Imagine being an inmate, and getting to live on forever as part of this recording.

Many will live forever because they chose to be saved through the sacrifice of Christ. That's the Only Way to live forever and even Johnny Cash knew That.

I can only Imagine some if not most of these Inmates were later on released from San Quentin and lived on to have children and grand children whom they will tell their story about how they were locked up in San Quentin and got to see none other than the Man In Black himself live right their very eyes and how they got to boo and protest peacefully against the guards and the entire prison itself through music

@@harryheebs690 I agree with Ring of Fire, my least favourite of his and certainly leaves me confused why he came up with it. But I Walk the Line is pretty good too, next to songs like All Over Again, The Ways of a Woman in Love, I Still Miss Someone, &c.

I used to be the lead singer of a small town Country & Western cover band about 15 years ago (I was 19 at the time) and this was a staple song of ours. Everytime we played it, it never ceased to give me the chills. Such a great song.

San Quentin, you've been livin' hell to me
You've hosted me since nineteen sixty three
I've seen 'em come and go and I've seen them die
And long ago I stopped askin' why
San Quentin, I hate every inch of you
You've cut me and have scarred me thru an' thru
And I'll walk out a wiser weaker man
Mister Congressman why can't you understand
San Quentin, what good do you think you do?
Do you think that I'll be different when you're through?
You bent my heart and mind and you may my soul
And your stone walls turn my blood a little cold
San Quentin, may you rot and burn in hell
May your walls fall and may I live to tell
May all the world forget you ever stood
And may all the world regret you did no good
San Quentin, you've been livin' hell to me
San Quentin, has estado viviendo infernal para mí
Me has alojado desde diecinueve sesenta y tres
Los he visto ir y venir y los he visto morir
Y hace mucho tiempo dejé de preguntar por qué
San Quentin, odio cada centímetro de ti
Me has cortado y me has marcado a través de un
Y saldré a un hombre más sabio y débil
Señor Congresista, ¿por qué no puede entender?
San Quentin, ¿qué bien crees que haces?
¿Crees que seré diferente cuando termines?
Has doblado mi corazón y mi mente y puedes mi alma
San Quentin, has estado viviendo infernal para mí
