Wow this is a very relatable movie. Having lived in India, like almost every Indian girl I have gone through eve teasing and molestation. When you are a child you dont understand these things but once they start happening to you there is more understanding of this issue. First time when I was molested on the street near my home I was almost frozen and could not run although I wanted to run away. My legs were shivering and I could hardly walk. As time passed by, these things became more common. But one day I just had enough and did not want to take it anymore and the day came when I took things in my hand. I joined a self defence course like these girls in the movie and always carried a pepper spray along. My self esteem increased and after some months when some boys in the market made some disgusting comments about me and tried to snatch away my dupatta, I implemented what I learnt and used the spray too. Last but not least I screamed so loudly that it was like a thunder. They ran away like cowards but no passer-by came to help which is just shameful in India. So girls what I want to say is that you have to protect yourself.
Sonu Kumar dude she is talking about almost every girl she has gone through or met which doesn't mean every india's girl however this is an issue. So maybe first learn to read then comment about it ☺
May be dislikes are for the fact that suggested solution is not practical and once again the wholesome responsibility of protection had been burdened on the victims/target (girls) themselves rather than owning it up by the society and administration. It is one of solutions Society already has decided: stay home, wear proper clothes etc.... Just escape as long as you could and when you can't, we will find an excuse to blame it on you anyway.
Many people are not aware whether they should like and dislike . they generally dislike to show their anger towards the increasing rape cases. Try to understand everyone , Be kind . Don't be a fanatic.
That Day After Everyday, what a large short film. The outstanding shot on one of our society's social and domastic issues, taken by Anurag Kashyap, and written by Nitin Bhardwaj. All of the star cast cast did excellent performance.👍👍👍
"THAT DAY AFTER EVERYDAY", PORTRAYS THE TRAUMA THAT WOMEN HAS TO FACE ALMOST EVERYDAY NICELY. To boys: Being "cool" is not when u insult others but when u start to respect them. This film made me remember my experiences in the past. Every girl faces such situations in her life, thats a general statement. My experience has taught me that the memories of such experiences never fades with time,it remains sharp and haunting u at times. Eve teasings and harassments while travelling is an insult, the trauma that we face aftr that is terrible,it changes u ,ur perceptions ,ur attitudes ,ur confidence....all shatters.Makes us wish that we were not born as women.

What the hell police used to do when girls were humiliated and harassed and it comes when it wasn't required? Shameful part of this entire movie was the time when all men were just spectators... When girls were self defending themselves. Thankfully, I m not that kind of guy
No, there can be other ways to look at this situation too. If the men from the start have been the kind to defend the females in such situations, this short film wouldn’t have had this impact first of all, because in reality men get scared of goons just as women do but the sad part is “scared men” teaching the women and girls to be restricted. And as for this situation it’s good that they let the girls fight, it’s like an incident set on stone for that mohalla, it was a much needed lesson those men needed to learn and for that it’s good that they chose to stay put even this time as they had every other time.
@@shivangi6548 agree with ur points as well . Sad that we often witness that on ground. If girls set the trend, it is for the entire society to defend them if similar incident happens again.

That bus part was so relatable..has happened with me and my friend many a times. We go to Delhi janakpuri for neet coaching..we are in 11th class ..just 16yrs old. Everyday we get into the bus after a careful examination..we never enter the crowded ones and never go to those last seats idk why but it's like they are reserved for men. Once we were in a crowded bus and a young boy with his 2 other fellows who all were around our age ..or perhaps he was 18 ... That boy came in front of us and since the bus was crowded (when I say crowded it means everybody was just STUFFED in the bus..u know what DTC buses are like)..he pressed my friends breast and she screamed so hard....while the other 2 were behind us and kept pinching and slamming our butts .... It was really hurting..they were pinching so hard...we both started crying..many aunties around us knew what was going on and still they didn't do anything.... Meanwhile me and my friend were crying and we tried hard to control our tears...my friend was more hurt than me becuz of that boy... No-one did anything...later on when the bus got a little spaced..one aunty came and asked us 'beta what happened??' We shouted at her and said was she dead that time and now coming here thinking of her to be some angel...my friend was even more loud Aunty said "these Delhi girls are so uncultured ..they arouse men and then shout...if I had a daughter like u girls I would have killed her with my own hands " and she called us 'bigdi hui ladkiya'.. Everyone was quit this time too..just like before..even the conductor bhaiya didn't spoke a word We are very simple normal girls and were decently dressed with our akash institute's shirt and jeans ..god knows why she called us that But we were really hurt..we cried so much ..that whole day I felt so strange and I didn't study anything (while preparing for neet every single day is important).. I didn't tell my parents or they would sent my brother to pick me (I like traveling with my friend and this is first time I stepped out of my house alone for an entire new city and that too with a friend so I just didn't wanted my brother with me) After that incident..it happend with us again..this time it was an old age man..and once an uncle kept his hand on my back.. I don't think this will ever change.. Some people do make a face expressing they are sorry for us or angry about the situation but never move an inch or utter a single word.....
How are you sis now? And how is your preparation going? I'm frm west Bengal I want too study frm Delhi or Kota for best results. But my family Never Allow me to live in these cities becoz of these type or extreme cases..take care sis♥️ may Allah bless you

