    A friend and I tried to replace the tire of my honda shadow spirit a few years ago. He was following my lead and I really had no idea what we were doing. I had bought the same tire lever kit with the red pads on amazon as well as the tire. It was so tight that I wound up gouging the rim with the levers and I don't even remember how we got them to seat properly. We tried for hours using starter fluid and a lighter to get it to seat. I did not know about removing the core of the valve to inflate them, or even to replace the valves. Good video.

      Hey there! Thanks for sharing your experience with changing the tire on your Honda Shadow Spirit. It sounds like you had quite the adventure! Working on motorcycle tires can indeed be tricky, especially if you're tackling it without much prior knowledge.
      I appreciate you watching the video and taking the time to leave a comment. It's totally understandable that these things can be challenging, and sometimes we learn as we go. In case you find yourself working on motorcycle tires again, remember that removing the valve core can make inflating the tire easier, and it's a good practice to replace the valves as well.
      If you have any specific questions or if there's anything you'd like more information on, feel free to ask. Happy riding!

    I replaced my back tire today on my Kymco People 150. When I tell you it is a giant pain in the ass, I'm not joking. I pretty much had to take the whole back half of the bike apart just to get the back wheel off. I've done this before, but today was an absolute nightmare. The bearing in the swingarm refused to come off the axle and took over an hour and a half to finally come off. The next nightmare was getting the old tire off as the bead wouldn’t break. Finally it broke loose and eventually pried it off. At this point, I’m beyond irritated and flung the tire into a wood pile in my yard. Getting the new tire on wasn't as bad, but still fought me. I can 100% say, I'm never doing this again. I just don't have the patience to spend 6 hours installing a damn tire. 0 outta 10, would not recommend. Especially on a mid 2000s Kymco People. My tire of choice was a Michelin City Grip 2. I've had Michelins on most of my scooters and in my opinion, are great tires.

    • @VirberelloScooterTips
      @VirberelloScooterTips  4 місяці тому

      It sounds like you had quite the frustrating experience! Working on bikes can definitely test one's patience, especially when things don't go smoothly. It's great that you were able to persevere and get the job done, even though it took much longer than expected.
      Michelin City Grip 2 tires do have a good reputation for their performance and durability, so at least you have quality rubber on your wheels now. Hopefully, you won't have to deal with changing the back tire again anytime soon!
      Sometimes these experiences teach us valuable lessons, like maybe it's worth considering professional help for certain tasks in the future. But hey, you've got a story to tell now, right? And who knows, maybe in time, you'll look back on it and laugh (or at least shake your head in disbelief).

    I got a screw in my tire and have little money to get a new one!!! Tried to fix it with a rubber plug kit but didn't work... Don't know if my tire has a inner tube inside??? The rim says no inner tube but I really think there is... I took off the tire and I'm going to bring it into my work tomorrow but I'm a steel worker and really don't know where to go for a replacement one and or really how to fix it??? It's for gravel and snowy terrain but also smooth asphalt as well??? I am a new Scooter owner and just really don't know crap LOL... Thanks and ya, would appreciate anything that can help and I really like your videos and thank you 🤘... Been very helpful 😊

      I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're facing with your gas scooter tire. Don't worry; I'll do my best to provide you with some guidance to help you with this situation.
      Identify if there's an inner tube: Since the rim says there is no inner tube, it's possible that your gas scooter tire is tubeless. However, to be sure, you can take the tire to your workplace and ask for some assistance from your colleagues or someone who has more experience with scooters or tires. They may be able to confirm whether your scooter has an inner tube or not.
      Repairing the tire: If you're confident that your gas scooter has a tubeless tire, you can try repairing it again. Rubber plug kits can be effective when used correctly. Ensure you follow the instructions carefully and insert the plug securely. You may also use a tire sealant to seal the puncture. If the puncture is too large or the tire's sidewall is damaged, the repair might not be possible, and you may need to consider a replacement.
      Finding a replacement tire: For a gas scooter tire suitable for gravel, snowy terrain, and smooth asphalt, you'll need an all-terrain tire. First, you should check the tire size, which is usually written on the sidewall of the existing tire. It will look something like "130/60-13" or similar. This information will be crucial when searching for a replacement.
      Where to go: You can start by visiting a local scooter/motorcycle shop, as they often carry replacement tires and can provide valuable advice. Additionally, you can check online retailers that specialize in scooter or motorcycle parts. There, you might find a wide range of tire options suitable for your needs and budget.
      Fixing or replacing the tire: If the tire has a minor puncture and can be repaired, you can either do it yourself (with proper instructions and tools) or take it to a professional tire repair service. If the tire is damaged beyond repair or if you're unsure about fixing it yourself, you can have a new tire installed at a scooter/motorcycle shop.
      Maintenance and care: Once you have a functional tire, it's important to take care of it. Regularly inspect the tire for any signs of damage or wear. Make sure the tire is properly inflated to the recommended pressure, as underinflated or overinflated tires can affect performance and safety.
      Safety first: When in doubt about tire repair or maintenance, it's always better to seek assistance from someone experienced or a professional mechanic. Safety should be a priority when dealing with any vehicle's tires. Thank you for watching my video

      Hello my friend yes you can use the weight that are very thin and flat and they have a sticky side but you need know the exact location where to place then or you will never find the balance but I have a feeling that when you change the tire the tore did not expand the right way so I suggest to you to try to do this trick before you start to buy the weight so remove the valve core from the tire that give you the problem remove all the air from the tire connect a compressor to your tire without the the valve core inflate the tire at 55 psi hold the pressure for 5 to 7 second remove the compressor let all the air out put back the valve core and put the air in the tire at 38 psi and go for a ride and hopefully that will fix the problem because sometimes the tire if they are old they are not very elastic and they do not seat perfectly inside the wheel and sometimes you you feel that before you mount them you have to bounce them on the floor and turn them in the air like a basket ball for the tire to take the shape I hope this can help you and thank you for watching my videos

    I am trying this again, I have a 2007 Diamo Velocity 150cc scooter, I can’t find a manual. The tires that were on it are 130/30/13 front and rear, but I am seeing that some scooters have a different size front tire from the back.
    Is that something I need to adjust or just keep them as is as far as size is concerned?

