- Toy Story 5 has been announced by Disney. While Disney CEO Bob Iger didn't reveal concrete details about Toy Story 5's storyline or anything else, the mere fact that Toy Story continues is a devastating sign of the animation industry in theaters right now. Toy Story 3 and 4 both had perfect endings, so why is this movie happening?
Along with Toy Story 5, Bob Iger also revealed that Frozen 3 and Zootopia 2 are in the works. Walt Disney Animation Studios (and Disney Pixar) are both relying more on sequels than original ideas because that's where the money is being made. Will the Toy Story franchise ever truly end?

I kinda felt like Toy Story 3 was more of a penultimate installment rather than a finale considering Toy Story 4 concluded Woody's arc. All the way from Toy Story 2 Woody begins to learn the beauty of not being a toy, but his own personal. Toy Story 4 played with the concept of toys being independent beings rather than voiceless play things for children. To me, Toy Story 4 is the perfect ending for Woody and it works even better as a finale to Toy Story in general. That's why I'm worried about 5 because that might taint the quad's reputation and I just want it to remain as it is.
They could’ve ended the Toy Story franchise after Toy Story 3. The ending was just flawlessly perfect showing Andy growing up and moving onto college as a grown up and then passing on his toys onto another child. It really replicates the reality of kids growing up and then moving onto the real world, it really captures that image and that’s what really makes the ending so emotional.
Yes I agree, 4 is shit and 5 is gonna be hell raising. I’ll watch it but just to see how shitty it will be.
I think 4 was a better ending. Ultimately the series is called Toy Story. It's about the toys, not about Andy. Just that alone makes 4 much more important.

I agree, the only reason I wanted to see number 4 was just to see Bo Peep again. Number 3 was still the perfect finale to the Toy Story series. I have a bad feeling about this upcoming number 5.

There's three ways I see this going that would make sense:
- Woody's backstory
- Andy's side of what happened in the first 3 films
- Andy reuniting with Woody and learning of the fact that the toys are alive, along with catching up with what Andy was doing in college
And for ways that both would make sense and would be realistic to happen:
- Poorly
Post-credit scene 4: Forky finds a female counterpart to love. Could Forky and Knifey share a story in a 5th film?
If that's actually the case, which is, unfortunately, most likely not, Toy Story 5 may be acceptable enough lmao.

They should've went the route of having Bonnie grow up herself, with her giving her toys to another kid in the same vein as how Andy given his toys to her, but with the added caveat that while they aren't as nervous about losing bonnie, they still have to contend with the fact that kids these days are growing up too soon and that they are spending more time online with cocomelon and discord rather than with toys.

The smartest decision to make here would be for it to be a prequel to the whole series, since it already should’ve ended twice at this point. That actually could be a interesting direction to go in, maybe we can see how Andy got Woody and how Woody became attached to him.
Like the Pixar theory of Andy Dad’s being woody original owner.

That’s a great idea that’s what Toy Story 5 should be if they want another toy story. A prequel would be cool and un-intrusive. Amazing idea I love it.
There was actually a Backstory for the whole series that one of the original creators shared just before they passed. I won’t spoil anything, but if your curious, look up “Toy Story 0”
What they could do with Toy Story 5 is to create new characters with a good story to tell without them because Woody won't come back and Andy might have already ended university by that point (i still think it could have ended with Toy Story 3 because the ending tells that perfectly, Andy grew up and the toys will still live way after humans are instinct).
I had an idea a bit like this: tell the stories of toys we met but never found out what happenned to after we saw them last, like ultra belt Buzz-or ultility belt Buzz, as I used to call him-Zurg-his dad-the toys from Andy's room that also were given away between toy story 2 and toy story 3 that aren't Bo Peepe, like that robot toy or the snake toy.
Or, even the toys from the toy story of terror special, like combat Carl. Sure, that'd be a bit of an obscure reference, but they could just do a flash back or exposition dump to fill in the backstory for those who didn't see the special.
Disney seems to never learn. There’s no point for another movie after Woody abandoned Bonnie.

*1)* Is Tom Hanks returning as Woody?
*2)* If this movie follows Buzz and the rest of the gang, will they get there chance to be front and center again after being shelved in the last movie?

