Looks cooler than I thought. In the movie you cant see the details...,since its dark....I just noticed how the front wheel is only connected from one side...Looks cool.
It's a fully functional motorcycle with an engine in each wheel (2 engines altogether). It works the same as you can see in the movie but in real life it sounds absolutely different (rough and loud).
I thought the same as well, until I watched closer the next time I saw the film and saw that the two front tires of the Tumbler detach, whip around, and straighten out to become the Batpod.
@2000jago Wrong...read the comic The Dark Knight returns by Frank Miller from 1986 and you will recognise the dark and grim atmosphere. When the first Batman movie came out a lot of folks hoped it would have the same atmosphere as Frank Millers comic...unfortunately we had to wait for almost 20 years to make that happen.
its actualy amazing how the batpod works, for starters, the batpod at fird was hard to haldle, reason being the steering, so the driver had to use his sholders, she second, it has 2 moters in the sheels, and the gas tank is hidden under the bidy
@MRSRJD Just because they're not driving them doesn't mean they don't work... They filmed all the scenes without CGI and both the tumbler and the batpod were able to do all the stunts shown.
@DenniszVideos The Tumbler definitely runs and was driven into its spot by one of the handlers that day, which I missed unfortunately, but the Batpod was not fired up nor ridden by anyone there. Not to say that it couldn't have been, probably, but no one there was qualified to ride and maneuver it without having an accident, I'm guessing...
@2000jago I just types watches "The Crow" trailer and I must say there is quite a huge similarity, I never noticed before but now I see it so clearly!!
@DenniszVideos The Tumbler has a big block chevy engine so like @TheDarkKnut said, it can actually run.... and so can the batpod, it has in-wheel motors developed by swedish engineers for the movie, it tops at about 130mph
No makeup, sorry. In the comic books, his skin is bleached completely white, hair turned green and lips bright red from falling into a vat of chemicals. This is the most commonly used origin throughout the years.
@DenniszVideos Just last week I went on a VIP tour of Warner Bros. Apparently, the vehicle does move but there's only one man in the entire world who knows how to drive it (the stunt driver), and it took him 6 months to master it.
in some ways you are all right, my friend did costume fittings for Heath Ledger after he had finished the Dark Knight, He said that he based his look and character on the crow and clockwork orange, being a massive crow fan i reckon its not a blatant rip off but more of an inspirational homage/tribute
@TheDarkKnut The Tumbler has a big block chevy engine so like @TheDarkKnut said, it can actually run.... and so can the batpod, it has in-wheel motors developed by swedish engineers for the movie, it tops at about 130mph
The bike looks awesome, but you could have those looks on something that goes around corners. My concept bike goes round corners but I built it in a shed......
@bazengao Yeah, its designed for the movie not for the viewers. Not sure if you knew. Its not like it was just built to show it to people it was a movie prop. Also, not sure if you noticed, but its not a regular motorcycle. I doubt there are many people who could ride it or would know how to even start it. You do realize that "waste of money" helped bring in a few hundred million in profits, right?
@TheDarkKnut Me either, but Nolan aspired to produce a Batman that was more grounded in hard reality. Ledger had more rigid parameters to with with given these ground rules, but he deserved his Oscar nonetheless. For everyone that will say that Ledger's Joker performance was memorable only because it was his last role, I recommend seeing his performances in Monster's Ball, Brokeback Mountain and even Patriot because he definately has the track record to back it up,
@2000jago I believe both Heath's Joker and the Crow were going with the all-around clown motif, which sports a white face, a make-shift mouth, and dark eye makeup. That's just me though.
Actually, I believe they had to manually "shave" down the edges of the front tire, otherwise it would have been near impossible to maneuver the bike properly with the tires being so wide.
if i saw this as a kid i would be dangerously excited.
If only all arguments on the internet were this settled and mature.. Deepest respect.
They were on a promotional tour for The Dark Knight movie, showcasing the vehicles from the film all across the US and Canada.
VERY cool. Thanks for posting this.
Wow! Those machines are bad ass!! Great vid!
thanxs a lot for this vid
THE TUMBER AND THE BATPOD ARE AMAZING!
wow the bat pod look so clean cut and badass.
Freaking awesome!
Looks cooler than I thought. In the movie you cant see the details...,since its dark....I just noticed how the front wheel is only connected from one side...Looks cool.
Only argument on UA-cam that was Reasonable and both parties understood each other. wow
It's a fully functional motorcycle with an engine in each wheel (2 engines altogether). It works the same as you can see in the movie but in real life it sounds absolutely different (rough and loud).
very cool I was wondering how the bat pod could steer because it looked like it had two support bars leading to the front wheel in most veiws
It's fully functional. Cheers to Nolan for that.
i just love this bike..i don't know yet abt the engines and it's power however the looks are damn amazing!
Incredible engineering. Brillant!!!
@DenniszVideos if you have the darknight dvd on the special features shows you how they build the batpod and rode it to create shots for the film.
I want both the Tumbler & the Batpod, so muuuuch! but mostly the Tumbler
I cant wait to see this... movie... oh.
@TheDarkKnut The batpod works.
It uses electric motors in each wheel.
I thought the same as well, until I watched closer the next time I saw the film and saw that the two front tires of the Tumbler detach, whip around, and straighten out to become the Batpod.
everything in the movies is fully functional

