Linus "Tech Tips" Sebastian Reacts to His Top 1000 UA-cam Comments | Ars Technica
Thanks guys. This was a lot of fun :D
And it was fun watching!
Well now I absolutely have to go watch this Fire truck video.
I found your channel from, of all things, a review on a hydrogen charger. I was totally into it. UA-cam is mysterious.
As much fun as selling fake molecular scanners?
So from the video, I guess you aren't going to reply to this comment?
I think the RC firetruck was the very first LTT video I ever saw. After that I was hooked :D
I cannot remember what mine was. I think its been close to 4 or 5 years!!!
mine was the asus r9 390x video because my uncle was building my first pc, after that got mad because the card was throtling like crazy, since then i been watching them to build my own pc sometime in the future
For me it was the ar drone
XD
Mine was Linus's review of the original geforce titan. so probably 9 years ago.

I'm pretty sure it's just a meme. He seems so excited to review it, the production quality is absolute garbage, and it's a firetruck review on a tech channel. He tried playing up the tech aspects so hard and did his best to make it seem cool and interesting, so it became a total meme.

Twitter is shouting into the void, so youtube comments might actually have a higher hit rate.
UA-cam comments probably have the highest hit rate of any social media. Particularly on smaller channels.
There's a Yu-Gi-Oh channel I watch a lot, and I get a reply from the creator almost every time.

I once go reply from Linus once. I made the mistake of calling him out, using Maxine as a way to up views. He explained she is normally onset and it just makes sense, I apologized, In which he said it takes a big man to apologize. I still remember this. Still a fan till this day.

I'm so confuzzd, how is Max a way to up the views? She was a camerawoman/editor (I think).

10 years? I find your lack of faith disturbing
Oh, jeez, I hope not. Can you imagine how ridiculously overcrowded the world would be to be able to support 1 billion tech enthusiasts?
@@gloriouslumi While I do agree, when factoring out kids and retirees and such, getting to 1 billon tech enthusiasts amongst the, what, 13-65 year-old population is a lot, it's a fun thought. Imagine half of that at 500 million people. That's 1 in14 of every person on the planet - and not even half the population of a couple of countries on their own. That doesn't seem so crazy all of a sudden. I'm not sure I believe it'll happen within 10 years (I know it was a joke as well), that would require some absolutely insane growth, but on the other hand there are already channels at 100 mil+.

I’ve had Linus reply to 2 of my comments before. I feel like a legend.
Well, Linus, let me answer why some one like me likes to comment pretending that you'll read it. I know you won't read this, but that does not matter, because that's not the point. The comments aren't really for the youtuber. I do it for me, to vent and/or express my self. To formulate my own thoughts into words after watching a video. It's also for all of us, the commenters. Or at least that's the way I see it. I comment, but I also read the comments and I like to imagine that others that comment also read the comments for a bit, so I comment for the rest of commenters that may stumble upon my comment. I think that's why people get exited for getting a bunch of likes in a comment and some of them even come back and edit the comment to thank all the likes. And sure, I am addressing you, but not really, the youtuber is more like a catalyst for a message to the broader commenter base.
Well what do you know you've got some likes and a bunch of reads this is becoming very meta all of a sudden...
Linus should reply to this and ruin its whole purpose.
I love how Linus remembers details about his early projects and the associated comments, not out of arrogance, but out of passion for what he does, I identify a lot with that.
