  • We're fishing with Antonio, the boatless angler, fishing the shoreline of the Lower Niagara River. Today we're bottom bouncing with a simple bead for steelhead. The month of April is one of the best months for catching steelhead here.

    Took what I learned from your videos and caught my first rainbow this past weekend. It felt great thanks for all the tips!

    Well you can fish with the shorter rod but it’s nicer having a longer one for farther casting like a 9 footer . I find when you short cast you get more snags. And I usually hit more fish casting really far

    Hi Ivo, I'm a novice fisherman and was wondering how the mechanics of a hook-set take place with the bead pegged above the hook. How does the Steelhead get hooked?

    • @thundermistlures
      @thundermistlures  3 роки тому +1

      they actually take the hook and bead in together - I know it seems odd, but it works, and I like to keep it about an inch away from the hook

    On that T turn which do you put the weight on and which do you put the bead on?

    Amazing fish, great to see the catch. What is the drag lb rating of the reel to hold such a large size fish?

    Hi Ivo Is this at the whirlpool where you go down all the steps. Looks like a good spot to fish and would like to there

    • @thundermistlures
      @thundermistlures  5 років тому

      this is not the whirlpool, but you are correct - the whirlpool is that spot where you need to go down all the steps :) I was fishing at Queenston this time

    Hey there! Just moved to Buffalo and wondering if you know any access points? And also is this river fishable during the summer ?

    • @thundermistlures
      @thundermistlures  5 років тому

      you can fish the river all year round - not sure of access points in the Buffalo area, but I'm sure your local bait store will know - good luck out there and welcome to Buffalo :)

    Any boatless tips for reservoir fishing without current? Any difference?

    • @thundermistlures
      @thundermistlures  5 років тому +1

      suggest using spinners in stead of beads - with beads, you need current.....

    • @jmgomez2
      @jmgomez2 5 років тому

      Appreciate the help! I got the silver and gold stingeye spinners so I’ll give those a try this weekend.
      I’ve been catching smallies on a Tx rig and a green pumpkin craw
