In my life of 53 years two people whose renderation have brought tears to my eyes for the simple reason the pathos and the emotion they generate.. Pt.Paluskar and Pt.Kumar Gandharva. I can not forget Kumari's rendering of Nibar ki Jharaka , in Chayanat,on a cold , chilly night of Feb 1982 when bunked hostel to list to him.
Mozart's work is so immensely voluminous even at his small lifespan, it's almost incomparable. I'd compare UAK to Mozart. But UAK lived for 61 years. So, there goes the comparison.
Devine........ I just can't stop listening to this......and being a student of indian music, this just one recording of 18 mins is enough to know the essence of raga.
This is something divine and mesmerizing piece of Music! The Raga Swaroop is so nicely depicted by Panditji! You are immortal and your work is is so very beautiful! We are grateful to you! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful musical treat! 🙏🏻
The bada khayal often bring me a close connection with Kamod... as if it's not chaya Nat, but Kamod.... But, truely a gem of an artist no question on that
The ram-dhuns as these devotional songs are collectively knnown as , were recorded in Calcutta in remembrance of his illustrious fathe Pt. Vishnu Digambar, when he had gone to record Raga Shree.Unfortunately that is his last recording as he expired soon after he returned from Colcutta to Mumbai. Pt. Vishnu Digambarle in his last days used to sing only the ram dhuns, or even while singing rtagas used to utter name of Rama. This happened after it is beleived , he met Lord Shiva on his visit to Junagad in Gujrat.

there is a recording of kashalkar's chhayanat on the web that copies omkarnath's well known madras recording note for note, but doesn't come remotely close in quality to omkarnath or to this splendid paluskar recording.
Superlative! This is magnificent rendering of the raag. Words fail to capture the pathos and sweetness of this rendition. The only other composition that comes in my mind close to this rendition is his Raag Kedar. Another beautiful and masterful intonation.
Pandit Ji has performed beautifully and I have beautifully enjoyed his rendition.... I have also heard Bade Ghulam Ji too and beautifully enjoyed it. Boh these men sang with Heart, with emotion, and with devotion. They well forever be our Teachers and Guidance for the future!
sounds like a disc recording. possibly graphite or glass disc .all india radio used to record longer performances on these until reel tapes came into use.
Interpritation of raga should learn from him every single notes are easy to listen to, no rush just calm rithem, he was diligent student of clasical music, i always wonder he should not have gone to china, what if they gave him something bad to eat or bacteria of some sort that later caused him early death.
The name is not Dattreya but Dattatreya Vishnu Paluskar son of Pandit Shri Vishnu Digambar Paluskar who founded the Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya and re-established Indian Classical music from the kotha's of nautch girls to the platform of the educated and revered.

@MrSriman07 please dont bring this best better concept in music...everyone is unique...and well when you are listening to the DV Paluskar Ji,then better not to comparre him with anyone...he is considered as GOD and if he would have been alive for another 20 years the classical music history would have been written in diffrent way... :)

His life, his talent and his death reminds one of Mozart...he WAS the Mozart of Indian classical Music. Indian music has lost so many so young...
Good parallel ! But Wolfgang my friend was a true genius.
Exactly!
Yes. And also they both people of different times and music genres.

Oh! Mesmerising!!
Josh! Listening now ... yes! My teacher loved DV Paluskar. I am hearing the nat jaijaivanti connection for sure.

I have a recording of Ustad Ali Akbar Khan playing this Raag.
This recording is tremendous.
This is divine. better than even Ullhasji's rendition of the same raga I heard a few years back at a concert which i thought was ethereal.....
How can anyone dislike this?Certainly not understood his rendition of the raga.
THAT one never understood the meaning of LIKE and DISLIKE....just clicked some thing
God gifted talent with a devine soul.
Great singing and great sound quality- thousand thanks
Such a beautiful rendition ❤️🙏

Soul touching...
Wow!! Pleasant-soft voice brings peace in soul...
unparallel and excellent melody salutation to palusker ji
Stately , orthodox yet heavenly singing ! Still a colossal loss to ICM !

I like this interpretation of Chayanat. And might anyone name the great sarangi players here?
artsIlike Please don't refer to such a great personality by his name. Appropriate symbol of respect like Pandit, are greatly appreciated. Thanks
Kesarbai's brilliant sarsngiya( abdu?) majid khan is still alive. He could tell. But such
tayyiyari playing could be of Bundu
Khan's too.
Pandit Ramnarayan for sure.
@@jaideepperule5166 doesn't match the tonality of his playing.
Speechless
Indeed
Thank you for your uploading this wonderful recording. Today I learnt about a great past master and his music. Shanti Aum

This is a highly derogatory comment. There's nothing to "re-establish" among diverse musical forms.
omkarnthji sang this bandish as sudh nat in one of his records
he sang it as both shuddh nat and chhayanat in separate renditions
Why has utube deleted hari ke charana kamala by panditji....i demand explanation...
excellent
Bliss...!
also metal tapes
Badly truncated Radio recording. Someone should revive the rest
Rare...
Could someone please share the text of the bandish?

dattatreya ,not dattreya.
totally unspeakable...
This is not Chayanat
Then what is it, according to you?
As per my knowledge this is Raga Nat. It does not use the Komal Nishad which is present in Chayanat.
Some traditions do not use komal ni In Chhayanat. In the Maihar Gharana we don't use it
Then how is this different from Nat?
Since I am a student of Indian classical music, the info will be useful for me
