I am of the mind Griffith should have been a woman (they would totally give off the Joan of Arc feel on the battlefield), and instead of raping casca, Griffith should have been jealous of her and wanted to kill her (totally obsessed with wanting to be the centerpiece of everyone’s world and driven mad by the one she loves falling in love with another). The events that lead to the downfall of the band of the hawk would be caused not by Griffith but by the prince that fell in love with her. She did not feel the same and would be punished for it. It would make for an interesting AU fan story. Totally fan fiction, I just think it would be interesting to see the golden age play out in a different way but reach the same ultimate conclusion of fate.
