It's sad giving up something you have a close connection to.

I had to sell him in order to afford another horse. I am 22 and my single mom is a teacher. I couldn't afford to continue in dressage without selling him to have the money to get another horse. I had to choose between stopping my dressage career or keeping him. I had to sell him while he was still valuable enough for someone to buy and I had no place to keep him. I used the money from selling him to buy the two babies with the hopes of selling one to have the funds to keep up training. I used the rest of the money as a down payment on a farm so I could maybe some day get him back when he is retired!

thanks so much for answering my question! I wish you the best luck for the future and maybe, one day, be reunited with your soul horse

I put a no sale clause in his contract so someday I may get him back! I dream too.

Why didn't she explain why she made the decision to sell at all. That's why I tuned in to see how ud deal with that scenario. Not this. Oh well.

I had to sell in order to get another horse to continue my dressage riding. I couldn't afford another horse unless I sold him and used the money to buy another. I decided to get two babies as they were cheaper and I could sell one to help pay the costs for training and developing the other.

I had to sell him to afford another horse. I have only been able to afford one horse at a time my whole life. We got him at 11 years old and 3rd level and I brought him up. I had to sell him while he was still valuable enough to get some money for another horse. I decided to take the money and buy two cheaper babies and hope to sell one to afford to train the other. I used some of the funds as a down payment on a farm so that I not only had a place to keep Sjapioer when he retires if I can get him back, but to maybe find a way to fund owning more horses. I put a no sale clause in the contract with Sjapoer so that he can not be sold to anyone but me if they decide to sell him.
