tears came to my eyes as her voice broke .Quantum science says reality happens upon interaction as she thanks the audience for her reality .Such a gift
Shows how being ignored & dismissed, not feeling seen or heard and/or being chronically misunderstood can lead a person to question their own reality and even their own existence! It makes you feel like you’re in a simulation 🧟♀️ How beautiful that she received & felt her proper recognition 🙌🥹 … I fear I never will 💔
Emily Levine really reminds me of Frankie from Grace and Frankie as well. That show is such an amazing show :) It is so life-enriching, just like this heartfelt gift of a video.
This was THE BEST TED TALKS that I have ever viewed! Simply Powerful! Sorry to hear about her passing, but as she stated the earth will find her delicious! Much respect!
Just watched this and discovered she passed on the 3rd of February this year, so a month and a half or so before I found this talk. Currently looking through her website. She was an incredible woman. I’m sure every microbe, detritus-er and decomposer are finding you delicious indeed :)
I've been in a very existentially somber mood recently, which is what lead me down a rabbit hole of Ted Talks and, ultimately, here. Then, I read from a comment by Klea Tselentis that Emily passed on February 3rd, and that struck me so deeply because today is also February 3rd. Thank you for this, Emily.
As I was viewing this video for the second time and browsing through the comments, I saw yours and decided to give it a like. It's a good comment. Then I saw that I had already done so the first time. Have a great day!
What an absolute treasure of a person she is. I'm in an incredibly dark place right now and I thought this might be a good topic for me given the title of the talk. What a pleasure it was to watch, especially knowing this perfect stranger made it possible for me to smile for nearly fifteen minutes, which to me is incredible and I'm very grateful. On top of that simple fact, I find I have much more to consider than I did before watching this talk. Thank you.
"I have fantasies. They are like goals, but without the hard work." Hahahahahahahahahhahahahahahaha she described the lives of almost 99% of people in a few seconds 😂😂.
May we all be so curious about life and each other, and find our grounded power in Life’s gift of vulnerability! May she live on in all of us, for our own sakes. 🙏🏾❤️
"Thanks for making my life real" Anybody else think that this was a reference towards the colapse of the wave funtion? It only existed becuase there was an observer to it... she is amazing
Cogito Ergo Zoooom! I will for my time here, cherish that. Emily, You are a treasure and a sparkling jewel! Thank you for the reality check. Rhythm and polarity a powerful choice!
What an incredible lady! Thank you for making me feel better about my own mortality Levine! I am not at all at the point where I would be able to embrace death, and I really admire this lady. What a courage, what selflessness!
Instead of writing disrespectful comments or wring long comment of why you dont agree with her, just listen and learn what you can from her. knowledge is powerful. Thank you
Young Romeo She does not convey knowledge. This is called philosophical, conditional dogma. She interprets real knowledge with an ideological perspective. I mean - good for her. And it is one possible way to keep a sane cognition. But it is not knowledge in any way. It is a great speech with a pleasurable comedic sense.
I've been in a very unchangable reality recently, i got my hands stucked. But as she related this reality to science which I'm fond of, Blessed me so much, may her atitude remain.
Thank You, Emily Levine. Your humor and wisdom is needed and appreciated. Yeah ... reality ... it's always there, it's just a matter of how much we want to see it for what it is ... and is not. I agree Life and Death cannot be with out each other. Your remarks about nature and women ... however are interesting, and worth more thought. While you do not have to be very old to experience death (seeing people, animals and plants dying all around us) ... knowing at some point we will also die ... I consider what makes some want to live forever ... or just live to be older than most ... the part of having to let go or say goodbye to that which we feel so connected ... It is not easy to form a strong connection to just anyone (for some not even with their parents or family) ...so when you have a strong connection, that connection, helps you feel so good (about being alive) and so I consider it is the connection we don't want to go away ... in the form of dying. Also there is that fear of the unknown (unless you are a person who has a strong belief about what exactly does happen once we die). Emily, you make me think about my Dear, deceased, Mother-in-law. Flo. Flo lived well ... and even though she was prepared to die, once she knew she would be within a relative period of time, she actually said once (within her last few weeks) ... "I don't know how to do this" ... of course she did not she'd only dedicating her life to living ... that had to be such an odd transition for her ... but death ... it has it's own way stepping in and taking over at some point. Our death is inevitable but suffering due to fear of it is optional and suffering that follows the death of someone Dear ... that's due to the loss of connection. (We have forgotten we never truly lose connection it does just change forms.) Love & Peace to All
OMG. I FOUND HER JUST NOW. I LOVE THIS TALK. IT FEELS LIKE HOME TO ME BECAUSE I REALLY FELT HER!! I FOUND SOMEONE WHO'S MORE OF LIKE ME. I UNDERSTAND HER.
