Nice torch work. I'd like to have a dollar for every plow bolt I've changed. I spent over 35 years changing grader blades, plow blades, and other cutting edges.
Great idea on the cutting edge for dirt etc. I just tighten the bolts with a big impact then peen over the end of the bolt with a hammer, not had any come loose yet. Thanks for sharing.🇬🇧
Very nice design! I built something very similar for my tractor bucket and it works great! I teach high school welding and love your repair and fabrication videos. I’ve been using them some for instruction materials during our virtual schooling by sharing your video link in google classroom. It’s good for them to see an owner operator doing their own repairs.
I'm not at all disappointed in the look of that blade. I'm into function over form and that blade looks like it will do most anything you ask. I'd be mighty proud if I could do half as well.
I hope you saved those drops. You could utilize them for bucket repair later. A little preheat and some 7018 make those a lot more weldable than some people think!
@@davidmorse8432 Sure. You could even make them work as patching material between the teeth on weld in cutting edge. You could even batwing a tooth with one of them. Even use them as a weld on pad for the side of a dozer blade. Preheat 7018 weld then quench they will harden right back up
Allen from Allen's Welding is right handy with a torch as well. Frank you are pretty dang good with that hot wrench as well. Don't touch it...it's hot!
Great Video Sir, Been looking for a serrated cutting edge for my JD310 and i think this might be the way to go !!!! your friend from cold and snowy Michigan !!!
Nice video! I've never ran a serrated cutting edge but from every video I've seen they seem to do a great job. I've always thought they would do well on the rear of the machine and on a hoe here in Michigan where we have nice clay and topsoil. Basement digs would be super clean with one of these cutting edges.
You can't notch the flipside of the old one now & have it ready to go for the next change? (Can you send us some of that rain without the ice, lol.) You've got a steady cutting hand, I'd need a pattern & plasma cutter!
Hey Frank be careful, the end of that cutting edge looks like it might be hot, so don't touch it... hahaha... Looks pretty darn good. You say you are no "I C Weld", I am a fan/subscriber of his channel, he is very unique, and very skilled, however you have shown some of your particular welding skills as well in a couple of your videos... Great video, Thank you sir. Merry Christmas to you & yours...
This looks like a good project for my OC46 when it's ready to go back in the dirt. My problem is, the current edge is welded on, and I would need holes for the bolts. Maybe a good plasma cutter, in a steady hand, could cut small square holes for "plow bolts"?
Think you will be on a while trying to get a bucketfull of sparks Frank 🤣 Looking forward to seeing this in the soil sir 👍💪💪💪 Oh, and happy Christmas to you and your family sir 🎄🇬🇧😁
I can see how that would work awesome! I have a skeleton rock bucket that has points *(teeth) about 3" apart and I use it all the time to remove grass and to chop up grass and back drag for final grade topsoil when it has grass in it, it chews it up awesome and incorporates it right in. I have a smooth edge bucket I might try this on if I get a free afternoon. Thanks.
Looks like your bucket is getting thin time for some wear strips to get another couple thousand hours out of her. Cutting edge bolts I usually just crank them up tight with an impact never really had them come loose. Making sure the bucket and cutting edge are clean so they mate tightly together the bolts stay tight.
Frank Rezlo☻ get it........cause Rezlo makes those edges...................lord I apologizze If you watched a DigginOK cutting torch video and can't see, you may be eligible for compensation. contact the offices of Flywheel , Shister and Paydirt for a free consultation
Yea you can buy a pre made rezloh edge or make your own and save $400 I have one on my skid loader and love it, all my backhoe does is load my dump truck at the lot so it doesn’t get much use
Hmm. I guess you hit the point making that type of blade. You made compromise between teeth and straight edge blade.. It's nice idea 💡. If I may, Im gonna show your video to my friend, who work on road grader, he could use that type of blade to scrape gravel roads. Me, honestly, I prefer to work with straight edge on my backhoe.
perhaps a chunk of sheet metal.. with a 3" tooth pattern cut into it.. bent in a 1" step and the back end bend down over the back edge of the cutting edge would allow you to use some vice grip C clamp pliers and guide the sides of the cutting tip about an inch up from the surface to cut perfect teeth.. but hindsight is 2020..
John Deere sells them for their graders. They make a segmented design for loaders called, "Jags". These are small interlocking segments that can be flipped when they wear out. Lots of bolts though. Probably not practical for backhoe/loaders.
Ha! You mentioned Isaac from ICWeld in your video. He's in a class all by himself. You do a pretty good job too, and what you do gets the job done!
Nice torch work. I'd like to have a dollar for every plow bolt I've changed. I spent over 35 years changing grader blades, plow blades, and other cutting edges.

