In regards to the first video, something I think is overlooked in Arthur's relationship with John is that Arthur sees John's situation as a life he would've wanted. Arthur was unable to be there for his wife and son because of his loyalty to the gang and he blames himself for their deaths because he wasn't there to protect them. I think Arthur's resentment of John goes deeper than just him leaving the gang for a while. He sees John as a little brother and hates seeing him throw away the things he wishes he could get back. The reason I say this is because if he was only mad at John for not being loyal to the gang, Arthur wouldn't have turned against Dutch and saved John in the end, he would've acted more like Bill and chosen blind loyalty, but his illness made him realise what mattered most to him: family. Love all the Red Dead videos you do, your stances are well thought out and very articulate. I mean as you point out he's always got his guard up and is very handy with his two favorite revolvers, so I just don't see them capturing him, unless he went off all hot headed in a town somewhere like he did in Strawberry previously. Just a thought, love your work!
Great video. Only thing that stood out was that Micha's revolvers are double actions, not Schofields. And its pronounced *Sko-feeled* Just trying to help partner
I don't think Micah had much of an arc because he didn't need one - his plan from the beginning was to get the Blackwater money. He knew Dutch was a narcissist and needed constant reassurance and fealty so that's what Micah gave him. After the botched bank robbery leading to Lenny and Hosea's deaths, Dutch needed that reassurance more than ever. This is what allowed Micah to leap frog over the increasingly skeptical Arthur. Up until then, Dutch saw through Micah. Knew that if he'd taken Micah up on his offer to go to Blackwater and retrieve the money that he'd never see Micah (or the money) again. He strung Micah along as he had something Micah wanted which allowed him to use him, but after the Saint Denis bank robbery and the events in Guarma when (IMO) self doubt set in he needed Micah's overt butt kissing.
Noone gives Kieran credit, he isn't the fastest or the most stable while fighting but he's quick minded, he protected the gang's camp basically alone, Micah was probably busy trying to see if anyone had anything he'd want to take. Kieran has also shot a man, who was bent over, with both arms in the way, right through to the heart. Using a gun that wasnt his and he was unfamiliar with. Kieran is possibly still the weakest of all "enforcers" of the gang, but hes still a damn good shootist for a horseman. If he and Sean rode with the gang to Braithwaite manor, it'd make perfect sense, both were united with the gang, Kieran choosing to be a part of it by chapter 2. Micah was at this point obviously loyal enough to the gang or more realistically dutch. So honestly it'd make perfect sense (if Sean didnt die right before this) for Sean, Micah, and Kieran to all show up to Braithwaite manor. Leaving Sadie who'd yet to prove herself fully trustable with the gang's business and pearson, a former Navy seal who fight me over this but was still holding onto that Navy Revolver and could actually have possibly out gunned someone LIKE Kieran or Sean to defend camp. Grimshaw dont play either
@@alexhodder4918 I've gotta agree with this one. I think Micah always saw Dutch as a tool to gain power and he never held any loyalty to the gang, or Dutch.
A tremendous story needs a tremendous bad guy. Micah is every negative title you can bestow on a human being... and the story would be nothing without him. We would not love Arthur if we did not hate Micah.
I wonder if he has some sort of backstory, like if his childhood was shitty like Arthur’s which makes him a douch bag in the game, or he’s just a asshole in general
There actually is Micah's father who was a petty criminal and a brother who only is mentioned by Micah as a weak man because he gave up on the outlaw life for his family also its said him,his brother and father when young would commit crimes together one is only mentioned in detail about how him and his father brutally killed a family when Micah was 15 (also a fun fact Micah's full name is Micah Bell the third since his father was Micah Bell junior and his grandfather Micah Bell senior) you can confirm all this on google if you want to confirm it (most of the info is in newspapers, letters and camp dialogue)
@@pelinalwhitestrake9306that’s what’s so fascinating about this is he much like John and Arthur have had philosophies planted in them. Except the latter had more morally right ideas implanted in them, Micah saw the opposite
I always saw Dutch's wanted poster as being proof Micah sought him out. To what ends, I don't know. Just Micah was clearly playing his own game of chess the entire time.
Let's all just agree Arthur in good health would out gun, out maneuver Micah. Arthur would win a fist fight against Micah. Micah is so weak that he can't even kill a sick man. Arthur even says it in the game. I don't hate Micah for who he is. He behaves like an outlaw from the era. However, I hate Micah because the guy was terrified of Arthur up until he got sick. The guy is a coward.
Micah was just a criminal through and through. He was a pure killer and already dead in some ways. No changing a guy like that. I enjoyed him in some ways. Micah was going to live till it was time to go out shooting. He accepted there was no real escape and that enjoy that criminal life till you hold court with the enemy by gun
17:10 really wondering how invested this guy actually is in red dead, since he can't tell the difference between Schofield& double action revolvers. Something literally anyone who's played the game can tell
I think in terms of Cleet's death it would've made a huge difference if you found him in a different state. You find him drunk outside a bar and I think if he was with that little girl he claims he tried to save or with someone respectable to vouch for him it would 've changed my opinion of him drastically. Because when he said he tried to save a little girl I just saw it as bs to save his own skin because he'd never shown any indication that he was a good person outside of his life being on the line. And as for the fact that he wasn't with Micah anymore didn't really indicate to me that he left out of being sick of Micah's cruelty to innocent people as he could just as easily just been attacked by Micah for Micah's pleausre and ran away because it wasn't safe for him in the gang anymore.
