Very helpful. I'm up to about 15 sec. @58 yrs old. As a kid I thought I didn't have very good balance and no one told me that you have to practice practice practice!
Good video, I haven't seen one like this. I'm 50 yrs old. I got a monster quad on Christmas day an looped it on Christmas day hard.. I've got balance point decently now but I'm having trouble with tapping the brake. When I get this wheelie I'm going to shout out your channel on mine. Thanks for the tips
I remember watching you on Big Mike BMX and saw the video you are talking about when you where with your kids. I’m 32 and I started getting back into it also and learning the same as you. Keep pushing. You’re 50 and I’m 32. I love how we all can learn from each other no matter what age. I’ll be watching your progress videos also to learn. P.S I did wipe out like you and had all the air knocked outta me on day two. Lol
@@stevenjohnson24 that was tough recovering from.. I bet you wear a backpack now right? Thanks bro, I don't think it will be too long until I get the drake control.. I hope. What stage are you at?
@@ProdigalSuns I actually do wear a backpack now lol. I’m at the “feel for my brakes” stage. I can pop it up when I want but I’m still gathering my balance point. For me now it’s learning the module/tap my brakes and trusting my bike.
@@ProdigalSuns that’s the funny part because if you go to slow you will fall left or right. If you go to fast you can fall back if you don’t feel comfortable or know how to use your brakes so you just have to ride to test out how slow or fast you need to be. If you go “a little faster then slow” I know that sounds silly but try out going a little faster you’ll see it’ll feel easier to keep the wheel up. Also try not to chase the wheelie out, try to control it with your comfortable speed. Again I’m still learning but I’ve noticed those few mistakes with me and maybe that can help you out a little.
I fall sideways 😆 but after I’ve put beastmode tires on my PK it’s no problem-39T 17T cassette. My monster quad is 39T 20T cassette and feels easier than PK. My Big Ripper is 36T 16t freewheel and I can’t even get a lift off. What gear ratio do you feel is best for wheelies? How many teeth u got on ur sprocket/freewheel
I still gotta habit of looking down I thinks that’s my only problem cuz when I do tell myself to look up that’s when Ik how high (angle) the bike should be to keep it going
i need help with this When i pull up my bike i pedal, i go behind my balance point i tap the brakes and then i go to my balance point, but i get slower. if i pedal hard to get faster still the same thing (behind my balance point tapping my brake and keeps me slowing down) every time i pedal i go behind my balance point every time i tap my brake it makes me go slower, i pedal hard or fast i go behind my balance point and i tap the brake but i go slower i tried my best explaining so please somebody help me with this
I always watch these videos to learn more but i wheelie every day and put in so much work and all these i alrady found out so its not really the videos that will help as much as you just riding every day and learning your own ways/these tips
Yo how do you keep the wheel steady when wheeling cause I be getting g distance a lot of times sometimes when. I pick it up the wheel just and it's hard to control.
yeah, definitely keep that finger on the lever, but if you’re a tad bit below your balance point, and can keep it up with pedal power, you can try not using the brake
Quick question. I watched a bunch of your videos and I was looking at your big ripper review and noticed you went up two sizes for the freewheel. Any reason why you didn’t get the 16T freewheel? I have the 2021 DBlocks ripper and it came stock with a 16T and I upgraded to a 17T. I was thinking about upgrading to a 18T. Any suggestions? Do you think it’ll be to much? I think it would help me have a little more control. Or should I just keep practicing with the 17T?
@@stevenjohnson24 if you never ride your bike downhill/going fast, then sure, id upgrade to a 18 tooth, it will be easier to pedal, but speed wouldnt be your friend, always keep that in mind the more you go up in the rear.
Use your body weight more. Lean back and rely on your brake a ton. The more you lean back the more you will use your break the less you will need to pedal
The best video i've found on how to wheelie. Calm surroundings, not yelling, normal language, detailed. An all around good video.

Bro do you have tips to stop pressing the brake too much as well as keeping the wheel when it’s about to go down
fr when i press the brake i cant keep it up
@@xdzc1 yeah I figured it out try like a really small tap on the brakes just enough
I have a question I’m very curious about but as soon as you get up to balance point do you tap the brake?
only tap the brake if you're going behind you're balance point, which should be pretty common when pulling up
bro this helped alot man
How do I stop pedaling fast when I am deep in my wheelie
Use your body weight more. Lean back and rely on your brake a ton. The more you lean back the more you will use your break the less you will need to pedal
2:55 if I use more than like 15% of my brake I go straight down
Thx for the vid this helped me 🙏
Tilting the seat forward helps a lot to.
Nice tips

Good video and I’m only 11 and I am starting to get good
Good video
thanks
omg thank u so much

Honestly the way to get a long wheelie is by riding the balance point once you get that down there’s literally no pressure in the pedals
How do you find the balance point
@@mseegravy839 it’ll feel like pedaling normally and not trying to pedal hard
Good Video but im Always getting too fast and cant get faster
I can’t pull my brake lever with one finger because I’m weak
Go to the gym
im here for a friend
My current record is 16km and i definetily need to learn that one finger on the break
At the moment my problem is the position of the seat and handle bars i just cant find the good spot
Is it possible to wheelie for like 20 seconds at least if i got only foot brake
@@pepefy3117 yes but I think its way harder
