Just went and bought myself an outdoorsman san mai like yours bud.i liked how you showed and displayed the knife and watching your vid was what made me hit the “buy now” button. Merry Cheristmas
Oops, my mistake. I thought you were the other guy. ... ... Nice review of a nice knife. I've been flirting with buying one for several years. The last time was earlier this week. I bought the Magnum Tanto XII San Mai instead. I've just never pulled the trigger on the Outdoorsman. It seems to be versatile.
Would be curious to know after you've had some time with it out in the field, how well it performs for kindling processing, batoning, shelter building, whittling, etc. Would especially like to know how that edge holds up.
If this blade had a straight spine, it would look better. That is a traditional style of blade. But that bone breaker spoils it. Still a nice looking blade! I have the tai-pan with a tapered handle, bloody lovely! I want another to put micarta scales on it. The vg10 would look good. I have the cpm3v tai- pan with a flat grind. The Vg10 is hollow ground, and would look nice with black micarta scales the steel for this is still made in Japan. They ship that to Taiwan. Thanks for showing ! Get a nice leather sheath.
Just bought my first cold steal San Mai Recon Tanto, how's yours been holding up since the video? how often do you need to sharpen it and what type or sharpening tool do you recommend for this blade?
Taiwan has some of the Best knife factories in the World , so when the knife says made in Taiwan it's a good thing , in case you didn't know.....🖖🗡

"There, this can cut, it can cut, this thing can cut,....cut, ....cut." I love it! Enjoyed the review!
Just ordered one! I have had the master tanto for a while now!
Use the back of the knife for "Spam" cutting
I own this in San Mai as well. Not sure why CS called it the Outdoorsman though. It looks more like a cool steampunk Japanese Tanto
Thats a nice looking knife. That VG10 steel mixed in that blade was a good choice.
Nice blade

Keep it up with the great vids. More Tundra videos please. Great content
Love it!! Got one on the way!! As well as a tanto in d2, and a leatherneck sf as well.
Great vid!!!!
I like that... and the master tanto
I would love a knife with a blade that shape with a high flat grind. Would look awsome! This knife is very nice though.
Very nice review!! ¿what do you think about this VG-10 steel? ¿good retention? ¿Easy to re-sharpening?. Regards!

Awesome knife, I've had my eyes on one too. Have you seen the Outdoorsman Lite?
