  • In this video, we'll learn how to start parallel sliding and show a few ways to apply it to your skating. There's no real shortcut to getting good at slides - it takes a lot of practice just like anything else, but this exercise should get you headed in the right direction. Leave any questions you have in the comments and I'll do my best to respond.

    • @Rollerbalding
      @Rollerbalding  5 місяців тому +1

      I like rounded profile wheels in general, but that's just my preference. I use both profiles on different setups and wouldn't say one is better than others - It really just comes down to what feels best to you. 👍

    Hey, thanks a lot for these great tutorials. Im just learning rollerskating and i was searching for tutorials about this paralell slide. I watched quite a lot inclueding Bill Stoppard, Shop Task etc. but i must say yours is the first where i don't miss anything. So i decided i will watch all your content, as it came out to be the most understandable for me, and i realized you have very few videos. But i felt optimistic about new tutorials from you, when i saw that your last videos were uploaded quite recently. Perfect videos, they look very professional, and they came with perfect timing for me :)
    I am safely going at high speed, doing slaloms for slowing down, but i use T stop mostly and feel like i need to have a quick stop too.
    I wish you would also make a video about powersliding. Also going backwards is one of the main abilities that i lack, if you could just explain it in a comment how to master it, that would be great.
    Thanks for your answer in advance :)
    Regards,
    David

    • @Rollerbalding
      @Rollerbalding  4 роки тому +1

      Hey David, thanks for watching and I'm glad the videos are helping. There will be more videos in the future.
      In regards to going backwards, I think the biggest help is getting really comfortable looking over your shoulder. Keeping your weight over your toes and off of your heels is also important. Other than that, it just takes practice like anything else.
