So guys what do you think about Dignics 05, Butterfly's most expensive rubber yet coming in at €80 a sheet? Has anyone else used it yet? Let us know in the comments! 🔥
This review is basically all I ever wanted to know about the new rubber sheets. I've been using Tenergy 05 2.1mm on forehand and 1.9mm on backhand for years to help give that better backhand feel like you were saying Dignics gave. Do you ever play with sheets that don't have the maximum sponge thickness? If so, how does the difference between 1.9mm and 2.1mm (Tenergy only) compare to the difference between Tenergy 05 and Dignics at the same sponge thickness?
Tried it briefly today from one of my club mates, I found it easier to use on the backhand then T05 and T05H. It gave me a bit more safety on the drives, it seems a bit slower then T05H which for me is a good thing for the BH. On the forehand I found it a bit spinnier then T05H, but again a touch less speed
So far, I have been loving your channel. but how come everytime you review a rubber it feels like a product placement/advertisement? There is practically no criticism from you guys about the price or anything else that is bad. This is supposed to be a review with pros and cons. Sorry, but id rather stick with the other dignic reviews even when they are not as professional as you. you are given test examples from the manufacturers and dont have to give back anything in exchange?
Precisely. Conflict of interest on this one [as well as others]. Other reviewers who've reviewed many rubbers, do not think Dignics is anything revolutionary.
This is review theys show and explain everything you take the pros and cons + How can they find much bad things when they test always the best rubbers lol
Many thanks Dan for the comprehensive review that you have made. Currently, I am using Tibhar Force Pro blade with MXP rubbers on both sides. However; I will be now switching to Dignics 05 rubbers on BH & FH, using Timo Boll ALC Blade.
It's super exciting we're getting more Tenergy level rubbers! It will be cool to (hopefully) see more variation in what the pros are using. Great video Dan, I appreciate the review, the hype has been ecstatic for this rubber!
Hey! Thanks for watching, yeah I couldn't agree more. Going to be interesting to see who starts using it, Timo uses it on his backhand, not to sure which other players are using it yet. I think Wong Chun Ting is... and maybe Harimoto?
I agree. D05 is a perfect rubber for my bh with any zlc blades. Great control, very spinny and importantly a very light rubber. Requires good technique and active top spin technique. Not made for blocking or pushing.
@@Tom_pr well, the point is that there are a lot of rubbers which are "enough" for the majority of players and maybe cost half of dignics of even tenergy with a discount... tenergy is admittedly one of, if not the best attacking rubber if you can use it properly, but imo a 20 premium just for having a little longer ball contact time is not justified, for that money you can also take 1-2 personal training lessons
80€? Back when I started playing table tennis I was able to afford a whole bat with that money... This makes me wanna switch brands again, just because I'm mad a Butterfly.
Xiom Vega PRO 28,50 €! or about 34 $ thats both sides 68 $, changing once a season makes that 136 $... nothing more needed with similar characteristics, dont let yourself bullshitting into promised durabilitiy of butterfly, that was maybe two decades ago true, but not today anymore
What does premiumness mean? Dan, I love your videos. You are super knowledgeable and seem to be a super nice person. When you make up words it takes away from your reviews. Just my 2 cents from someone who is a big fan of your content.
You think the price is right for it Dan? (maybe they lower the Tenergy and this rubber so all other brands have to arrange as well 😁) great if you have a monopol somehow...
3:33 Tom thinks dignics 05 is high spin but quite straight trajectory. - dignics 05 allows for easier blocks than the tenergy 05, maybe because dignics 05 is less spin sensitive iiuc. - at the time of this video Dan said he would use tenergy 05 on fh, and dignics 05 on backhand.
It’s so expensive because Butterfly need to cut their losses from all the sheets they give for free to Butterfly sponsored players. Which is pretty much everyone that plays professionally.
I use it on my backhand very consistent for looping and drive. speed is there and easy to control. you should try it. I am looking forward to try the new hexer.
Hey Dan, I love your videos, they have good insight on the equipment and it's specifics. Can I request you to do a review on tibhar force pro black/special and normal edition, it's used by samsonov himself. Thank you.
Dan, are you able to comment on Dignic's durability now? How does it compare to other rubbers/tenergy? For me personally, it's cost is prohibitive but this could be offset it turns out to be extremely durable.
Their strokes seem faster and it looks like they didn't have enough recovery time for the next stroke. Unlike previous reviews. Though the rubber is godly, for now I'm not buying any Butterfly.
Awesome review as usual, I currently use T64 boosted. And I am definitely looking forward to try thus one out. We meet last year at the Joola Teams in Washington, US. Will you be there again this year?
Dan, I thought you liked Tibhar's Evolution series, especially MX-P, better than Tenergy. I probably understood incorrectly from your review of the evolution series. With that said, how does this rubber compare w/ MX-P? MX-P seems much faster...
If I want to play mostly outside of the table ( fishing, looping, side spins arts, loping, crazy spins and defense in general) because I chop on backhand. Which Tenergy types you think is most suitable for that style? Regular 05 or 05fx or 05 hard or 05 dignics?
late answer to you, but i think you should go with t05, i am playing it on the backhand and i always find myself comfortably atacking from the back of the field to get near the table, also balloon defense is as relaxed as it gets from far away and easy to egt pressure on
TTD Tom awesome. Always find it interesting to see what people like you guys pick to play with, being so exposed to all sorts of great products. What is your preferred rubber on a 9 ply blade?
I have had the feeling with the dignic 05, that when there is humidity in the environment, the rubber does not have enough grip. Has anyone else had that experience?

I have dignics 09c on my forehand and dignics 05 on my backhand. Just like you said it does feel safer when using the 05 on backhand due to its grip/control, even its not as tacky as the dignics 09c tho. I dont know what kind of sorcery butterfly has put into this. LOL
Dan "forgot" to mention the super affordable price of $105 .....let's say you get a Butterfly Zhang Jike Super ZLC $440 plus 2 Dignics $210 ....you end up with a $650 paddle ....will you play better ? are you gonna beat everybody in the club ? probably not. Butterfly's products are not twice as good as Stiga, Tibhar or Donic, to justify a rubber to be twice as expensive as something like, I don't know, Tibhar Evolution MXP or Yasaka Rakza X for example. If you can afford it, go for it, but you will not play better.

For sure not a bad rubber, but for most players the elephant in the room is the price. I don't know what Butterfly thinks with such an ridiculous price. Outrageous. The "normal" Tenergy series was alrady expensive enough imo, but now 80 Euros for one rubber compared to 60 for the 05??? No, just No.

Whilst I’m sure it’s a great rubber, at the end of the day, if you take anyone who has to pay for their own rubbers through sponsorship(ie basically anyone who isn’t a pro or doesn’t play to a very high national standard), is it really worth the money? I mean, you could give Ma Long a £5 bat from sports direct and he’d still beat you. My point is that paying in the region of £90 (catalogue price) for a new rubber won’t improve your game anywhere near substantially. Whilst I know a good quality rubber is extremely important (I love Tenergy), I think people are going to get the wrong message from this rubber and will be disappointed when they don’t see instant results after shelling out all that money. If you can afford it and it suits your game, go for it, but it’s the hard work that makes you a good player, not the equipment.