now i know what i want for christmas!!!
@DenniszVideos Oh the bat pod really does move. The problem is because of the size of the tires it is very hard to turn.
I will like to know how much for one and where can i get one
that batpod is just SICK!!!!
you probably need as much space as a bus to do a U turn. And the square wheels probably affect on the balance, but c`mon, we all love it
its the best freakin custom made bike i've ever seen...!!!!!
чудо-чудное,диво-дивное!
i was thinking it took a crane to move..glad it doesn't. thanks for the post
its actualy amazing how the batpod works, for starters, the batpod at fird was hard to haldle, reason being the steering, so the driver had to use his sholders, she second, it has 2 moters in the sheels, and the gas tank is hidden under the bidy
wow this is one of the most classy arguments i've ever seen on youtube comments
the tumbler and batpod, this is cool man
@MRSRJD Just because they're not driving them doesn't mean they don't work...
They filmed all the scenes without CGI and both the tumbler and the batpod were able to do all the stunts shown.
apparently, the batpod comes out of the tumbler. it shows in the movie
I want a tumbler myself, and the batpod!
The stunt driver that drove the batpod said it was the hardest vehicle he's ever had to operate ^^
@DenniszVideos
The Tumbler definitely runs and was driven into its spot by one of the handlers that day, which I missed unfortunately, but the Batpod was not fired up nor ridden by anyone there. Not to say that it couldn't have been, probably, but no one there was qualified to ride and maneuver it without having an accident, I'm guessing...
i think the batpod is a 125cc motor judging by the tiny little exhaust
if you don't mind what is it cost and milage.
does it come in black?
the engine on the batpod was inside the wheel this wheel machine was designed by a japanese guy (or someone) that made this idea
awesome!
does anyone know if you can buy tumblers
@TheDarkKnut i agree. it should have stayed more with the books with the whole chemical dip but they did make it work.
wow I want one!!!
@2000jago I just types watches "The Crow" trailer and I must say there is quite a huge similarity, I never noticed before but now I see it so clearly!!
F1 tires for the bike??
how long can you drive with a full galon ? 5 min ?
@DenniszVideos
The Tumbler has a big block chevy engine so like @TheDarkKnut said, it can actually run....
and so can the batpod, it has in-wheel motors developed by swedish engineers for the movie, it tops at about 130mph
are they going to jump niagra falls and does it even run
No makeup, sorry. In the comic books, his skin is bleached completely white, hair turned green and lips bright red from falling into a vat of chemicals. This is the most commonly used origin throughout the years.
Looks like there is a gear to drive the front wheel as well - so it's a 2WD bike?
What chassis is the tumbler built off of?
The tumbler and bike is actully british designed, as no one in america could come up with the idea.
Yeah noooo one in America! *o•
is there a kickstand on that thing?
@DenniszVideos the tumbler is a real car, it did all the stunts in batman begins
really how do you
where can i found the batpod for sale ????
nice, i wish that it came to calgary
@DenniszVideos Just last week I went on a VIP tour of Warner Bros. Apparently, the vehicle does move but there's only one man in the entire world who knows how to drive it (the stunt driver), and it took him 6 months to master it.
@Darkkheart420 It does run you can drive it and they do drive it on set.
It's a remake of a remake of a comic. I think we're well beyond expectations of originality.
awesome
in some ways you are all right, my friend did costume fittings for Heath Ledger after he had finished the Dark Knight, He said that he based his look and character on the crow and clockwork orange, being a massive crow fan i reckon its not a blatant rip off but more of an inspirational homage/tribute
the turning radius on that thing is Pennsylvania
@TheDarkKnut
The Tumbler has a big block chevy engine so like @TheDarkKnut said, it can actually run....

I like it !
@AIRTUBEY BadPod is a part of the Tumbler ^^
do they run?
It's times like these when there should be people willing to do GTA missions in real life.
"Steal the Bat-Pod and clear your wanted level."
The bike looks awesome, but you could have those looks on something that goes around corners. My concept bike goes round corners but I built it in a shed......

DANG!!!!!!!!!!!!
how much? do u take checks?
yes
@DenniszVideos search up. Both Tumbler and Batpod are real and driveable and were driven in the movies.
how many BatPods are there in existence?
Does it have insurance?
but will it blend?
is that a sprint car tire?
I want that as my car!
is it drivable?
How could it not be ride-able? Batman rode it... :3
@2000jago I believe both Heath's Joker and the Crow were going with the all-around clown motif, which sports a white face, a make-shift mouth, and dark eye makeup. That's just me though.
WOW JULY 13th thats my birthday haha
@DenniszVideos it does run, not very fast but runs
Why was it there?
No kickstand?
Damn that engine sounded great.
For the toughest machine in the world on film, that guy was pretty nervous about it falling over!
how the hell do you ride that?
i thought the back tyre of the bike was the back tyre of the batmobile
is it street legal...can i buy
can those thing actually be ridden? it looks like the bike would be hard to control...
BUT THEY'RE STILL EPIC!!!
can you buy one of thoose bikes
Actually, I believe they had to manually "shave" down the edges of the front tire, otherwise it would have been near impossible to maneuver the bike properly with the tires being so wide.
Can one ride it or is it just a prop?!?!
It's rideable just how the tumbler was used in the movie. i don't think the wheels roll 180 degrees though.
