Been running an Aygo gen 2 for 5 years as a commuter and nothing has gone wrong........ever. It's less than £200 to insure tax free and over 60 mpg. This thing is cheaper to run than a unicycle and much more comfortable.

Couldn't care less for the car. Came for the humor. Never disappointed.

I've had one of these for a few months now-- I drove lots of sportscars back home in the US, and do you know what? I love they Aygo. I live in a small city now with lots of nice countryside around and extremely expensive fuel. The Aygo is fantastic for my short commute to work-- it's easy to drive, fits well on our tiny streets, manages to handle the absurd raised crosswalks and speed-control-pyramids that haunt all of our roads, and does it all relatively comfortably. It's the perfect size for throwing yourself and your backpack, or yourself plus a bit of shopping into, and yet I can also take my coworkers out to lunch when I need to-- the back seats are pretty comfortable and have a genuinely surprising amount of headroom for such a small car.
On days off, the Aygo is great for making little escapes from the city-- it's certainly not a sportscar, but I really enjoy that little 3-cylinder engine-- it makes baby 911 noise when you step on it, and it's a fun and entertaining car to drive because of the Porsche sounds and general enjoyment of being able to push a small, light, low-powered car to the limits of its ability while still not actually going too quickly (good thing in a country where a Porsche-sized speeding fine would probably be half your annual salary).
There are only two things I wish were different about the Aygo:
    - Suspension setup could be a little less rolly / understeery (just sell a "sport" variant with different setup)
    - Gearbox operation is fine, but the gear ratios themselves are just way too high-- particularly for an engine with so little power. Starting in first gear in the Aygo feels like starting in second gear in a normal car. Third and fourth gear have almost no use-- I can hit the speed limit on most city roads in first gear and the speed limit anywhere in the country in second. I know it's probably done this way to inflate fuel economy numbers in some testing regime, but it's an incredible shame for them to have implemented these ratios like this: the car would feel much peppier with shorter, closer-spaced gears, and you can always have a bigger gap up in fourth & fifth gear for highway fuel economy. Not only would the car be more fun, but I noticed when driving used examples that most of them had clutches that felt like they were almost entirely burned up-- I feel like this would happen much less if the car had a proper ratio for first gear, as people wouldn't be melting clutches all the time trying to accelerate from a stop in what feels like it should be second gear on an engine with no torque output. Especially important for "the kids" who are probably just learning to drive manual as well! I'm used to driving all kinds of cars and clutches including ones with lightweight racing flywheels that are super easy to stall / hard to start from a stop, so it kind of works for me, but I can easily see how a new driver in one of these cars would eat their clutch up in record time.
I know this car is just dead now (replaced by dumb-as-rocks "Aygo X"), but a "Sport" version of the Aygo with a slightly different suspension setup close-ratio gearset (maybe even a LSD :D) and maybe a sport muffler would've been extremely cool.

I’ve got to say this is way better than any of the other car review videos. At first I thought the guy was annoying but by the end I was enjoying his patter. Keep up the good work and well done for bringing something different to this kind of video. 👏

I don't know what's wrong with me , I do loads of driving (around 50 miles a day ) and I have a lovely 2013 BMW 1 series but for some reason , I really really really want an Aygo

Oh my word! I also have a 2013 120D but am considering getting one of these. It's the simplicity that appeals; it does what it does and nothing more but it does it well. Did you change from your Beemer?

Just great for parking in Waitrose and watching the WAGS in the 4x4s attempting (sic) to drive nose in . Gives me more fun - and smug. Keep rolling.

Nice cars for the price. Not as fun as the first gen, but not as tinny either. They may be objectively slow, but they're still one of the fastest cars on the road when wearing courtesy car stickers.

Had a previous gen one as a hire car. Hilarious thing to drive and didn't seem to mind the appalling abuse that was heaped upon it. For such a small car I found it surprisingly comfortable as well

Agree with everything you've said. I recently got rid of my 2012 vw up and I did a Yorkshire to Devon trip in it and it was okay. By okay I mean it was surprisingly good on the cruise and when I got out I wasn't a crippled versioj of myself 😂 great little cars which can fit 4 people and a few small suitcases in.

it's a A to B device that will probably do it every day for years without problems with minimal running costs, unless you have been sucked in by the modern day got to show off with a big inefficient unsustainable SUV then this is ideal not just for first time drivers like all the reviewers are saying because who is buying such a new car for their first?

Great stuff Mark. Driven a few of these (well, the C1) and we've got an old 107. Still a great small car IMO.

More style than the Yaris or Corolla, at least the versions available in the U.S. Unfortunately, we won't get the newest Yaris, but instead will get a re-badged Mazda2 and now only with automatic transmission, no manual transmission, yet the price leader Corolla L was (supposedly) available with a manual transmission, though that will probably go away for the 2021 model.

I learned to drive in a Daihatsu Charade - it was laughably bad at the time and much much worse than the Aygo of today but has it come far enough? Not for me.
... which i'm sure they wanted to call iGo but got stopped by Apple
