A good quick overview of the particle hair system. Although a tiny bit more in-depth explanation or error-fixing would have been appreciated. Particularly fixing the side-hairs being interpolated with the rest of the hair. Splitting this into 2 seperate hair systems would help.
It is better before the Hair to retopo the head, so when you do this you will have nice quad topology of the scalp. But anyway very good tutorial thank you.
I wish video makers specify Blender versions from the start. Will it work in 2.9? Is it addon or blender features? Answering to myself - yeah, it works in Blender 2.9 and no addon needed. Still, I wish the version of Blender were specified. Anyways, thank you for a great lesson. I have got a question, maybe smb can help - Can I export such hair as OBJ or is just for rendering in Blender?
quick question, i made a hair using this method and it's amazing, worked perfectly. but i'm trying to rig my character and when i connect it and move the scalp, the hair itself remains in the air, any idea? or is it just not possible?
Nice tutorial but theres a problem where after I removed the material and after adding new material, the base under the hair is a solid colour, is there a way to fix that? Thanks
Hi. I want to create hair for a model but I also need to export the "alpha" for the hair. Is there a way to use this particle system to form some hair and then export or bake the mesh into maps for alpha, color, roughness etc?
Hi what if my model is too high poly and all what i can see in edit mode is black head, and it's hard to select, can i somehow change settings to reduce showing points
@@sadiedennis1358 Maybe, but I don't understand much English, that's why I'm asking in the comments. I mainly navigate visually or, as I write and read now, using Google Translate.
I went through about 6 tutorials on hair, and this one has been the best / easiest to follow, thank you

Did you parent the scalp to the mesh?
Fantastic, thank you very much.
I heard from a comrade that this method doesn't allow your model to be exported on unity (or any game engine), is that true ? Thanks !

Awesome video! By any chance, can I add animation to the hair? Like if it's being pulled or the hair get untied and flows down?
Thanks for the nice tutorial.
I have a problem. When I export a GLB file the hair is not exported d with the model.
Can these be simulated and animated easily?
Thank you
So what do you do when the particle system doesnt actually add any particles?
Thanks for the tutorial!!!!!
will this work for Baldur's gate 3?
Is this viable for games?
want to talk about topology?💀
