Apparently, I'm a "racist" for feeling how I feel about edges so I'd like to settle that argument right now:
1) The swoops, swirls, waves, etc. aspect of laying edges is 1000% APART OF THE BLACK CULTURE... that's not an opinion, IT'S A FACT. And let's be specific and clear, I said "... I really think that is a black culture type of thing that I'd APPRECIATE us keeping within our culture." That is MY PERSONAL OPINION/ how I feel. If you look back on black culture and black history, "laying edges" is dated all the way back to Josephine Baker in the 1920s. Then continued & evolved through the 50s, 60s, 70s, etc etc etc... you can also look up what other races/ cultures hairstyles were doing during those times as well to compare and contrast. It's not a matter of me being "racist" (which btw means: "a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or who believes that a particular race is superior to another.")... I'VE NEVER seen or deemed myself (nor my race) as superior to anyone else. I'm entitled to my own opinion just like you, but I will not sit back and allow the misuse of the word "racist/ racism" and WHAT IT TRULY MEANS on my platform.
2) I think it's hilarious someone brought up the whole "...you would consider a white person racist if they were to bring up black race wearing straight long wigs especially blonde colored"... chilllleeee I'm so sick of this debate! White people aren't the only race that has straight, long hair. Again, that's not an opinion, IT'S A FACT. Majority of human hair used in wigs and extensions comes from INDIA AND CHINA! Additionally, in terms of "blonde colored" hair, if you really wanna go deep/ intricate you can google search "black people with natural blonde hair" right now and guess what will pop up? BLACK PEOPLE WITH NATURAL BLONDE HAIR that grows from their literal scalps. Hence another reason I HATE this argument!
3) "Showing appreciation" and culture appropriation are 2 completely different things. Hence why there's even a such thing as "boxer braids" even though cornrows have been around for CENTURIES, but I'm not even about to go down that road.
At the end of the day, again, I am entitled to my own opinion just like you and everyone else in this country. I have no say so on anybody else's life but my own. People can do whatever they want.

I order my braided wigs off Etsy. It costs a couple hundred dollars depending on length and any custom coloring, but you'll get a nice braided wig.
