Thanks! I'm getting the consultation on July 4th, and am really hoping it's just a lumpectomy, but I'm at peace if it has to go beyond that. My surgery is in August and I'm a nervous wreck, but I'm crossing my fingers and toes that all goes well. Love to you too, sweetheart! 😁💗

It's definitely nerve wracking but I found the nurses and technicians in the chemo labs are amazing. Remember to keep hydrated, take the anti nausea meds (even if you don't think you'll need them), bring a book or yarn project, and trust the process. I'm so sorry you're going through the same journey I am, and I'm sending all the love and virtual hugs. It may not feel like it, but you've got this. 💗

I've got friends and family telling me that I'm killing this, but all I'm really doing is getting the treatments and doing all the appointments, etc. I'm grateful for all the votes of confidence, but I'm just doing what I have to so I too can stick around for another decade or so. It's intimidating a.f., but a good support system makes all the difference. Plus, I heavily recommend seeing a counsellor, either in person or virtual sessions, if there are any available through the cancer centre you'll be going to. I've been chatting with one here in southwestern Ontario and she's helped me a LOT.
The shipping in America basically doubles the cost per skein. I'm not sure about Canada. I really want Ice Yarn, but I have Hobby Lobby and always end up buying too much when the sake it for pennies. As a Mom to a daughter with a complex medical condition involving a cancer causing gene...you are stronger than you realize! She was expected to live a week at birth. This July, she turns 23. We take it one day at a time. I taught myself to crochet to make items for children when I am unable to sleep sitting by her bedside in the hospital. They didn't like my sewing machine.😉