    • @VirberelloScooterTips
      @VirberelloScooterTips  Рік тому +1

      Hello my friend some scooter owners change tires to larger or wider size but honestly for me there are several reasons why it's important to keep the same tires on a gas scooter:
      Safety: The tires on a gas scooter are designed to handle a specific weight and speed. If you use different tires that are not compatible with the scooter, it could affect the handling and stability of the vehicle, potentially leading to accidents.
      Performance: The tires on a gas scooter are specifically designed to work with the engine and transmission to provide the best performance. Using different tires could negatively affect the scooter's acceleration, braking, and overall performance.
      Maintenance: Using the same tires on a gas scooter makes it easier to maintain the vehicle. You'll know when it's time to replace the tires, and you won't have to worry about compatibility issues or making adjustments to the suspension or alignment.
      Overall, keeping the same tires on a gas scooter is important for safety, performance, and maintenance reasons.

    I did all this and my tire is still stuck did it melt together or something?

    • @VirberelloScooterTips
      @VirberelloScooterTips  Рік тому +1

      If your tire is stuck on your scooter rim and you've attempted various methods to remove it without success, there could be a few potential reasons for this issue:
      Heat and Melting: It's possible that heat from friction or other sources caused the tire to melt slightly and adhere to the rim. If this is the case, you might need to cool down the tire and rim to help release the bond. You can try using ice packs or cold water to cool them down and then attempt to gently pry the tire off.
      Corrosion or Rust: Over time, the rim and tire could have experienced corrosion or rust, leading to the two parts sticking together. Applying a penetrating oil or lubricant around the edges of the rim and tire might help loosen the bond. Allow the lubricant to work its way in, and then try to gently work the tire off the rim.
      Physical Interlock: Tires are designed to fit tightly on rims to prevent them from coming off while in use. It's possible that the tire is simply snugly fitted onto the rim, and extra force is needed to remove it. You could use a tire lever or other suitable tools designed for tire removal to help dislodge the tire.
      Professional Assistance: If you've tried various methods and the tire is still stuck, it might be time to seek professional help. A bike shop or scooter repair shop should have the tools and expertise to safely remove the tire without causing damage to the rim or tire.
      Remember to exercise caution while attempting to remove the tire to avoid causing any further damage to your scooter or yourself. If you're unsure or uncomfortable with the process, it's best to seek assistance from a knowledgeable mechanic or technician.

      Hello my friend many times when you change the tire you could have a new riding experience because your tire have a different pattern or the tires have a higher wall but sometimes you also have to make sure that when you replace the tires you check the arrow on the tire that tells you the direction of rotation and that is very important and you should have dot on the side of the wall of the tire that tell you the place where you should have the tire valve and that dot is the point of your tire balance and at the end for your tire will take 100 miles to break in from the time you place them on your scooter after 100 miles the rubber will set on your rims. Could that be my issue or could it be electrical? Again it’s brand new n ran great with all the panels off. Grazie

My scooter was stolen from me and I got it back it's a 2020 Amigo IceBear I have a mechanic working on it and so far he fits he fix the ignition the CDI box the carburetor in the spark plug and wire. The bike still will not start and he tells me somebody put a big bore kit on it and that I need to buy a replacement a piston kit for $15 and then it will start and also a new starter that he will supply does this sound right to you. The scooter only has 611 miles on it and he tells me it is not starting because the Piston is cracked and that it needs a new starter I feel like he is ripping me off telling me $300 to install the piston

      Hello my friend sometime when you fix a scooter you do not know really the problem and anything is possible but yes there is a possibility that the piston is cracked the only way to know is to open the head of the motor and see or have a little spy camera or check the compression I' m not sure why he want to change the starter unless is burn or you have oil infiltration but at 611 miles your scooter is new so there is a possibility that they try to start your scooter to many times and someone burn your starter and yes 300 dollars to change a piston is a lot of money if he is good and fast mechanic he can change a piston in 1 hr and 45 minutes so 300 dollars is slightly over price unless he include a nice piston or he will change the all motor head for a new one at that point will be an ok price Anyway thank you for watching my video

      @@VirberelloScooterTips thank you bro for answering me I watched most of the videos you have I found you a page maybe just one month ago this scooter mechanic comes to my house and after he fixes one problem he tells me there is another problem he told me after I fix the Piston he will throw in a starter for free from his shop and the scooter will start I am just hoping it does start and he is not lying to me I paid him $150 up front and I owe him $150 so he can install the piston and the starter if it still does not start I am bringing it to an actual scooter store because I'm starting to feel like he is ripping me off. He shows up to my house with four other people and only he does the work and his pants are hanging off of his ass and he has long gold chains on I tried to respect his style but not sure why he fixes one problem at a time when it is a new scooter

    What do you think about adding an oil cooler to a 150cc conversion to Taida 171cc engine

      Hello Mickey I have mix feelings about oil coolers and one day I will install and test one the reason is because you will have a lot more fluid / oil in your scooter but the pressure that the little oil pump can produce is not enough to keep the all motor protected so I think that the little oil cooler is a little risky unless we find the way to upgrade the oil pump

      No need for this scooter unless you scooter goes to a very high speed that is not going to happen with this scooter but if you place the dot that is on the tire at the same location of the valve the tire is more or less balanced
