    An artist, sharing art, and how to do it, with people who are, or want to be artists.
    If this isn’t what art is about, then it should be.

      art is about creativity. if you follow a tutorial to make something, then it is not creative in any way.

    • @BanditGraves989
      @BanditGraves989 2 роки тому +38

      @@Xavier17.5 I disagree, my friend. In these hard times of struggle, with strife, and death everywhere, sharing your creative process with other people will inspire them to be creative in their own way, promoting an inspiration to create positivity in the world. For creative types, like myself, it can be a way to be like, “aha! I’ve never thought of it like that before…”.
      And for those just starting out making art, it might give them a sense of direction, either with what they want to do, or else inform them on what they don’t want to do. Cynics would say that modern art isn’t creative at all, but I disagree. No two pieces of art will be exactly the same. Not of the person creating it puts their heart and soul into it. Everyone has their own spin on things, if they really want it to.

    • @BanditGraves989
      @BanditGraves989 2 роки тому +18

      @@Xavier17.5 Please bear in mind, Friend, that I’m not putting you down at all. I just wish to share my understanding of art, more than anything, in point of fact, a debate could be a very helpful tool for us both to achieve a better understanding of it.
      I thank you for your input, and hope that we may have this little repartee a little bit longer

    Thanks for the terrific tutorial, and the great music.
    I am a 70 yr old total beginner. I have spent hours in front of free Daws and have no idea how to even start. I have often said I would love to hire a local musician to personally show me the ropes in creating music with a DAW. You did it in this simple tutorial. I think I will be getting the FL DAW as you have just unlocked the mystery for me in that environment. Better, I can repeat what you did to give me a start in working in a DAW. Excellent video. Again, thank you so much.

    Cool video, bonus points for using free stuff only. I'll have to say I kinda disagree with the "don't make the drums too complex" bit, I think both simple and complex work depending on other variables of the track. Also I find it weird that you didn't talk about adding swing to the drums or doing some sidechain shenanigans, I think both are simple yet important parts of Lo-Fi. Then again, the genre is quite broad, so really a lot of stuff works. Cheers!

    🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
    00:29 Choose *a digital audio workstation (DAW) for making lo-fi music; FL Studio is recommended.*
    00:43 Set *a slow tempo between 60 to 90 bpm for the lo-fi genre.*
    01:23 Create *seventh chords easily in FL Studio by using the scale highlighting feature.*
    02:34 Add *bass to your chords by copying the root notes and use a simple bassline.*
    03:55 Keep *drum patterns simple for lo-fi music, and consider using free sample packs.*
    05:16 Create *a melody by playing notes that sound good within the key of your chords.*
    05:55 Enhance *the lo-fi feel with imperfections like vinyl crackle and electronic noise.*
    06:57 Conclude *your lo-fi song or explore additional elements like a second melody or chord changes.*
