We were using a mix of cut menhaden, and cut gizzard shad. They seemed to like them equally.

@@FishTalkMagazine Is bait even important when trying to catch catfish? They 're probably the dumbest, pig -greedy fish in the water; they would probably eat a dried poodle turd on the hook.

Have you tried them blackened? We found the blackening recipie at the end of this article fishtalkmag.com/blog/fishing-sea-bass-chesapeake-bay and then made into fish tacos was awesome. Also, bleeding and icing them good does seem to have a big impact on how they taste.
