    Owned a 3 thread serger...gave it away and bought a Four thread. Four thread been in box for over a year or more, scared to use until I ran across your channel. Learning so much from you and the fear is leaving me fast. Thank you so much for all your help, love this channel.

    After watching all three serger videos, I have dug out my serger from my treasure box and will start using it again. My serger is Janome 8002DX, the thread keeps breaking on the lower loop. So I decided I have enough and put it away for good. Hubby refused to sell it. Now, after washing your videos, I think I am more confident that we will be friends for life. Thank you, you are a life saver.

    I live in Canada and have been having some problems with my serger. I spent the time today looking at your three videos and thank yo so much for your patience in your descriptions, demonstrations and delivery of the information. I wish your location was In Ontario instead of in the USA. Thanks again, I have a much better understanding of my machine and a much better appreciation of what it can do. Please continue to share.

    I've had my serger for 20 years and have learnt so much more from your tutorials. I can't thank you enough. Also threading with those floss threaders makes it so EASY. I've bought some immediately-for me and my sister. I can't wait to show her your videos. Please keep them coming.

    My school just got this serger and so far pretty much nobody knows how to use it. I hope to change that, and these videos are so helpful! I was intimidated when I first saw the machine but your videos have made it a lot less scary and a lot more straightforward. Thank you so much!

    Thank you for the lessons, I bought my Janome at least 2 years ago, and never used it other than to try it out to see what the stitching would look like. I received a DVD with the instruction book but could never get the DVD to play. I googled instructions on how to use the machine and I was very scared to attempt trying to thread the thing. Well, I couldn't find anything until just now when your UA-cam videos popped up. I was getting ready to sell it, now I am keeping it. Your videos are awesome and well explained. I have subscribed to your channel and although I did not buy my machine through you, I do hope I will be able to see some project videos. Again, thank you so much, I now have a new passion to try something on the serger!

    I cannot thank you enough for these instructional videos. I just bought this Janome 8002D this afternoon from my local Sewing and Vac center here in my hometown in Michigan and I don't have a clue how to use a serger. The woman that sat with me at the store had me thread it wrong from both your way and the manual. Thought it still did nice stitches so apparently was not that important which hole I went through first, right or left so long as it was from top to bottom and back over top and through. And she covered most things accurately but not in the same detail as you did. Your videos are so clear, even threading that nasty lower looper. I feel so much more confident now to sit and try the various stitches that you have done in this segment. You have helped me greatly. Thank you again a hundred times over.

    Thank you very much for this invaluable information. When and how do we oil our Janome sergers?

    • @PoconoSewAndVac
      @PoconoSewAndVac  6 років тому +1

      Jude Jane, this information is posted in the manual. Sometimes it is difficult to see the exact oil "locations", but don't stress about this too much. Look for moving parts by turning your handwheel if a bit unsure. Those moving parts will need oil. Follow the locations in the manual's picture and you will do fine. Don't forget to run a scrap piece through your serger when done to absorb any excess before starting or continuing a project.

    I hate removing the needles on my serger because it's so hard to put them back in. Can I do a narrow rolled hem by leaving the left needle in but just not threading it?

    if you use a 3 thread overlocker on a seam and then apply a regular straight stitch next to it on your sewing machine , can that match up to a 4 thread overlocker stitch?

    Kathy I have one of those "white elephant" sergers that has sat in my closet for at least 10-12 years. I was never able to use it because I couldn't thread it. I happen to find your videos and followed them almost frame by frame and VOILA'! I can't thank you enough. I am really interested in your video on adjusting tensions. Am I able to purchase it? Thank you so much for your videos. I will be saving them to my desktop and referring to them like a bible!

    I love your video. Looked all of them. But now I stuck. Why my Janome 990 D works rolled hem perfectly on the right said , but too loos on the opposite side. I have it 1 year. I already did perfect rolled ham in the past. Now I can´t figure it out, what´s the problem. Please help with your experience.

    Last night I looked at your settings and my rolled hem was restored, but today I started to sew and it began the rolled hem and changed and was loose! What happened? I didn't change the settings at all. I am using a Janome 534D

    Awesome video! :). Taking this one step further, do you have a video on lettuce edge for knit fabrics?
    (I looked on your FB page as well as your list of videos on UA-cam. Perhaps I overlooked it :( ).
    Edit: Is the rolled hem the same as the lettuce edge? (Seems like the lettuce edge has more stitches (i.e., more dense) presenting as a solid line of stitches.
    Thank you so much! :)

    Kathy, I have a hard hard to do the organza, especially with it is a curved A shaped skirt, I used rolled hem finish with my Janome PRO 4DX. Would you please conduct a tutorial of that, please ?

    • @PoconoSewAndVac
      @PoconoSewAndVac  5 років тому

      Edna, try using a temporary stiffener on your organza. A few products which come to mind are Palmer Pletsch's Perfect Sew, Terial Magic, or google "gelatin organza", a homemade method. Be careful, however, if using an iron on synthetic organza. It won't take high heat like silk organza.