24:00 thats a no , i recently had this cutscene again after watching this vid ... micah was standing with others ... nobody was walking in the background
@@nonbasicz I wouldn’t necessarily class the girls except Grimshaw, Karen and Sadie as active members of the gang they’re more like swindlers than gunslingers. Also you do realise that John did get away he was clear until he went after Micah, the Pinkerton’s knew they could use Micah even after the gang was destroyed. They knew that if any remaining gang members Bill, Javier, Dutch, John etc knew Micah was in the area they would go after him., Which is what happened to John he led the Pinkerton’s straight to his front door.
One thing i don't get is why so many people hate Micah, but love Trevor Phillips. Don't mistake my point, Micah is totally a piece of shit. But at least he's straight up about who he is and what he's about. Trevor has this irritating self righteous attitude that totally doesn't sqaure with his actions. At this point, I'm so used to explaining to Trevor fanboys who talk about how "loyal" he is that he really isn't that I practicality have a power point of it. And if you add up their individual crimes, Trevor is clearly a more depraved and harmful person. I mean... I can't believe I even have to explain beyond just "cannibal".
Thing is Trevor is insane and crazy but he knows it. He mainly acts out of impulse whereas Micah is more thoughtful. Both are maniacs but Micah is more controllable you could say
And another thing you cannot belong to an outlaw gang if you and the people in that gang are not on the same page. And in the beginning of the game most of the gang was on the same page until it started getting a later into the game then you can see where there was a clear divided and I just think Dutch showed his true colors.
Nah Milton didn't think Arthur was gonna get away. He wouldn't have if it wasn't for Abigail. So I don't think he lied to Arthur about Micha being the rat
I respect Micah for being what the gang actually is. They’re all objectively awful people. Some change their ways and all are complex, but when you weigh their objective actions, most are no better than Micah. Arthur beats a sick father nearly to death in front of his family, robs and beats a man who can’t even speak english, want’s to abandon the German family asking for help finding their father. Not to mention the countless innocents he kills. Arthur changes his ways, and does show remorse. But I can respect Micah for being unapologetically what he is.
My biggest issue with the whole game is how anytime Arthur was challenged by anyone who had any sort of authority in the game he would sit down like a scolded dog. Which makes zero sense of based on his character, and how much everyone respected him at the beginning with the exception of Micah, but even Micah respected him enough to only annoy him and not challenge him
Huh? How is yelling “YOU ENJOY BEING A RICH MAN’S TOY, DO YA?” to an agents face in any way submissive? Also he only shakes the hands of people he respects, and he bullshits people who’re “above” him, like when he stays silent in the meetings with mama braithwaite and Bronte.
what are you talking about like dutch or hosea? he doesnt argue with them out of respect and he doesnt argue with other people to prevent any further violence
@@Adi-mk2lq he will openly call out Dutch, but then immediately back down. He'll tell the gang members that there's something wrong, and when they look to him to stand up as one of the leaders of the gang, which he is, being an original member of the gang, he doesn't do anything but sit down and shut up.
Clearly took a lot of editing and thought put into this. Being a new Tuber myself I am slowly realizing the work it's going to take to make things work on here. Still better than going to a "real job" for lack of a better term. But it certainly is work in its own way. But as far as the video is concerned I see Micah as a bastard yes, but he is also loyal to Dutch even as Dutch's mental decline becomes more apparent as the story goes on. In a way it feels like Micah was all about himself and I get why people feel that way about him. But he also did jobs and took chances that he thought would benefit the gang, and himself as well of course. Micah was as he said a survivor and he did so ruthlessly. He never really tried to hide that fact. He tried to manipukate Dutch a bit there towards the end but in the end Dutch was his own man and made his own decisions. Micah could only manipulate him if Dutch allowed it to be. There was logic to some of his arguments for sure. Micah is the necessary evil that is required for life to exist. If there was no evil there would be no heros in this world. There would be no need for redemption. So you see without Micah Arthur could not exist in the form we view him in this game. He would not have had the impact on us that he had. With every Yin in life there needs to be a Yang. We must have good guys and bad guys. That is what creates the backdrop for our lives and life as we know it. Yeah we all hate Micah but at the same time we need him. To see it any other way is to be delusional in my opinion. This was a good introspective video. Diving deep into any topic beyond just the surface level stuff demonstrates intelligence. I respect that man good job 🤜🤛 Liked and subbed 👍
Micah uses Double-Action Revolvers, I think you may have gotten confused due to his promotional art that shows him with dual Schofield Revolvers, but in game they are Double-Action.
