I have been playing with James for a little while now, he’s not the first person I’ve taught how to play Tarkov personally, and I'm sure he wont be the last. But, over the years I’ve found ways to give new players starting out have a much easier time getting into this game.. and that's kinda what this video is about. Sharing the knowledge I give to any new person starting Tarkov, but this time around you get to see the results in action through the perspective of James. I want this to be inspiration for those starting out.. that getting your first big win isn't that far away.. you’re capable of it, you just need a push in the right direction.

Note for new players, bring the gear you are comfortable with (some sort of preped kit you can recreate any time), Its less frustrating this way especially while dying with some good loot, upgrade the kit with your experience, you will die anyway so try to do your best and dont attach to in game stuff for the sake of your sanity
Gear comes gear goes, if you can’t replace it then it’s just a free trial.
Nah just run the best gear you can all the time, scav junk box asap
I agree, just wish there weren’t so many quests that force you to run specific janky kits. Not looking forward to all the shoreline tasks this wipe lol.

Additional Gear Tip: don't be afraid to save the most meta guns for when you have good ammo to run with them! Ammo is the most important part of your kit except maybe heals

Lew, this is my first time watching one of your videos and I just wanna say I truly did enjoy this content. I hardly ever watch an entire UA-cam video but this I sat all the way through. I would love for content like this every week, I know editing, making content and being involved in the community can be a lot. Keep going cause you're doing great things here!
The biggest lesson we can all take from this video, especially the final clip is not to be greedy and just head to EP once we find good enough loot.

New players won't have access to a Gizzly. For early wipe I put a esmarch in the first pocket keyed to 4 press; bandage in the second pocket keyed to 4 release and an A1 in the third pocket keyed to 5. As I level up I can upgrade the esmarch to a calok etc, but keep the same keybinds. I'll put a painkiller in the last pocket (6) once I actually start surviving enough.

As i new tarkov player who has a friend with over 5k hrs in this game, his knowledge (my friends) has help a lot to get used to basic stuff, still the game is hard to understand as of looting in general, what to take what to discard (as it is said in the video in the beggining). If ur not lucky as i am, with having an experienced friend in tarkov, this video will help you so so much, highly recommend every watch this. happy new year

Side note: Something that I've heard before, but I've been told that when the Goons are on the map, the other boss that can spawn will be put into like a queue. So meaning after you killed the Goon s, then Reshala (who was actually meant to spawn in that match) will only spawn a bit after the Goons have been killed. Might be a creditable theory seeing your vid now
Weapon stripping tips for newbies if you don't have any space - loot every suppressor that's not pistol surpressor (9×18, 9×19, 7.62×25 cuz they usually will be cheap) scope that looks expensive or you don't know (cuz it might be way too expensive for you to know), has high zoom, is thermal and grips that add a lot ergo (+8, +9, +10). Everything else depends and you need to know the prices.

Note-scavs aim can be frustrating. lf you peak them more than once from the same angle they can one tap you, use any nades to make them move then shoot them while they are bolting...or let them come to you, hold, and try to go for headshot. (Decent practice is offline mode, horde amount ai in factory and just face tap away)

I wish you guys had done this vid with low level gear. Gear makes a massive difference in this game. When I started play a couple weeks ago I was using starter gear, then at the end of the last wipe we had access to all end game gear basically free and magically I was surviving nearly every raid and getting a couple kills each time. Definitely not what a noob should be expecting fresh wipe
The friendly encounters we have in this game are so much more memorable than the ones where we just kill someone. I had a raid yesterday on labs where i ran into this naked fella, helped him get some loot from 3 players i killed and some raiders, and my heart was broken, when he turned a corner and got one tapped by a raider as we tried to leave ):
The AI in this game is just depressing. Like post soviet states.

even with all your tips i just get tarkov'd about every game ive gotten into since i started playing the last 3 weeks im getting nades tossed on me 4 minutes after spawning when i havent even moved they need to randomize the spawns or something cuz my spawns have just been hot spots constantly
@2Lew How is that, for lack of a better phrase, ‘third-person’ footage captured, out of curiosity? Where characters’ whole person is shown from a spectator perspective? I’ve seen it with other creators as well (ex. Rust) and am interested in dabbling in that area myself.

I went into the game with a squad of new players and I couldn't make it past shitty ak and level 3 armor in quite a few wipes. Wish I had some chad friends like you!
When Reshala dies, his guards do spred out around dorms, but I've seend them hug the fortress just like here.
I'm 45 Seconds in and I already love the idea. Will have to watch later tho so I'll just leave a little algorythm boost here~

aw, mate, I really wish I had a friend like you to teach me the basics and to raid with. I played a bit with an ex sherpa, but he didn't really take the game seriously anymore. He referred me to his friends, but they basically taught me to lay camping a corridor for 20 minutes while the cracked guy in the group went around clearing everything.
I wanted to play a bit to prepare for next wipe, but now that they poisoned Customs I think it'd be quite hard to play the first missions

when i played alot there was one interchange map i played where i killed a squad of 4 with a pistol after stash running and i got 4 thermals and died at the extract from a light bleed and a blacked stomach
Man, I love your content and I so wanna play the hell out of this game which I still try but Idky my computer struggles so much like more than it should it seems as I have a 3070 RTX with a Ryzen 5 2600 and Im stuck at like 50-70 fps with “good” settings. If anyone has suggestions on what I could maybe do to fix it I’m open to try cause idk what to do as I’ve been stuck with this

I have 4k hours on Rust myself and have played various other shooters. The hardest thing for me to learn is the balance between agression and passiveness. When to push vs. when to camp a corner. And in Tarkov this balance can vary drastically. On woods I like to circle fights, pick people off from the edges with medium range weapons. On factory I will put on an altyn helmet and some Juggernaught armor standing in front of some shotgun dude unleashing my PPSH into his nether regions. Then on Streets I will catch a random bullet to my face while jiggle peeking and kissing the ground. The realism and therefore chaos of armed combat makes Tarkov's mechanics very unique and no situation is exactly the same. The devil lies in the details. It is also very interesting how meta armor can only do so much for you and skills like positioning, timing, game sense are always more important than the kit you wear. Got lvl 6 armor? Get your legs shredded.

Are you still using the same postfx or have you changed it? Your game looks so visible even in the dark :O
Ive gone in to like every raid with comtac 4s since flea market unlock. If you know how to make money and loot run, money really isnt an issue. I would suggest learning maps on scavs as well. Scav runs are a lot less stressful and you can get a lot of good gear off of them.
Videos like this make want to get and play tarkov but I know my pc couldn’t handle this game, one day I’ll get the money for a better pc and play this game
Goons being there was blocking reshala spawn so when u cleared put goons reshala spawned. This also happens with the goons and the cultists on customs
by the way lew the reason reshala was in fortress is bc when one boos spawns the other spawns when the other dies

i killed all 3 Goons on customs the other day with a UMP with the worst ammo xD, to be fair they kinda rushed me near old gas. just mag dumped each of them. GREAT video love how you are teaching James.

I know this is rather old but I'm confused. Why do you drop bags before a firefight? Is it like a n insurance thing you can go back in raid and grab it. Or to get a movement speed buff so you are a little more free when fighting.
Mainly movement and I guess it can save ur backpack for insurance