The best way for there to be a Toy Story 5 is if it’s a prequel in my opinion maybe they can talk about Andy’s past with his parents. Considering the dad isn’t present there could be a more serious topic to discuss about, and because this may be hard on the child we can see like the toys trying to help or something, there can be various of ways for Toy Story 5 to happen. However going forward I don’t think that is going to happen so what if we go backwards? Also may be hard but idk we will just have to see where this goes and hope for the best

I'm definitely interested to see what they could do with a toy story 5, maybe it's focused on the other toys and they need to get back to Bonnie for some reason, maybe Woody and Bo reunite with them somehow, there's potential, but if it lives up to the original 3 is another question entirely, we'll just need to see
I feel like there’s so much to tell, in terms of Andy’s dad he originally got the toy from a give way and the name on his foot was written by his father before he passed. We can see more stories with younger Andy or we can see the continuation of the present

@@amarolidris4324 Treasure Planet and Atlantis are like the most notable flops (from Disneys perspective) after their renaissance era. It’s a major reason why they put everything into 3-D after and basically needed to fully own Pixar cause they weren’t doing that well alone

Bonnie has No Use or Interest in Woody as a Toy. . .
@New3DSLUIGI364 actually yes she does. Woody just played it out of proportion. He changed his character to fit what ever the filmmakers could come up with and that's not cool. Bonnie still willingly played with him throughout the movie.
I could Imagin Andy being an adult and seeing the same toy when he was a kid and what would be even more interesting is all the villains like sid, the chicken guy, and the bear in one whole group where sid is more violent and the chicken guy being a scammer while the bear is seeking for revenge.
It would be interesting to see how the toys adapt to life without Woody and Jessie taking over. And no doubt we'll see how Woody and Bo are getting on in their new life together. I think they might have Woody try and find Andy and reveal himself to talk and move. But i hope we see Woody and Buzz on-screen together again. They did all end up finding Bo again after so many years, so anything's possible.
I love how we all collectively forgot that Lightyear is a thing that exists in the Toy Story universe and only further reveals Disney’s desperation.
I actually enjoyed Lightyear.

And we are also getting a _Frozen III_ and _Zootopia 2_ in fact I’m more excited for Zootopia 2 than the other sequels, and can’t wait to see Nick, Judy and the world of Zootopia again along with expanding the world and including other animals such as Birds and Reptiles.
Speaking of which now that _Toy Story 5, Frozen III,_ and _Zootopia 2_ have been announced I expect to see their worlds in the next KH games following _Kingdom Hearts IV_
There likely won't be any birds or reptiles considering the world of Zootopia consists exclusively of mammals, as confirmed by one of the directors

And just because Birds don’t live in Zootopia doesn’t mean they don’t exist, they probably live in a different environment/area away from the Mammal city based area of Zootopia same with the reptiles. So even if it’s unlikely they would appear in a sequel I wouldn’t rule them out cause Zootopia might not be the ONLY main area in the world.
The ONLY Animals that don’t exist in Zootopia are the Primates which according to the directors are similar to Humans, the Pinnipeds (Seals, Sea Lions, Walruses) and the Cetaceans (Whales, Dolphins), plus only Insects and Fish are the animals that are non-sentient and the only protein based meat consumed by the Predators.

I feel like with Woody leaving in Toy Story 4 felt like a "forced" decision to make to justify it's existence
But with Toy Story 5 I feel like they can have a full on happy ending with Woody and buzz reuniting. I just hope they make buzz smarter than when they dumbed him down in 4 and give the other toys a role to play like Rex, Slinky, Jessie, Ham, etc

If going by how it went in Toy Story 4 he only had about two to three lines iirc granted he didn't have a big role like in 1,2,3 but I hoped he'd say more since he was ok with the idea of his voice being put in the film after his passing

I really want the 5th film to have Buzz be the other Buzz from Toy Story 2. I mean We saw Zurg was taken to the daycare center in 3 with no Buzz #2 around, and it makes you wonder what and where he was doing ever since then. And it would make sense if he became a lost toy after the second film living his own adventure. That way you'd still get Buzz Lightyear tagging along with Woody that wouldn't interfere or contradict the ending of the 4th film.

I'm honestly hoping that they introduce us into new toys that have no relation to the original cast. That's the only reason I see why they would make another one, to tell more stories about other toys. I think it just makes sense for the movie. Though I may be completely wrong lol.

We never saw Woody’s backstory. We saw Jesse’s, but we never saw Woody’s so they should make Toy story five.
I remember few years back when they were advertising Toy Story 4, the directors explained how the 3rd movie was the end of Andy's story and there movie was the end of Woody's story. So does that mean that for this 5th movie, it'll be the end of Buzz's?
@@Creepycropper3610 Nah it can't be because Jessie will take the mantle as the toy's new leader and I'm interested to see what kind of potential this'll bring to the table. Plus, it'll be fun to see Buzz and Jessie officially tie the knot as a couple. which means that her story has just begun.
I suspect Buzz will go on his own journey or go on his own at the end of the movie like it will end with him walking away in the end.