“An individual must be acknowledged by other individuals. All consciousness is, basically, the desire to be recognized and proclaimed as such by other consciousnesses. It is others who beget us. Only in association do we receive a human value.” - Albert Camus
So fantastic. I think life can be just as beautiful even without limits. Limits have bound our emotions and feelings forever, and while it's risky to disrupt the fragile equilibrium that is life by removing limits like death, I think we're missing out on so much of where life can go if we don't at least test some different limits.
This is so spot on after learning of Ms. Levine's passing. My sister's beloved pet died today. Lively, funny, quick witted, bonded with us - Chase was actually a brown and white domestic rat. He was 2 1/2-3 yrs old, that is quite long in the fang, for a rodent. After over two years of fun, and great companionship (rats are gonzo smart), he began to fail, and he stopped eating. Nature was speaking. We listened. My sister fed Chase some CBD in water, with a dropper, to keep him comfy and calm. Last night she put him in his towel bed, and he quietly drifted off to sleep, and did not wake up. . "Do not go gently into that good night - rage, rage against the dying of the light"..Well, maybe, not so much. Rest well, Ms. Levine..
In my salad days (decades ago) I worked at the 'PROV Budd Friedman's Improvisation way back then was based on 44th street in NYC. They hadn't yet moved the club to Los Angeles. I remember the NYC Stickball Team, a wildly creative, off the wall group. Including Steve Landesberg, as well. Maybe Liz Torres? Emily was the girl, jump-in-with-both-feet ready for whatever onstage!! With her mop of dark hair, lively sparkling 'tude, and comedic brilliance, she was hard to miss. And, impossible to forget. Bless her heart, oy....such nice memories.
I hope this will still be me in 80 years, cuz I'm 23 and this is how I feel now, and I don't ever want to become so desperate to live longer that I desire to defeat death.
You are also responsible for the genuine smile on my face right now too . Thank you very much ... I very much enjoyed this Ted talk from you and would be very interested in other talks from you. Take care
This is how I always feel about life and death !!! This is disrespectful to the nature that we always fight with death and never really live. Never enjoy of our gifts , lives . I love life , I love earth , I love animals (that’s why I am vegan) but I also love my death !!! That’s why I try to enjoy while I am here and let others enjoy after me . Living as light as I can and be gentle to trees , animals and our beautiful earth 🌍
Emily's Universe. Grateful for generation, degeneration, regeneration. Emily, your enormous appetite for life is captivating. Interactions are our reality. A tender Ted talk. Thank you.
when she starts going into the stuff about being against women, i kinda knew what she was getting at. if you think of it like yin/yang energy. the world is predominantly yang and places more value on traits associated with masculine energy than it does the yin/feminine energy. i think it's because yin is associated with the unknown, the unpredictable and death and that makes people very afraid of it. yin is opposite to yang but that doesn't mean it's bad, evil or weak and needs to be controlled at all costs. look at the evil in the world today that came from an imbalance towards yang. no, yin has a different but equal value, one that we maybe don't give enough credit for or respect. we admire its beauty or mysteries but arrogantly believe we can control it and don't acknowledge its important lessons or take it as part of ourselves. stuff that's yin: cycles, nature, death, birth, labor, emotions, the ocean, intuition, the feminine, unknown etc. it's not bad, just scary because we often have trouble acknowledging, let alone accepting aspects of yin that exist in ourselves. we're in denial internally and so we've been denying it externally too.
Ms. Emily, we love the talk :-) It's full of inspiration. And well no matter how great the talk is, there are people who would dislike it. Seriously? Reality says they exist. We can't please everybody.
"What the Caterpillar calls the End of the World, the Master calls a Butterfly!" Richard Bach. Here is another Reality Check: Do we really die, or are we just moving on to another sphere, based on how we treated out fellow human beings, who walked this planet with us for a while. If this is true, then, Emily hit the jackpot, Love is, Love does, I mean, she was already surrounded by Love, when she was still here, as this clip demonstrates. Imagine where she is now...
OMG Emily... There's someone else who sees life as I do! I especially love the difference between Goals & Fantasy ha! However I would prefer being floated out on a wooden raft & set afire as my Music, I'm a Singer, played & Loved Ones waved Farewell. 💜
This wonderful person passed on the 3rd of Feb. Just by watching this I'm sure we can say she enriched our lives.
