the reason why the city looked weird was because this version of gotham was a lot more younger as well as the batman. The developers took all the same buildings and did modify them to look more different to Arkham City and Arkham Knight. To me i believe this to be a smart idea since it’s literally like batman fighting bad guys who affect the city, which causes it to look younger.

      Jingle bells
      Batman smells,
      Robin laid an egg.
It's a time honored tradition almost as old as the holiday itself. And if I remember my Bible the way I think I do, and I do, then I know Jesus just lived long enough to see himself become become the villain too... He and Batman are almost the same guy if you think about it, except for Christ not beating the crap out of poor criminals in Jerusalem's slums, and his parents not getting murdered themselves (helps when your biological dad is God, I guess) and thus the Messiah being turned away from the typical life of vengeance at such a young age, plus his lack of a butler, mansion and millions of dollars (billions in today's millions), none of which Jesus deserved because Joseph and Mary didn't work as hard as Thomas and Martha. However, like Batman, Jesus coincidentally also has Christmas songs written about him, so their stories will always be inextricably intertwined. Can I hear a Bat Hallelujah?

Well, every Arkham game is known for a strength. Asylum is known for it's atmosphere and horror. City is known for it's story. Knight is known for it's polished combat. And Origins is known for it's boss battles. That's what this Arkham had going for it that no other Arkham game leaned into. It just has the best boss fights in all of the games. And it probably has the best trailers that went with these games. That Bruce growing up trailer is probably the best marketing I've seen in Batman anything.
One thing that needs to be mentioned is Gotham itself. Gotham is a character in all these games and this Gotham is the most boring Gotham in the series. All I think of when I try to remember this game is going from Arkham City, a neon lit city and although dilapidated and in ruins, still looks lively and has character, - to the monochrome drabness of dead streets in Arkham Origins, unlived buildings, and souless structures in areas that couldn't look less appealing to explore. Their contribution to the Arkham map should've been an indication just how boring they would make all of Gotham in Gotham Knights. That is my biggest issue with this game. It's such a crap map that you don't want to cross that goddamn bridge when it comes to it.

This is what I wish Arkham Knight was, narrative & performance driven. Conroy's Batman was very over the top & aggressive, and left no room for moments of subtlety & humanity like there are in Arkham Origins, u got to see Bruce Wayne overwhelmed and in over his head, stressed & angry. You see a man trying to be something more for his City. In Arkham Knight Batman, is pretty much the same throughout the whole game, even though it's a lot of fun I wasn't emotionally invested at all

17:40 ppl always drag me for this opinion but the third season of the show batwoman is one of the best handled post-batman stories. Basically all of the things batman confiscated from his villains got out onto the streets (mad hatter’s hat, mr freeze’s ice gun, catwoman’s whip, etc.), and a bunch of copycat villains found them and sprung up all inspired by their predecessors. It also paralleled heavy to how Ryan (batwoman) handled being basically a copycat Bruce. She ran wayne enterprises in his absence, juggled bat-missions, and tried to keep corruption out of the corporate workplace. If you don’t believe me, watch it for yourself. Skip the first two seasons, hop in on season 3, and tell me what you think. It’s a short season and it’s very enjoyable.

It's so great to see that Arkham Origins has been getting love recently. Idk why people had to bash this so much just for not being connected to Rocksteady or that it was just a gameplay copy of Arkham City which I barely cared about tbh. The game had taken such a interesting dive into that Batman's origins in similarities to the comic run of Batman Year One and elevated it with a original narritive that hits hoke about the essence and meaning of Batman. In honesty I sometimes go back and forth with Origins and City for which had the best story in the series cause it's just that damn good.
The story's great, the VA cast is solid (and especially Troy Baker's take of Joker), the combat even similar had some new styles and honestly was the smoothest imo until Arkham Knight. The original score was AMAZING man. Christopher Drake made such fitting motifs and themes that captured well in a thrilling and heroic sense with some special compositions of Christmas melodies that fits with the game's settings beautifully.
Arkham Origins will always have a special place in my heart for what it's done thru my childhood and especially the memories I made playing the first time. I used to pop it on the PS3 every holiday in celebration and it was the perfect entertainment to enjoy the season.