I tightened with impact, checked torque just for good measure, it should stay tight
That toothed edge works! I think the different spacing will reduce the wear on the bucket. Outstanding job Mr. Frank!

You're damn closer to icweld than you think! Instant sub.

You are right, weld those cut outs to the sides and bottom of the bucket to reduce wear from abrasion.

Pretty nice. You can use the bottom of the bucket to drag out anything you want really smooth.
Enjoyed your videos this past year. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Having never cut with a torch, I'm still amazed how accurate a torch can cut.
Takes some skill lol trust me I suck with a torch
Very clever design Frank. You have the best of both worlds. Saves changing buckets or removing teeth.
That is a great idea! I can only imagine how good it works. Thank you for sharing.
Well done Frank. Merry Christmas.
Similar to the Rezloh edge, they work well also. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
I'm really happy with my Rezloh edge

Good morning Mr. Frankc. With the tools Mr. has to do everything. Really good ..👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👊💪
That right there is gonna work.
I do believe I’ll be doing this to my skid steer cutting edge soon.
That is a nice idea, well done Frank.
Good job again. That sure would look incredible mounted on the front bumper of a purple charger.

Great video! Great idea too!
I got a 72" cutting edge from titan attachments seems Okay. Love to watch you work and weld thanks David
👍👍 looks like it’s going do some good work.
Merry Christmas to you and your family Frank thanks for an entertaining year during Covid 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

Have seen guys drill holes then square them with a torch, pretty tedious work. Love the Oliver crawlers, not many around these parts
Nice job Frank.. Wish I could cut like that on my rig...yeah just takes more practice..
That's a darn good idea!!!!!!
Think you will be on a while trying to get a bucketfull of sparks Frank 🤣
Looking forward to seeing this in the soil sir 👍💪💪💪
Oh, and happy Christmas to you and your family sir 🎄🇬🇧😁
Looks good.
I bet that would work for the 613 scraper, some aggression and you can use it to finish.
I say give yourself a pat on the back you do learn from your mistakes.😆
Nice Job on the design of the the cutting edge.
Merry Christmas Cunningham Family 👍🇺🇸
Turned out Nice!!

You are right once you try it you wont go back. I cut the front edge of my land plane as well and it gets through the grass in half the time.

Looks good it should last another 10,000 hour.
Merry Christmas and God Bless you all.
Good video Friend keep them coming and please send some of that snow ❄️ over here please thanks 😂
You Going to patent your invention Frank. I'm surprised you didn't paint it New Holland Yellow 😁😄
Frank Rezlo☻ get it........cause Rezlo makes those edges...................lord I apologizze

You can fix my backhoe any time you're bored & need something to do!
👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🗽🙏🏻 Enjoyed! Nice job! Since the old blade was reversible could you have cut teeth out of the other side and used it?
It was awful thin, could have done it but I’d rather start fresh

You can buy them already done here in Canada with a rough coating on the tip from Cat dealers if your interested also they are double sided.
Yes I realize they can be bought, but not cheap for a New Holland backhoe. I don't think Cat makes them for New holland, but I will check. Thanks
After I torque em down, I always take a chisel and fuck up the threads so they can't back off very far. Like the idea for making teeth, thanks!
Very very good
I’m pretty sure you can buy cutting edges like this. My skid steers got one. Might be called a Sharktooth edge
John Deere sells them for their graders. They make a segmented design for loaders called, "Jags". These are small interlocking segments that can be flipped when they wear out. Lots of bolts though. Probably not practical for backhoe/loaders.
Good way to save some $, well done sir.
I may have to make me one of those
Someone makes cutting edges like that, might save you some trouble, but nice cutting with a torch!
Bad thing about cutting with a torch is that some of the temper of the steel is lost.
Could you of used the other side of the old one and cut teeth on the unused side?
Not sure if it is ICWeld approved , but it is most likely Paydirt approved .
They look more attractive when you look at the price to buy one.
That’ll work!!! And looks sexy too...
#newhollandgetsdentalimplants
Looks darn nice and really thick - these teeth shouldn't need fillings, that's for sure.
