Brother, you are a great help to many of us that wants to escape out of the hands of anti privacy entities.
Although we most likely encounter in the future more challenges that invades our privacy, I am optimistic we'll manange to find a workaround of it.
I think you are right.
I could do this on my stock android device as a stepping stone on my privacy journey.
Why not using a degoogled smartphone right away? I reckon you first want to familiarise yourself how to backup stuff without relying on big corps like Google, Microsoft etc?
It certainly would work. However, the old adage goes something like "If you are digging a hole, stop digging!" It doesn't say "slow down the rate of digging"
I do not understand why you don’t use a usb c to usb and download all pictures from the phone to a extern harddrive and be sure the pc is offline and this is the way how i do it.
Really appreciate your work.
That works, too, but it isn't automatic.
Hey man! Didn't know about this!
I'll do my best and get a pixel phone. Do all the essentials to have better privacy on my phone.
Cheers, man! Hope everything's fine
GrapheneOS on Pixel is a nice system. Go for it. Thanks for watching!
@privacyproshop I'll do it! I have been watching your videos and also Veronica Explains video about GrapheneOS.
Just got a new tech gig, I'll definitely buy a Pixel device next check!
Dear Mr. Sutinen,
Thank you for this video, first of all!
I tried to follow along your video on an Arch Linux Box.
I installed SyncThing and ran the systemctl commands as you taught: they completed correctly, I guess, as they didn't print messsges.
This being said, there has to be a different issue as the synchronization doesn't start.
Can you help me investigating/finding what are the causes of the issue?
Many thanks in advance.
I've never used Arch Linux. You might want to search Arch Linux problems with Syncthing.
Thank you I'll try what you suggested.
@@privacyproshop The hiccup is in the condition triggering the sync, I have to dig into them. When in the "status" tab i selected "Force start ignore run condition" the sync process started. Thanks again for this and the other great tutorials!
Hi. Im swapping to GrapheneOS.
Is there a way I can get my contacts moved from my old phone, to the new GrapheneOS phone?
Yes - many ways. Export them either from the contacts app, or from Google cloud or if you have iOS from iCloud. Import in the contacts app. I have used .vcf files successfully
"Eddy sync"? Could you provide the correct spelling, as trying to search for what I heard you say is not yielding positive results...
EteSync