I love all of them equally, but if I had to choose I’ve gotta say this is my favorite game in the Arkham series. I love the boss fights, the snow setting, their portrayal of Joker, Bane, etc.
This is a great addition to the series

Honestly, I played it recently, it was my reason to purchase the highest tier on new PlayStation subscription! I played it way back in the day on ps3 and since I play Arkham games every single year, I was always missing this one. And I must say, I had a blast!! Yeah it’s got it’s flaws, but still it is great! It’s darker in tone, story is great, it’s got awesome sections, fantastic boss fights (yeah Deathstroke I’m looking at you) and through whole my play through I was wondering, why there is so much hate towards it. It’s got the best combat impo after Arkham Knight, and yes electricutioner gloves are so freaking OP but so fun to use! I don’t know, I had a lot fun with it! Looking forward to playing it again

I enjoy it., I like to play it after Arkham Asylum, and then continue with the series. Mostly because I liken it to Indiana Jones 2 while it is a sequel but is technically a prequel.

Batman Arkham Origins NEEDS a remaster,
It had the best story, best feel (christmas) and it was dark and menacing.
The only reason why people didn't like it and they KNOW it is because it's side missions weren't that great and there was no riddles trophies

The problem with origins is it’s NOT available on all major platforms because it’s the black sheep of the Arkham family. You can’t get it unless you have a ps3 or Xbox 360 or pc. It’s available on the PlayStation plus extra and premium tiers but they suck and it’s streaming only. It needs a good remaster. I was so disappointed when they did the Gotham knights game instead of a sequel to this. Anyway, merry Christmas 🎄

I just finished playing every Arkham game and I love them all but Origins is definitely a step down the combat feels less refined and I didn’t care for the twist of the Joker pretending to be Black Mask but it was definitely still a worth entry in the universe I wish Rocksteady would make another prequel and merge the amazing gameplay of Arkham Knight and superb story of Arkham City

I love this game. I received it along with an Xbox 360 for Christmas in 2013 and I couldn’t have gotten a better game for the time. Kevin Conroy is great he’s the Batdad but I loved how visceral and badass Roger Craig Smith’s version was in Origins. Pretty much everyone in this game feels that way with it giving us the best Bane adaptation and arguably the best Joker adaptation after Hamill.

People judged this game really harshly because it was fresh on the heels of Arkham Asylum and City, which were a hard act to follow.
Now, after Gotham Knights and Arkham Knight, with DC comics and movies in the dumpster, and a heap of way worse open world games having been shoveled out into the world, being the third-best Arkham game looks pretty darn good.

What's tragic is that the developers who actually built the game almost have no say in what's actually in the game. The greed machine takes over, the suits who are completely out of touch take over, make stupid demands like turn Arkham into Fortnite and make it work not knowing shit about games at all or their audiences, like what happened to dead space 3. It's all about the bottom line and fans and artists can get bent if they don't like it. This is what's plaguing the entire industry and watching how Sony has been acting lately, it's no longer just games being destroyed from greed, they're destroying their entire platforms being anti consumer and pro profit to a comical extent. What game console has ever gone up after 2 years on the market? Now games not worth $30 are being listed for over $70!?? Sony and Microsoft are hopefully about to kill their platforms doing this garbage

  • @redlaw861
    @redlaw861 Рік тому

Gotta be honest about the game
I really like the story that its telling with the great voice acting and cutscenes but other then that the game feels just like a big DLC for Arkham City. In terms of Graphics / Gameplay mechanics theres basically no changes / additions
Some bossfights are just straight copy and pasted out of Arkham City
And for the worst the traversing through the world is painfully slow. For an open world game i dont know how this got play tested and put into the final product. Takes out all the wind out of its sails literally and indirectly. And no the bad fast travel system with big loading times isnt an excuse for it.
But still other then that they did a great job with the boss fights and overall for any fan of the arkham games its still a good game to play imo.
As an overall experience I still would place it at the lowest out of the 4 games, regarding context of release year etc...

Ooo, I'll definitely be watching this one a bit later (doing my own Christmas run of the game atm, and also recording it). It's my favorite game in the series after City, and I would still rather they do a direct sequel to this one rather than anything they tried with Gotham Knights.

I'm not the biggest fan of the asylum game play until they "completed" the game play in city

I think that this is my favorite of the Arkham games. I didn't know that it was so divisive when it came out, but to me this game is all killer, no filler. It's a shorter playthrough, with a good number of classic batman villains to encounter and fight, and I suppose that's all I really need

The uninteresting environment, bland OST, and the janky combat really held it back from being on par with the other Arkham games. However I always beat every Arkham game 100% multiple times and I do think its strengths outweight its flaws. I think Origins deserved its mixed ratings.

On the point of the legal disclaimer I can confirm my 16x the detail mug did not make my manhood grow but it can hold a lot of liquid. The 16x the detail beanie is really nice and of good quality. Granted I was hoping to put it on my manhood if the 16x the detail mug worked as intended and grew it to a size that warranted putting a beanie on my member. Alas I guess I can just use it as a regular beanie and put it on my head. 10/10 merch in all other regards.
