hmmm what I remember from 99 everyone had bleach blonde hair cuts, we all sagged our clothes, the boy band era was the mainstream, top tracks were blue by Eiffel 99 ? filter take my picture, off spring, blink 182 , christina aguilara, nsync and backstreet boys was all you heard on the pop radio stations. Emenem had just gotten popular all the kids were riding Razor scooters and skateboarding was beginning to pop off again with Tony Hawk Pro skater and World Industries at the forefront. Beepers everyone had a beeper and some of us even had those old school nokia cell phones with the game snake on it.. I just remember never wanting to stay home always being outside looking for action I was either riding my skateboard looking for other skateboarders to skate with or just hanging out with friends getting into some sort of trouble. The internet was super slow back then we had AOL or NETZERO both of which were 56k and my mom would always be yelling everytime i was on the internet because it would take up the landline connection. I would basically only use the internet back then to look at porn it took forever to load the pictures but boy was it glorious when it finally loaded... It was like having every playboy magazine at the tip of your fingers... That probably fucked me up bad as a kid i could only imagine how fucked up the kids now days are going to be with all the access to porn they have... I mean loading a video was basically impossible back then but you could load pictures and galleries . When high speed dsl came into action around 2002 it was a game changer that was the beginning of the end I believe. Time is like a dark tunnel at the end of time there is a little tiny light and at the beginning of the tunnel there is a little tiny light were basically somewhere in the middle of the tunnel we'll probably never see the little light at the end of the tunnel since we will all probably die before we get through it and we never remember what it was like at the beginning of the tunnel we are all somewhere in the dark trying to make it to the end and we all have an end.
It was the beginning of the end because porn got boring and MySpace made it easier to meet strangers online. I remember my senior year all the dudes were talking about meeting girls from our rival high schools like it was the new normal. No more having to worry about getting rejected by our classmates. Also, I remember the talk of that summer and fall was the fallout of Woodstock 1999. Nu metal divided the grunge fans, either you were one of them or done with rock music. It was a crazy time, but man music got even better after that if you stayed with rock genres.
Weird you still see many of these cars on the road. I guess it would be the equivalent of seeing cars from the mid-late 70s still on the road by 1999, but oddly enough, you don’t really see a lot of 70s cars on the road in this video. It’s almost as if time ended in 2001, and even the cars from the 90s linger on a lot longer than cars from the 60s-70s.
Wow! I was only 2 when this was filmed.I’m from Memphis TN but always wanted to visit Los Angeles. My grandpa took me there in 2012 and he died last year but I know he’s in a better place. I’m just glad I got to see L.A when it was still somewhat decent
Ajingtec so true The oldest cars you can see on the road are basically 90s cars and even then they aren’t so common anymore and anything from the 80s and before are extremely rare and are only driven by collectors or people that needed a extremely cheap car
I love this channel, gives me peace and makes me nostalgic at the same time
That is like traveling in time

Take me back to LA in the 90’s.
1990's Echo Park, back when it was full of gangsters and crime instead of hipsters and overpriced cafes.
It's sound like Gangstar City. Yes i play that game.
Now its hipsters and homeless.

Party Like It's 1999!!
And tonight I'm gonna Party like its 20 years ago
In some ways, the cars look the same as today and you would almost think it is 2019 in this video but it's 1999
Not really. They were more boxy then
@@StandWatie1862 ok whatever you say
No its way different now, there were way more sedans back then and not so many stupid crossovers. 70% of vehicles on the road back then was a sedan.
@@StandWatie1862 The few ones you saw in the video, YES, but generally new cars weren't that boxy anymore in '99.
@@Kev27RS I had a driver's license in 99
I believe that you invented blogging good sir
