely to happen, but I hate the concept). And I deal with actual corpses. This is worse.
Yea I agree about the controls being a bit wacky when jumping from previous chapters to chapter 3. I believe it mainly had the keyboard and mouse in mind and didn't put much thought into the controller side of things.
12:38 Yeah, the original version of this chapter didn't have arrows pointing up, and almost EVERYONE who streamed this game died at this point. Sometimes taking 2 or 3 tries. So yeah, the arrows seemed to be necessary for this part. 😅
I am starting to wonder if he forgot the turn the Sensitivity up for chapter 3 cause it helps a bit better then what he was playing on. P.S. the Wak-a-wuggy game is actually faster on PC they purposely make it easy on console
Virtually everyone has high-fived Huggy. At this point, I think the devs should sneak a mechanic into the game that does something based off if you either high-fived or ignored Huggy in the beginning.
0:02 “Brand new headliner”? Brother, this game has been trending since Chapter 1! Ever trailer since has gotten millions of views. Chapter 3 did amazing and chapter 4 is going to do better. This game has been trending for a very long time! You disappoint me Ferret, you’re grounded.
I actually used to hate it because of the absurd amount of brainrot tied to it but when my sister introduced me to daz games I watched him play it and it was good. Just started on it yesterday and I’m already almost done with the second installment.
The person we see on the first VHS tape is a UA-camr known as Xycron. They use to be a Gmod UA-camr, nowadays they just upload on social media and do small and big voice rolls in games and animations. With animators such as Piemations.
No matter how I'm used to all the jump scares... (Example: Fnaf, Bendy, and other scary games from the good years) Poppy Playtime always manages to scare the hell out of me and makes me feel like one of the bosses and/or monsters is gonna rip off one of my body parts or my insides. But again, I really like the game and it's lore, no matter how it scares me all over again... 24:28 Also not only Poppy Playtime does the same thing of the "Monster moves when you're not looking" thing. But did the same when Monty lost his lower body and did it exactly on DogDay as well 25:54
3:23 I feel like a nerd saying this but the grab pack was not for the children there it was for The employees which is why the grab pack can conduct electricity (yes I know about the bunzo minigame)
I remember not so long after the game came out, I saw a kid coming out of a bus with Huggy wuggy. A little doll, with teeth and all. I just wondered if the kid knew where it was from
3:04 Genuine question, has anyone played the game *without* giving Huggy a high five? This isn't coming from a place of anything even vaguely resembling judgement, I'm just intrigued and delighted by the fact that, it seems, every single player, completely independent of one another, has given him the high five
I actually had the opposite feeling with chapter 3, the control difference on ps5 only took a few minutes for me to readjust and the pattern of doing puzzles, learning lore, and encountering a monster was actually pretty fun for me. I kinda liked the gist of it, especially with the monsters being so interesting like miss delight
@NooneImportant-u7y no it doesn't watch the latest trailer they drop it shows at the end it's coming on the 30th which is gonna be chapter threes 1 year anniversary
After watching your videos I think that you need to change your controller sensitivity. It will allow you to move the camera more easily and should make the game a lot easier to play When it comes to the chase scenes
Can’t wait for Chapter 4 of Poppy playtime. Except the Fan animation of this series is totally content farm brain rot. Like too many Smiling Creatures animation is totally melt my brain.
I've actually seen a good amount of channels utilize them in fun and kinda wholesome ways so it's not all bad like Gemstone producions, INUbis, ElisCZ, Rinkoree, Calyphari, Fera animations, shyl STEVE, Radowl, MotyaGamesTV, Zissy, RizadoGames, Aquarose, Alien_bogosbinted, and Jamine-Aki_ Artz. These are all talented people who care for this franchise and don't use weird bait to get clicks, I highly recommend checking all these people out on their Poppy Playtime content plus more cause they are worth a look
If i could ride the coattails of your 'Too much fluff between gameplay'' rant, Metal Gear Solid 5 was the same way for me. Finishing a mission to start a new mission meant you had to Call for extraction> Wait for copter> Get in copter> Wait for copter to leave the completely quiet extraction zone> Results screen 1 > 2> 3> 4> 5> 6> 7> Skip cutscene> arrive at base> Call for pick up> Wait for chopper> Get in> Wait for chopper to leave your home base> Mission Prep Screen> Confirm> wait for chopper to fly to drop off point> Jump out> And then finally travel for another 2 minutes to the actual site of the mission to begin scouting the area. I get there's an atmosphere you're trying to make, but also; I WANT TO PLAY THE GAME!
It’s probably frustrating because you’re on controller. The game was meant for KBM. it came on KBM first and later to the console once the game grew in popularity. For example, the problem u were having with the purple wouldn’t be as frustrating or no frustration on KBM. So u will get a much better experience on KBM. Hope this will make you think better on this game.
I absolutely love Poppy Playtime! Not just for the gameplay, but for the LORE itself! A factory that makes crazy toys, an orphanage underneath, and toy monsters built from science! The lore just gets deeper and deeper, literally!
19:08 there's various loading screens because the map is way too big, and it would cause a significant amount of lag if all assets and events loaded without some unloading.
3:23 Not to be nitpicky but the GrabPack isn't a kids toy. All the employees of Playtime Co get one and no kids get any unless they are playing Wack-A-Wuggy. Just to clarify!
Half of the complaints ferret has are that the console controls are bad. His complaints for a game ment for pc are that controlers arent nicely compatable Edit: 27:10 guys i think he might have a vision problem
I had much criticism to say about your own criteria, but i can just say they are all valid. I have not heard anyone else complaining about many of your points, but that makes it a unique review. I personally think you overhated chapter 3 a bit but that's okay, good video
Working in a daycare, it's concerning to know that one of the kids said that their favourite character from the game is Catnap. My kid, do you know about the LORE?!
Most of the problems You're having are with the controller and all I'm wondering is, Why didn't you play it on the pc? I also like using a controller but only for 2D, 2.5D and third person 3D games. but never First person games because they usually require fast camera movement which a controller makes harder because of the locked sensitivity. so chases if you decide to play Chapter 4 with a controller, will most likely give you a harder timer beating it. especially since I assume that with each chapter, they will make the difficulty harder.
I have not kept up with this series but have seen its influence on the world of “kids content” thanks to my siblings and woah it’s a lot. Thank you for recapping it!
The Chapter three control issues were mainly because it's made for PC. also, the difficulty thing, some of those parts (EX- the dog day chase) your supposed to die a few times. that's why they give you a new location
I get the feeling FoaFy would like the Resident Evil games. It has decent puzzles, a plethora of interesting monster designs, and enough lore and worldbuilding that would make any Mascot Horror franchise bow in inferiority.
@ChefSora chapter 3 is pretty good, and the character designs throughout are pretty great actually, but you gotta admit, it has way too many similarities to Bendy and the ink machine to ignore, and that game was kinda lame.
@@Tyler-q3k I think you just have bad taste imo. Maybe you're not into horror games, and that's fine, but you cant just call games like BATIM and Poppy Playtime "junk" or "lame" because you don't like that genre of video games. Also, its fine for Poppy Playtime to have similarities to BATIM, because they are coming from the same category of video games (Indie Horror).
@ChefSora you have a point, I'm just sick of so many popular games having basically the same set up as FNAF. ( Kids entertainment thing made scary by their evil creator ) its gotten old, and while they aren't the worst games ever, we should acknowledge they aren't perfect, ESPECIALLY B.A.T.I.M, seriously, that Borris fight was a MESS, and the story didn't make sense until the SECOND game. Point is: I like horror games, bit not when they're all the SAME THING, and have annoying or incredibly vague ways of telling their story.

