That chain trick to not twist anything blew my mind. I can't believe I never thought to do that before
Me too, and my mother, a master crocheter, was also mind blown. It also blows me away to think my mom didn't have the luxury we have, of UA-cam tutorials at our fingertips. I can't imagine only having a written pattern & a couple of pictures. Maybe someday, but not yet - I've only been crocheting since January. Annoo makes it much easier to make pretty things.

I never make anything for myself cause since developing a rare GI disorder i can't work anymore so i have to sell what i make. This is going to be an exception. I am going to treat myself and make this for me. Thank you for a great video!
I have tried many many times to teach myself how to crochet, but I used to always get halfway through a project and end up quitting, and I hadn’t picked it back up in years. As of right now, I am probably about 2 hours away from finishing one fo the cardigans that you made a pattern for and I cannot thank you enough for Reinspiring me to begin again, I can’t wait till my project is done!

I tried my Furls hook not right size but it was great. Will have to order another

This dress is gorgeous... I might try to make it for my girl's!!! Would Mandala yarn work for this?
You can do it but be aware that Mandala is stretchy acrylic so there would be issues in washing and does not come in the needed yardage .Nor is is gradient- So you will have a lot of cutting and knotting , it won't look the same because Mandala is not gradient color change but sharp color contrasts . Wolltraum has a gradual color change from one color to the next so when the garment is made it flows. The only other subsitute for Wolltruam is Wollium.

This is a beautiful dress. I have been looking for design to make me a crochet dress. I have finally found the dress I will make for myself. I am going to make a matching slip dress to go under the crochet dress. The dress would look great in black-every woman needs a little black dress-I am going to have that little black crochet dress.
Beautiful dress. Yarn is quite expensive, have to find another similar yarn.
Try yarnsub.com put the name of the yarn used and they'll give you the closest yarn you can substitute for.

Soile Koskela , checkout R.H. Rainbow Wrap yarn, it’s a very similar yarn and I believe that L.B. Yarns also has an equivalent yarn to the beautiful Wooltraum! Unfortunately, both R.H. and L.B. doesn’t have as great color selection as Wooltraum!
Look for a yarn that is 4 ply and 50% acrylic and 50% cotton. Check their website, theirs is made 50% acrylic and 50% baumwollen which is some type of cotton.
