Your Metallica reference is stupid, the obvious reference is Slayer. Most reviewers seem to know only two or thrre bands, always the same, Metallica, Megadeth (because of Metallica/Mustaine I guess) and Dragonforce (Guitar Hero)... That's pathetic.
The specific Metallica song I was referring to was Blackened from In Justice for All. I did say "old school Metallica". The opening riffs are very similar. I will, of course, also give you Slayer as an obvious reference. As for referencing other bands: I live in the US, we don't get this music on the radio (which is a shame), so when other bands are referenced, it's not a knock to Lovebites, it's a simple comparison of musical style that someone may recognize who also has the dilemma of not being able to find bands like this. Either way, thank you both for the comment.
@@GlassMoonGaming I understand those reasons, & I know you aren't knocking them. But I just feel it takes away from their own Identity because everyone does it. Cheers.
Are you thinking of any specific Slayer song? Because the main riff of "Break the Wall" immediately reminded me of a song - more precise: a riff from a song - from my favourite (thrash) metal album in 1987, namely the song "Over the Wall" from Testament's debut "The Legacy": ua-cam.com/video/lqlHxV9Pvcc/v-deo.html The specific riff in the song by Testament I'm refering to is the one first to be heard about 34 seconds into the song. Apart from the slight similarity as regards this specific riff and the very raw and heavy sound, "Break the Wall" (whose live version from 2020 is IMO the overall best version so far) sounds, of course, very different from "Over the Wall", especially the slow part. Also, the sound quality is superior and Lovebites simply play on a higher level. (Testament only had one Alex Skolnick.)

LOVEBITES - Break The Wall lyrics:
(DIE) No sign of my time
Cause I wish to live another life
(BY) Who will save my poor soul?
Crying alone in a dim hole
(MY) Can't believe it's real
Cause in the end, everything is gone
(SIDE) How should I live from now?
Find myself staring at the walls
Tonight, I'll break the wall
It's now or never
Now, I'm on my own
I've gotta get free
Bite, I'll break the chain
Run to my shelter
Make it out alive
I have to break through the wall
(DIE)
No sign of my crime
Got my scars during wartime
(BY)
Who's the one that did it
Deadly venom eating me inside
(MY)
Spent my life in vain
I can't forget everything I've done
(SIDE)
I swear to my hatred
Find myself staring at the walls
Tonight, I'll break the wall
It's now or never
Now, I'm on my own
I've gotta get free
Bite, I'll break the chain
Run to my shelter
Make it out alive
I have to break through the wall

No sign of my time
Cause I wish to live another life

Who will save my poor soul?
Crying alone in a dim hole
(MY)
Can't believe it's real
Cause in the end, everything is gone

(Testament only had one Alex Skolnick.)
jeez....so many interuptions
jeez...it's a reaction video and copyright sucks. :(
