Rogan gaslit the hell out of Brendan.. kind of fucked up really.
I remember when Schaub quit the UFC and went full on into podcasting and stand up, Joe kept talking about how great Brendan was doing at stand up. I remember several times Rogan using Brendan as an example to the "lazy comics" he knows and how Brendan has improved so much in such a short time because he has an "Athletes mentality" and he works as hard at standup as he did at MMA.
I remember all this praise and compliments from Joe forever, I watched TFATK and actually enjoyed it at first.. When I finally watched Brendans stand up, I legit said to myself: "What the fuck is this.."
Rogan put Brendan on, gassed him up, then let him fail.. seems like things started to go bad after Brendan carelessly mentioned that "Rogan slings dick" then there was the situation with Bobby Lee which effectively made Brendan and Bryan pahrias.

Rogan! It was all Joe. In the beginning of Brenda’s comedy career he was anomaly or Oddity. His original writers moved on and are now real standups. He can’t write! That’s his problem.

Also, Lee & Joey have a new podcast, called The Check In. It’s usually runs a little over an hour, one episode per week. Lee has continued to perform at shows, and is putting in the work, and working on his routine. They chop it up for a bit discussing Lee’s weekly stand up sets, and Joey gives him a lil bit of guidance, and a good amount of encouragement. Not overbearing with his advice, more of a light touch with it. I’ve enjoyed listening to them again. It’s not The Church, and they aren’t trying to be. They both realize they had a good crazy run in LA, but know that they can’t try to recreate the magic.

Jonny Mitchell has a podcast on crime interviewing dealers and traffickers from around the U.S has a legit following and is a legit stand-up in his own right. He told story of contacting Brendan about being on TFATK a few years ago before he gained his following and got quickly shut down saying he was not big enough. Man, Agostinho its so hard to feel at all bad for Brendan when at every turn he seems to almost want to come off as the bad guy. Its weird I have never seen someone at his age makes such bad decisions, its like he is in his own reality T.V show only he is the one that is not aware of it.
When it cam out branda did standup he claimed he already been doing it for for years, he also claimed his football coach lived in the Jon Banet Ramsey house

Taylor Swift didn't start in Stadiums 5 days a week. She was doing the hard yards in county fairs to like 20 uninterested people. Brendan just wanted to go straight to the stadium without the hard work. He should have known better considered all that hard work he put in to get into the UFC.

Had TFATK done live podcasts for 2-3 years then Brendan try stand-up it might have gone much better for him. I think a combination of Callen being unreliable touring and Brendans ego shut that idea down. Brendan trashes live podcasts but many people do them successfully so not sure why he feels that way.

I actually think Brendan was way way way better at comedy when he first started than now, he just put less and less effort in as he went and got dumber and dumber probably a result of his addictions
i could believe that, because back then he actually had a "passion" for it, he seemed excited about the possibilities of it and back then he had a lot of help with writers, deric poston and bert kreischer helped him write some shit respectively. but as the years went by he got lazy, started going through the motions and most importantly got involved with too much drama, which eventually led to the comedy community turning against him. the crazy thing is all of that shit was self-inflicted, so he has no one to blame but himself.

I just find it funny that anyone thinks any of them, Schaub, Diaz, Dillon, or Rogan, are funny. It's like back up players arguing who are the better back ups on a team. Most of 😊Rogan's comedian friends including Rogan himself are terrible stand ups
