Valve's new game leaked
My hero guides are mainly for people learning how to play Dota or for those who want to learn how to play a new hero. I aim to teach people the general concept of how the hero should be played and what makes it unique. I'm a Divine player around 5k and don't claim to be the best at Dota, but I do have enough knowledge and experience to help you learn the basics.

Just because icefrog is working on this game does not mean it will cannibalize dota 2 lol. they aren't the same type of game whatsoever
like no one is trying to leave Dota 2 for a third person shooter. I am hype as fuck for this, but as a Dota player I am never going to abandon my game for this.

It’s more about if Valve abandons Dota for the new game. I will never leave Dota and I think the game will always exist even if another company takes it and copies it exactly and calls it something else. But yeah, it’s more about valve and their support for the game than it is about people “switching”.
Looks like Savage, the game that was released prior to HoN & IceFrog helped develop HoN.

ive always dreamed of a more graphic intense dota,,, i imagine "first person shooter" is for aiaming your spells and auto attacks (right clicks) but by no means that will make it a shooter game.... probably no need for perfect aim, and headshots do not make a difference. but to move around and play like this is basically like dota 2 but pressing " i "

Was not aware of this leak. New game looks interesting, but who knows if it can be successful and sustainable in this landscape. Hope it will be a good game and develop a sizable and stable community.

Shit idea. Smite and similar games never worked for a reason and that's why Paragon, Battlerite, Paladins (loved this game) all pretty much died out faster than you can say Pikachu! Paragon was even developed and published by mighty Epic Games yet, with all of Epic's distribution power and money, Paragon only lasted 18 months in beta before being shut down. The player base just doesn't exist.
As for artwork and in-game models go, this looks terrible. At least Overwatch did something right before Blizzard committed seppuku by forcing Overwatch League.
As a Dota player, I'll rather take something Dota based. Yet, even Artifact and Underlords failed because community. Also, times have changed. I don't see how this can possibly succeed.
None of the games you're mentioning did what I am describing. Maybe I didn't describe it correctly but no, the player base for what I describe is basically the combination of everyone who plays WoW and Dota/League.

because everyone's scared of WoW, everytime an MMO comes out it blows up for a while and then stagnates in a couple months, its not worth the investment.
MMOs are really hard to make right now. I think something may come along eventually to replace WoW, but it is going to have to be revolutionary in ways we don't even understand right now.
If it’s not a “shooter” then it’s just Smite, and that game sucks.

I'm turning 26 in a few days and i feel so tired of all these "Competitive Team Based" games. Like i understand the appeal for a certain group of people but i genuinely believe that most people that play these types of games are having a miserable experience only playing it for a certain gratification seeing their virtual rank rise. I would much rather Valve work on a single player narrative driven game than these types of games. I'm still looking forward to what they have been working.
I'm 26 and I feel you, but do not let your boomer side take over. The thing about competitive team based is to play with friends, for real! Playing a fucking 6v6 ranked with 5 randoms is tough :( Hopefully you'll change your mind and have fun, don't push the ranked thing too hard, just try to enjoy the game you know... Idk maybe by saying this I'm feeling like a boomer but well I'm a tired young man already.

I was so hyped about this until I read the words competitive third-person hero based shooter. Give me a break and stop trying to compete with fortnite ffs.

Yeah, idk about the whole shooter thing like I said in the video. I mean, I guess if there was a lot of strategy involved with lane creeps and stuff that might be fine, but at the end of the day a shooter is a shooter and the depth is usually rather limited.

After seeing the abomination of CS 2 I am not very optimistic about this game. Hopefully they won't release a shitshow
valve's track record is too good to give that much of a shit over an update to a game that came out in 2012
I don't really play CS2 but I've heard some bad things about decisions Valve has made and that they haven't fixed a lot of the problems people have been talking about since it came out and it's been over 6 months.

Yeah idk what has happened to Valve but it’s been like 10 years and all they’ve done is release a Nintendo Switch but for the PC and Half Life Alyx which I guess was decent. Other than that they’ve failed miserably at everything. The worst part being they don’t really even seem to care about, learn from, or correct their failures. Like with CS2 they don’t even acknowledge them.