Me n my 3 friends stuck in this kinda situation they were 6 n tried to misbehave with us but when my friend slap one guy they all started kicking us badly, luckily I ran from there n was trying to find someone for help bcoz I lost my mobile there, I found one house n start ringing the door bell again n again same time the boys started running to me n same time that family opened the gate without asking anything they have understood the matter n that time that family beat them badly n in last we all went to police for FIR but police said they r drunk so they can't take action!!!! What rubbish!! What's wrong with this government no one knows....... But in last we all understood that if something gonna happen wrong we have to face it n deal it by self bcoz no one will help... So girls don't ask or wait for help just be brave n finish the basterds!!!
The nonsence which i heard in the starting few minutes .... i swear if i was there i would have given a slap to him and would have thrown the hot tea straight to his face !!
I wish more such films were made where they potrayed a strong narrative of women fighting back for themselves against the evil side of the society, instead of them just waiting helplessly for someone to come and help.
Why should these girls go to self-defense classes? Why these girls (the victims) should be the ones who teach them a lesson? All girls will never have the energy/resources/time to do that. Why nobody else can make them understand? If one strong girl tries to teach a boy a lesson, the lesson leant by him will be 'to identify a weaker girl next time!' Boys should hear it form their family, cousins, schools teachers, govt., police, etc.. The entire society! The part that I would highlight in this video would be the way people were just watching doing nothing in the end. These people need not brutally start hitting those boys but a crowd (SOCIETY) can easily help a bunch of boys understand simple meaning of respect!
Exactly. That's what society needs to do. They either blame the girl or except her to learn to fight. And what are the men and society expected to do? Carry on?
andilove18 "And what are the men and society expected to do?" Men are expected to die younger than women. They have a lower life expectancy. They are far more likely to be a victim of murder... almost 2.5 times more likely in 2012 in India. They are more likely to face any sort of violence. Sexual assault is only an exception because the government writes laws so that men can't be a victims of those crimes. Who is teaching men that it's okay to kill men but not women? I ask because there is some clear sexism in who murderers chose to kill.
Be practical, stop being stupid philosophical. In the real world this kind of shit doesn't work, When you know there are 1000 wild dogs outside and you want to train them, really? puppies can be trained, not the wild ones. Do you really think every parent in India would teach good things to their sons? What if a father is a rapist or he had harassed women. Stop bullshitting about society and prepare yourself to fight your own fight. If people like Yogi becoming Chief Minister in India (Guy with Rape allegation) do you really think that Socity is learning a shit!
While watching I was really scared that what will happen with those girls... Actually i couldn't handle this kind of situations...at school time i left my classes because of these kind of guys... But now I'm enough brave to save other girls too...I don't ignore.... I just take stand
I mean this ended on a lot better note than it could have. The men could have shattered their bottles over their heads or stabbed them with it. They could have been overpowered. Numerous things that could have gone wrong. That have gone wrong with other women. This video perfectly captured what it is like for us to live in this society. How it is our fault for staying out late and not properly covering ourselves instead of those vile men who are no better than animals. Why do we live in a world where a rape victim is blamed for dressing provocatively? "Men can't control themselves if you dress like that." No. The thing is that they don't want to control themselves. They know that they can get away with it. They know that people will jump to defend them. They know. It's terrifying living like this. It's tiring to always look over your shoulder. Men have no idea how terrified we feel when we are walking alone and feel a man walking behind us. Why do we have to live like this? Why can't you just leave us alone. Why don't you understand the word 'no'?
@@jerry1309able Literally one should carry a gun just for that purpose. Or else... when we report to police, the government should sanction extrajudicial killing of that person.

Being a brother being a husband being a citizen most of all being a man I am ashamed of this and feel that it should be answered back very strongly
Answered! Do you know we are literally afraid of our lives everytime we leave home? How about you do something to change that.... And yes, not all men are rapist and some women also do abuse men. But dear, two wrongs don't make a right. How about you develop some empathy and do something good for a person in need, so that this stereotype will change???

Ghar wale hi asli zimmedar hote hain jo darna sikhate hai ignorance sikhate hai magar ladna nahi sikhate.
Tois Toi
Brave girl ....👏👏

Tois Toi zyada lamba ho gaya bhai..

