Hey Aaron! Long time! So I’ve got to say I love the Rhake so much that I’m on my second one which is the same you have, only with the Cobra buckles. This new version has the improvements with the liner so the liner doesn’t pull out. One thing I love about the Rhake is that it is designed with taller folks in mind. Being 6’2” it’s the most comfortable bag I’ve owned and as you may remember I’ve owned many. My favs include the Radian for travel, the Spar with backpack straps for light EDC, and the Integer which is like a mini Radian. It all started with the original Sanction which I still also own along with all the Archiv attachments to interchange between bags. I agree, that the cobra buckles create a secondary step in accessing the two front panels. But I’ve learned to find my peace with them. I use the top flap pocket for quick grabs like handy wipes and spray. The lower pocket I use for a number of smaller pouches that I access much less frequently more for emergency stuff. I’ve leaned to pack my pouches vertically side by side in the main for quicker access. And a 16” MacBook Pro slips in like a dream. The G-hook is in case you don’t want to rip the noisy Velcro open every time as a roll top as opposed to using the Velcro for a flap down look as opposed to rolled. The Velcro on the top flap also accommodate patches for those who like to decorate. My other primary EDC is the Bellroy Apex, however I prefer the Rhake due to shoulder comfort and compartmentalization. Lastly, I’ve never had a drop of water inside any of my MW bags. They are weather solid here in the PNW USA. I hope you are well! Great job on the new bag!
I have this bag - this is an excellent review of it. I'm glad you pointed out the comfort, because it really is surprisingly comfortable. Just my opinion: if you commute out in the elements, I think the weather protection and comfort make it worth the price.
Evergoods with about every pack enters the chat. I love my evergoods sling but the strap with the dangle is just ridiculous. Used it while traveling and it even ruins pictures because there is this piece of strap dangling.
Awesome review, Aaron. I've thought about that pack, but the price point is insane (though I've seen great-condition used ones, even in X-Pac, for $300 or less), it's actually quite "tall" making it less than ideal for a personal item, and the main rolltop compartment is not fully waterproof because it's constructed using seams rather than welding. (Why why why?) By the way, one company that does use welding on its rolltop compartments (aside from Chrome) is ILE. I'd love to see you do a full review of an ILE pack, because as far as I know, no reviews of their packs exist. The Default is their classic, but they have so many other awesome packs and some AMAZING color options. Do it!!!
As an animator that runs two 16" macbook pros, 13" iPad pro and multiple drives, dji osmo and a mini 3 drone, H6 and a shotgun mic... This thing is a perfect bag for a remote work designer or content creator. Price might seem wild but I bought this bag November 2017 as it was announced and it's been my EDC ever since. I bough a second one (White VX) to have have a rip stop version for when I'm overland backpacking with it in the elements. I have not come close to another bag that fits my lifestyle more. If you're on the fence.. I offer an experienced nudge in the yes direction.
@@HashtagSurvival Comfortably yes but I'd up the squat weight. Everyone I know that lifts it is shocked how heavy it is. haha. The adjustable straps helps with leveling the weight well though.

Great video and review. I had this bag. I sold it. It’s a great looking bag. Maybe the coolest but not super practical or user friendly. Too bad. I have other MW stuff I love.
Great video! I do love the camo with its tactical design! Although, I would have loved to see a little orange baked into it. I agree with the obvious catches in this review. I also think It should have had a zipper wrapped around the center of the bag allowing halfway point access into the bottom of the main compartment. Some creativity that would have made a difference. To depend on the top to bottom approach can make it hard for some to find small essentials. Especially if you have short arms. No strap band pulls? Why? Is it expensive to add? Overal, i like it on demo but would not pay this much for it. 😊
Wow…. How do you even have time to eat with all these videos you put out? 😂 keep up the good work man every time I turn around there’s a new video coming out love the content.👍💪
I love the Mission Workshop looks, the price is definitely on the high side. I was just curious, do you have thoughts about wearing a camo pack in various countries? I personally like camo anything, but leave that stuff at home (US), especially when traveling in China, and I know HK isn’t China (yet), but getting closer. Just don’t want to send unintentional message as an American abroad. Love the pack though!
I agree - I probably wouldn’t bring a camp bag traveling abroad. I actually just learned that camp backpacks are illegal in certain countries, so best to keep it at home just in case
@@maximes4428I wouldn’t say never, as bigger bags to tend to be more expensive than smaller bags - but totally agree, it’s not about size it’s about build/fabrics/design/hardware/etc