Toy Story 3 ended on a perfect note. Toy Story 4 had it's moments but was lackluster. Disney are running out of ideas as much as it is, why force Pixar to do a 5th (and hopefully final) film?

I guess Woody and Buzz will reunite with Bonnie's family going vacation, this should be more of an epilogue type thing, and not trying to be another ending.
I would prefer a Woody origin movie. Him having a rough start as newly appointed sheriff, making new allies, and taking down a criminal named The Rotten Spud with nothing but a lasso.

I know I'm late but Toy Story 5 was probably announced to make up for the mass loss of money they had with Strange World and Lightyear.
They could've done Finding Marlin or Incredibles 3
I wouldn't mind a soft reboot, focusing on a new group of toys (with maybe one or two of the old cast) TBH. But I have doubts about whether that's the route they'll take.

I'm so ready for Frozen 3. I just hope they get the time they need to craft a cohesive story and Disney isn't afraid to let it be mature.

I kinda hope toy story 5 focuses on buzz light-year being the leader of the gang after woody left, possibly having a bit of struggles, and trying to keep everyone together. I hope also that they add woody sit next to buzz on the window sill looking out like they always did before (in toy story 1-2) it might be a nice touch to the movie
Zootopia 2 and Frozen 3 I'm definitely looking forward to since there's multiple possibilities we can go through (Mostly Zootopia), but I don't see anything possible for Toy Story 5. The 4th movie already ended perfectly and there's nothing else special we can do for a 5th movie, but maybe a TV series that shows what happens after Toy Story 4 with Bo and Woody going on adventures or something
Edit: What we should actually have than TS 5 in my opinion is a 3rd Finding Nemo movie, probably revolving around either the tank gang or Marlin going missing

Toy Story 5 should definitely show Woody and all the toys reuniting with Andy and focus on Andy and his kids.
Personally, I'm willing to watch as many Disney movie sequels or parts that they decide to make, due to the fact that it definitely gives you the nostalgic rush that you always wished for, however the only way that I will watch it is if they give it the same rhythm they give the previous movies -like toy story-
What I can predict for Toy story 5 is that it would reuse the iconic song "You got a friend in me" by Randy Newman

I'm wondering how they would implement Mr. Potatohead's character. Is he going to just get a few archival lines like in the last movie, or a new VA?
I think they could do that because his role was pretty small in 4, however if they do plan to use him more this time then their going to have to recast archival lines won't work in that case.

Can’t wait. Maybe we’ll see Toy versions of Buzz’s team from Lightyear. Could Andy come back with his own family? Will Woody and Bo’s team of Lost Toys reunite with the rest of the gang? Sequels mean it’s time to start speculating.
I can't wait either.......I hope that Woody proposes to Bo this time or they at least kiss! As much as I loved 4 I was a little disappointed that they did not at least kiss....especially since Woody had not seen Bo for 7 years!
I wouldn't be surprised if Bonnie goes against Andy's wishes again by not playing with Buzz Lightyear anymore and so he leaves the gang, but as a plot twist before doing so he gives Jessie a big long kiss

Well, after seeing it with my aunt, sister and cousin, we talked about how they could theoretically make a toy story 5 and 6 about how Buzz and Woody deal with their separation respectively.
The first two were the best. I wish they could make it to where Andy looks for his toys and keeps them for good. And shelves them forever in his home. That would be a great ending.
Toy Story 5 Plot: We follow Andy after college, seeing his graduation & meeting his friends, one day on a stormy night Andy gets into a car ascendant, and wakes up as a toy
It's now up to some familiar toys to help Andy get back to normal, while also trying to avoid a child that is even worse than Sid
Haven't seen Strange World but as far as I know Disney just did a terrible job at advertising it. I didn't even know it existed until long after its release.
Unfortunately, it makes sense. Outside of the Marvel films and Avatar 2, Disney's movies this decade so far have NOT been performing well at ALL, ESPECIALLY comparing it to the competition and last decade.
No films from them broke into the top 10 highest grossing box office in 2020.
Only 1 film even cracked the top 10 in 2021, and not even half a billion at that.
Of course, the Marvel films are doing insanely well. The problem here is Disney itself.
Biggest example: they refused to put out Pixar films for almost 3 years, and when they did, it didn't do well due to Minions 2 about to release.