Can’t wait for Chapter 4 of Poppy playtime. Except the Fan animation of this series is totally content farm brain rot. Like too many Smiling Creatures animation is totally melt my brain.
*Spritzes GameToons with a water bottle* No! Bad animation channel! Bad!
"This area is filled with Catnaps freaky red gas"
-FootofaFerret 2025
Love the Steven universe save the light video reference. " We jumped down a hole found another hole I jumped on the hole". Love it
Murder Drones Recap When?!
14:26 good to know that's what causes the audio to cut out. I was so mad when that happened. It ruined the end of the chapter for me.
Just The smiling critters are popular and beloved enough to carry their own separate community.
HER ART IS SO CUTE :3

I think the game controls are easier with a keyboard and mouse

Imagine receiving a note from someone begging for salvation, and you just ignore them because of a minor grammar error in said note.
Half of the complaints ferret has are that the console controls are bad.
His complaints for a game ment for pc are that controlers arent nicely compatable
Edit: 27:10 guys i think he might have a vision problem
I had much criticism to say about your own criteria, but i can just say they are all valid. I have not heard anyone else complaining about many of your points, but that makes it a unique review. I personally think you overhated chapter 3 a bit but that's okay, good video
Yesss! He said a lot of bad things but they are valid. I just wish he talked more about the game positively😅
Working in a daycare, it's concerning to know that one of the kids said that their favourite character from the game is Catnap. My kid, do you know about the LORE?!
Poppy Playtime is a great horror indie games 🔥
1:10 you sure
It’s funny that at 3:38 he get the PlayStation achievement and I love that keep being you man you got this
your sensitivity is SO low, it's no wonder you were having trouble
Most of the problems You're having are with the controller
and all I'm wondering is, Why didn't you play it on the pc?
I also like using a controller but only for 2D, 2.5D and third person 3D games. but never First person games because they usually require fast camera movement which a controller makes harder because of the locked sensitivity.
so chases if you decide to play Chapter 4 with a controller, will most likely give you a harder timer beating it. especially since I assume that with each chapter, they will make the difficulty harder.
Did you find the MatPat easter egg? In the PT section. V sweet.
Very sweet?
I have not kept up with this series but have seen its influence on the world of “kids content” thanks to my siblings and woah it’s a lot. Thank you for recapping it!
You have a full playthrough of this?
Your sensitivity is way too low for quick events or chases like mommy long legs or dogday.
Now you gotta play Little nightmares 1 and 2 and the DLCs 😊😁😄😄😄😄
the grab pack isnt a kids toy its a work tool made by elliot ludwig that the other staff saw to be very useful
Well now its time to play like the 8 garden of banban games. Ur in too deep now!
honestly all the control problems and changes seem to be exclusive to the console version which is really weird
We need a BioShock video
The different progressions of the speedruns for the different chapters has been the most interesting thing for me.
Certainly better than this junk... the tank controls and inventory crap is still annoying AF though.
@@Tyler-q3k Poppy Playtime isnt junk... 💀💀💀💀
Bro 6:24 gave me insane Deja vu because I completely forgot you did the exact same joke in your Steven universe save the light video
16:54 'Kinda like that 1 sci-fi movie Mars needs moms'. LoL
6:37 actually it’s not based on the toy or wise. The toy is actually based off of the bigger body.
The chapter 3 controls work just fine on keyboard and mouse, and iirc didn't change at all from chapters 1 and 2.
6:29 (literally getting flash backs from tomska’s “the hole”)
I love this game
3:19 erm actually, the grab packs were not kids toys that were sold, they were made the help employees get stuff from the high shelfs
