2:24 - The only time the region was named in G1 was in a line you can miss... that was changed in the localization. Specifically, if you check the Town Map at the very beginning, the PC mentions the name of the region as Kanto. In localization, it's just generalized as "the map of the region" 7:01 - People have found the forums where people have first documented the Mew glitch. From that it's clear that, at first, people thought it was just another joke; once it was confirmed to be the real deal, some people thought it was an intentional design and not just spaghetti code. 9:20 - The sprites are weird due to the fact that back in the early days, they were done BEFORE the artwork was finalized. 9:50 - I believe internally, missing the target is the same as 0 shakes in later games.
It holds a special place in my heart too, as does Gen II. The remakes of both are among my favourite games ever (I'm planning to do a video or article about HGSS this year.) I haven't played that Dragon Quest game you recommended, not really familiar with that series, but I'l look it up!
Thank you! Nothing wrong with having Gen I as your favourite, but don't let it put you off trying the ones that came after, if you haven't already - there are loads of great experiences.
Wow, you are with me! Gen 1 is underrated and/or bashed these days for unfair reasons. And while i prefer Gen 3, i could understand why would someone see Gen 1 as the best.

Good facts! Thanks for watching.
Did you play DQM Dark Prince by the way? I think youd like it.
Gen 1 is the greatest of all time. My mind will not be changed on this.

@@AMPlayem it's similar to Pokémon except all battles are three on three and there's a really deep breeding system.
Good point well made. As a filthy gen 1er I approve 🤣

@@AMPlayem I'm actually playing through black and white right now. I'm reading the adventures manga too 👌