Shocked to see 5.7K dislikes! How can anyone dislike this film - must be real animals and party to this ugly behavior!
Hell yeah !

No-one did anything...later on when the bus got a little spaced..one aunty came and asked us 'beta what happened??'
We shouted at her and said was she dead that time and now coming here thinking of her to be some angel...my friend was even more loud
Aunty said "these Delhi girls are so uncultured ..they arouse men and then shout...if I had a daughter like u girls I would have killed her with my own hands " and she called us 'bigdi hui ladkiya'..
Everyone was quit this time too..just like before..even the conductor bhaiya didn't spoke a word
We are very simple normal girls and were decently dressed with our akash institute's shirt and jeans ..god knows why she called us that
But we were really hurt..we cried so much ..that whole day I felt so strange and I didn't study anything (while preparing for neet every single day is important)..
I didn't tell my parents or they would sent my brother to pick me (I like traveling with my friend and this is first time I stepped out of my house alone for an entire new city and that too with a friend so I just didn't wanted my brother with me)
After that incident..it happend with us again..this time it was an old age man..and once an uncle kept his hand on my back..
I don't think this will ever change..
Some people do make a face expressing they are sorry for us or angry about the situation but never move an inch or utter a single word.....

Well the news part was hurtly true
Carry on?
u r right.
andilove18 "And what are the men and society expected to do?"
Men are expected to die younger than women.
I ask because there is some clear sexism in who murderers chose to kill.
i completely agree with you
Be practical, stop being stupid philosophical.

"Men can't control themselves if you dress like that."
No.

Girls you know what you also need to raise your voice ! Whenever you see any such things happening or if it's happening with you, get a lil aside and call the police right away. Don't be afraid of taking any action against these brats! Even if he has just said that ' yaar Kya mast hai yaar , maza aa gaya'! And I can confidently say this, bcs a few days back such incident happened with me and the guy 2-3 times called me 'mast' and stared at me. I all alone , right away called the police, I clicked his photograph also and after 15 minutes police was there , people around were there to make the guy realise his mistake , brutally beaten , will never ever try doing any bad things with any girl out there! And yes I am just '16' now! If I can , then you can also raise your voice !
I love my parents that they brought me up to become such a confident and daring personality!
Proud of u girl ❤️❤️❤️
When I was 16, I have no smart phone. So how all girls can manage to capture a photo of that saytan like man?
@@swati8375 Times are changing, smartphones are becoming more easily accessible everyday. And besides, that's not her point. Her point was that you shouldn't keep quiet, you should speak up!
@@anikasheth2297 behen wo in general baat hai.... But sabki situation alag hoti hai... Ap zada tar uss ldke ki coller pkdker ak thappad de skte ho, aur kuch nhi... And uske baad apke sath kya hoga koi nhi bol skti... I know times are changing but i am talking about 2016 not 2020. Mind it...
@@swati8375 That is also very true. Par hum kya kar sakte hai...At the most ladkiya self defense classes le sakti hai but such men will not change their mind so easily.
Every girl needs to be bold and strong.

I have a great suggestion. We should always take a safety pin with us and while anyone tries to intentionally touch us with his hand we need to use it right away!

हमारे समाज में ऐ सब हमारी सोच ,मानसिकता पर निर्भर करती हैं। घर के पुरुषों को भी महिलाओं का भरपूर साथ देना चाहिए सब एक होकर इस लड़ाई को लड़े।

ek baat aur, Josh mein, mere padhe likhe male friends/colleagues, in sab baaton ki ninda kar rahe the. Kuchh bata rahe the jaman badal gaya hai, Sonai Gandhi ki power ko dekho (really?). I told them, just spend a day as woman , you will know when you will be watched constantly, you won't be able to walk on road normally, you will be ducking once in a while to avoid men who are trying to touch you in passing. and all other things, every woman know...
What they said...
No No, we do not need to be a woman, we are happy like a man.
What shall I call this? Even in a fictional scenario, they cannot bear to be a woman. Either they consider women inferior or they accept truth about men.
Whatever it is, we women have a long way to go to get equal footing in society.
I was watching so deeply but I sudden laugh when her husband making tea🍵 🤣😂
😂😂
So cathartic. This is exactly what I went over, in my head, hundreds of times. Every single time someone crossed the line. This is what would play in my head.
Ms Apte fits in all roll.. . Bravo!
This one is masterpiece of all the "large short films" short movies I have watched so far 👏👏👏👏👏
Every scene in it, especially that chai nashta scene in the beginning and then in the end 🤣🤣👏👏👏
So sad 😆😆 ये हमारे समाज का कटु सत्य है ।ऐसी गंदगी समाजमें है उसकी सफाई होनी चाहिए।
woman power 💪💪💪💪💪
Being a girl , U can everything in this play 🤍...such a beautiful direction of film
