why do some people sell their boats with the following requirement:" This vessel can not be sold in the US or to a US Citizen or resident"?
Hi, this disclaimer just means that the US Customs Duty has not been paid. This tax is not owed if you are not entering U.S. waters so many yachts never paid it. There are legal ways to be exempt and if you contact me I can explain that.
Question: You mention something about a U.S.A. permit (about $85.00 ) . This payment registers your boat how? Do you maintain legal ownership or does the STATE claim legal ownership, like they do for 'VEHICLES' ?

Whats the scoop for Canada ?? If i was flagged to another country and wanted as a Canadian enter Canadian waters Would i be able to register for a year also as a cruiser???

Please contact me directly. I may have a way for you to do this tax free...you must follow the rules carefully though.
Would understand if you were buying a $10MM boat. Not worth it for the average Joe boat buyer.
