They didn't just stand around waiting on criminals to break the doors open.... They were busy taking F'n selfies with them.
To be honest I think taking selfies with them was a very wise decision. It was quite clear that the police officers in the Capital building were far too few for the numbers of insurrectionists. We now know that one officer who did try to stop them has lost his life because of his efforts. By entering the Capital building in the way they did they were committing a Federal crime. Those officers now have evidence of those crimes, evidence that can't be denied in court. These traitors were convinced they were going to win and so didn't have the intelligence to even consider that they would end up in jail because of this. I will guarantee that all those selfies will now be used to put those people in jail. When you can't stop something from happening you gather evidence and that is what they did.
You may have overlooked the fact that they shot and killed one of the rioters, and that one of the Capitol Guard officers died during that mess. Your silly "selfie" comment just doesnt hold water.

This was not only unprofessional but clearly unauthorized, illegal, and dangerous. One of their fellow blue brothers is in a coma because of what occurred yesterday. There was clearly a lack of leadership and the situation should’ve never gotten to this point, especially what’s suppose to be secure. This event only showed our country’s enemies where our vulnerabilities lie and that our own Capitol building can potentially be seized or at the very least targeted.
