17:38 apparently during filming the actor playing the frontman had great difficultly failing the spinning top game to the point that he threw it with hit eyes closed and still made it 😂
As a soccer player, going at juggling the jegi with your dominant foot is different from than with your non dominant foot. This is because although there is more surface area with the top of your foot, the downward angle can make the jegi go forward instead of up. That's why with your dominant foot using the top is great because you can keep control. But using the side is much better for your non dominant foot. For this game, having a soccer player or someone who has played the sport is a great idea.
2:28 its actually likely the game is rigged to have only 2 finalists (hence one winner) since in the record books from season one there was only one winner in 30+ games
Well, in the first season the red light green light game took out half, but the second season it was far less due to Gi-Hun's influence. However, he tipped the scale back again with his rebellion. The last three games are definitely going to be ones that keep cutting the numbers in half even more

Okay look. We got a bunch of these spin tops for our summer camp as one of our activities, and it is NOT AS EASY AS IT LOOKS! You have to wind it properly, throw it correctly, and the hardest part, time pulling back on the string JUST RIGHT. Combine that with the pressure of a time limit and a death mentality of you lose, and how far those suckers can go if you mess up, and that was the game that gave me most anxiety to watch.

@@Williamblitzvids Poland, but idk if that habit extends to neighboring countries, or if only to certain regions of Poland. Still, there are only three options to choose from (or four, if there are regions that don't favor any option), so it probably wouldn't be so hard to find two different neighboring regions that favor the same option by coincidence.
So another rule of gonggi is that you cannot touch any other stone other than the ones you intend to pick up. Therefore on the first round you should roll them wide so you have the room to pick each one up individually. On the fourth round you need to throw the first stone in the air and place 4, the throw 1 and pick up the 4. To make this easier make the initial throw quite high so that you can more tactfully drop or place the remaining 4, making it easier to pick them up on the next throw. Planning which stone(s) to pick up is a skill that one does pick up with practise but ultimately it’s still very difficult.
I just want to throw this little theory out there. You ever noticed how when the characters who participate in the Squid game pick the blue square when they play ddakji, and once they win, they get an invite? Well, has anyone considered what would happen if you picked the red square? My personal theory is that those who pick red get recruited to become the ones in the pink track suits(can't remember if they have an official name other than their work class). I don't think there's any proof to this theory being correct(at the time I'm writing this), but I really think that's how the middle man is getting people to work for him during these games. With how much money goes to the players, you gotta think the staff is getting paid really well.
the creators of the show have confirmed that the colour of the square does not change the role of the player that receves the invite afterwards so if a player chooses the red one his role wod not change
18:00 hitting it with the side of you foot is absolutely the better strat. as someone who has played lots of football growing up you can control the ball in the air way better when its clos to your body if you hit it with the side of your foot
A tip for rock paper scissors is to look at the other person's fist (if it's tight then it's probably rock, if loosened then oaper and if two fingers are loosened then scissors)

Thank God I was one of the last to go up, I just listened to which of the three poems other classmates were reciting the most, luckily, most chose one far more than the other two combined, every time someone recited the poem, I learned a little bit more of it, by the time it was my turn, I learned the entire poem :D
I think that Netflix was going to give them basically an unlimited amount of money for production/promotion so it makes sense they are getting great promotion amongst a lot of companies because using different marketing strategies makes the most money when you have a lot of money invested into the project.
About gonggi, idk if anyone else used to do this but we used to play with 7 stones. Also there’s a rule I don’t think covered in the game where you can touch any stone other than what you intended to grab. Also when it comes to strategy on higher levels (2 and 3), what most people who played with me when I was younger would do is roll stones in between their fingers to maximize the chance of isolated groups of 2 or 3.
Unless I’m missing something I’m fairly certain only one person can win. Really pay attention to what the Masked soldiers tell the players and you’ll realize how deceiving they are. They tell them the prize is 45.6 billion won but money only gets added to the prize pool anytime someone dies. We also see that when Jun-ho goes thru the record there’s always been one winner. The VIPs also seem to only be betting on one player to survive as we see with Mr.69 placing his bet on 96. Even if there was two 50/50 games like in Season 1 (tug-of-war and marbles) and they miraculously guessed all the glass correctly, they’d find a way to make it so that the remaining 114 players are middled down to just one. And if there was no 50/50 games and all players did somehow win then 456 people just risked their lives for nothing as no prize money is added to the prize pool. Which is exactly what they show is trying to tell us. No matter how “fair” these games look they never truly are

In my country, Malaysia, we do have a game similar to gonggi called "Batu Seremban" except instead of 5 stones we have 7 at most. There's a few tips on tackling this game but basically you just need to practice hand coordination. Most experts at the game would say to line up your hand at the stone you wanna take and focus your eyes on the stone that you toss. Make sure not to toss too high or too low. Then when you have to take 2 or 3 stone, line your hand either in the middle or most pros would place their hand to the left of right (depends on which is dominant hand you use) and slide their hand to pick up all the stones. Although in Malaysia, some kids would alter the rules of the game to make it more challenging, such as don't move other stone when picking another or pick up stone 1 by 1 instead of 1,2 3, 4..., catching the stone with the other hand, etc. There's also similar games but we called it different. Mostly played the same way but with different rules, tactics, and equipment. First, Flying stone called "Baling Selipar" and play using slippers instead of stones and have many more step the just tossing to win. Secondly, Spinning Top called "Gasing" which is practically thing.
