Thank you so much. I’ve been into darts for 2 years and have still struggled finding my perfect dart. This will help a lot. By the way, I have a straight hand, long barrel and shaft, I grip the back of the dart and I have a heavy dart with a loose grip

I use Target 23g 975 barrel, with Cosmo Duralumin #3 spin shaft, Shape style flights, and 35mm Nano Swiss Point

Length off barrel is as important as weight

hey, i was just wondering about something. so ive been playing for about 5 months now, yet i still cant really get anything together. im uncomfortable in all 3 aspects (stance, throw, grip), is this normal? i dont know if im just a slow learner or something but its very frustrating🤣 im still hitting 9s and 6s when going for 20 sometimes

Everyone is different but you could be in your head to much, over thinking every aspect instead of just throwing the dart. Ive done the same thing before. Try thinking less about the 3 things you mentioned and just focus on visualizing your dart on a rope from your hand to the target. Try to just do what feels natural with the other stuff. Of course this is just my opinion from my experience. As with anything practice and repetition are key. Hope this helps...

seems like you have a very inconsistent release - perhaps try a scalloped dart (e.g winmau whitlocks silver) to make sure you grip it in the same area (ideally at the darts' centre of gravity) for all your throws.
Had the same issue, I still hit a lot of 26s, but at least managed to get rid of the "darts flying left right and centre" problem :) Finding the right barrell shape is more important than finding the perfect weight IMO.

Hey! It’s totally normal to feel a bit all over the place when you’re starting out. Darts can be tricky to master, and finding your groove with stance, throw, and grip takes time. It’s like trying to juggle for the first time-sometimes you just need a bit of practice and patience to get everything clicking.
Hitting 9s and 6s when aiming for 20 shows you’ve got potential; it’s just a matter of fine-tuning your technique. Keep practicing, stay positive, and don’t be too hard on yourself. Everyone goes through a phase of trial and error when learning a new skill. Before you know it, those frustrations will turn into consistent hits. Keep at it and enjoy the journey! 🎯

I use 24 not sure if its made for me. But the darts go in the board fine. Im darting for 4 months. I have an av of 40-45

Sounds like you're making great progress in just four months! An average of 40-45 is impressive. If the 24g darts are working well for you and your darts are sticking to the board, it might be a good fit for now. Sometimes, it's more about how comfortable you feel with your equipment than the specific weight. Keep practicing and see how your game evolves-if you ever feel like experimenting with different weights or styles, you'll find what suits you best. Keep up the good work! 🎯👍