Agent Milton wasn’t lying , Micah Bell was the rat in my opinion. Look he was only with them for around six months , Abigail has been with the group for years , if she was gonna do something like that I’m sure it would’ve been done earlier , and Molly O’Shay probably told also , but how else would Milton know they was even in Guarma ? Abigail didn’t know that’s where they was , but Micah did. No one knew they was in Guarma , but Milton said ever since they came back from Guarma Micah has been a good boy ever since. and Molly said she told , so maybe she did say something. It falls all on Molly and Micah in my opinion. 👍👍👍✌️✌️✌️
I love how hard this guy tries to justify a piece of shit like Micah without looking enough into the game, Micah is obviously working with Milton how do you think he got the Blackwater money. Blackwater is the HQ of the Pinkerton’s and they had the town locked down the Pinkerton’s made a deal with Micah, that if he weakened the gang and eventually brought in Dutch he could have the money and freedom it’s a similar deal they offered Colm O Driscoll. Also look at Micah and the outfits he wears specifically his white hat it stands out because it’s not a hat the typical outlaw would wear, in the days of the wild west a hat like that was worn by law enforcement. This was done intentionally by Rockstar I’d recommend doing your research into the game and the historical aspects a bit more. However you’re right Micah is a good gunslinger.
When you harbor such a raw, deep, and wholeheartedly sincere hatred, all you wanna do is make others fucking understand. If they can’t understand, you become isolated and lonely. So when you see micah, don’t get angry. There’s nothing there to hate, nothing worthwhile debating. He’s just a rat. So look down on him like one. Hating someone of such a low standing, is to place yourself much lower. No matter what they do to you, they’re just so fucking pathetic. It isn’t even evil. Evil is a complex situation in which good-ish people make a series of incredibly bad decisions because of their unhinged vulnerability. Micah was like that once, but now, he’s just an empty husk of a man with nothing but apathy and instinct this whole time. Dutch is a symbol worth hating. Whether it’s because of the gaslighting and murdering, or his ideals, there’s a point to despising his type. Stay attached to things, no matter how much that hurts.
……. FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU ok fine I’ll give this POS of human filth a chance. Fact is, as much of a jerk he is, he is indeed rather unique I have to admit. A lot of people may relate more than they are aware of. Micah embraces the more animalistic side of man.
Well ya know , snake venom is a complex mixture of enzymes and chemicals😂 its purpose is to KILL prey or disable a threat. Micah is such a good character. I fucking hate him tho
Hes got 2 double action revolvers not schofields
Great video. Only thing that stood out was that Micha's revolvers are double actions, not Schofields. And its pronounced *Sko-feeled*
Just trying to help partner
Micah treats u completely different if u have low honor almost respects u
No he doesn't but sure
6:52 Did you just say Larry Linton??
Grimshaw dont play either
micah was never loyal not even to dutch. he was playing him.
@@alexhodder4918 I've gotta agree with this one. I think Micah always saw Dutch as a tool to gain power and he never held any loyalty to the gang, or Dutch.
Bro pulled so much stuff out of his ass just to write this comment 😂
I really like Micah Bell. That jacket is lovely.
This is great and all but did you know one cup of strawberries has MORE vitamin c than a cup of lemon juice???
Is it weird that Micah is one of my favorite characters in Rdr2
No it’s not
56:38 *Arthur with an entire arsenal* This coal miner dude:
A tremendous story needs a tremendous bad guy.
Micah is every negative title you can bestow on a human being... and the story would be nothing without him.
We would not love Arthur if we did not hate Micah.
in my playthrough, he stood with the gang when Milton appeared
I wonder if he has some sort of backstory, like if his childhood was shitty like Arthur’s which makes him a douch bag in the game, or he’s just a asshole in general
His father was an outlaw and Micah grew up commiting crimes with him. His father probably passed on his philosophy to him.
@@Obanai-Iguro-15-9 I think he sayd about his past with family in camp Chapter 3 why he so evil
@@mantasunreal3273 bad upbringing and just being born that way i guess in his eyes its kill or be killed
Micah got bullied by Javier, Bill, and Charles. He didn't try Arthur until Arthur was basically dead. Arthur was like a bear.
Finally someone who doesn’t only have a emotional trash vision and possesses a analytical mindset thank you wise sir.
He showed a video of him walking in the background bro
I’ll add that if you believe the Pinkerton’s would let the gang live normal lives if they give up Dutch you’re naive look at what happened to John
Good videos that are this long are beautiful
Gawd damn it! I thought it was a new video!🙄💀
lol same
Pretty sure Micha’s revolvers are double action. Dutch runs the Schofield
20 to 40 hrs? Gotta bump them numbers up son!!!!!!!!!! I'm on playthrough like 40 hahaaa!!!!
i don't need to look too deep to know Micah's a rat.
Why is the beginning about a different game
no hate this is an awesome break down however, “his two custom scholfield revolvers…”. They’re double actions.
half and hour of video bout the rat? no thanks, i'll give my like and i go
Is the bgm in this video part of rdr2 it's really blissful starts @15:33 what's the name of the music ?
Ain't it crazy everyone hates Micah but when their family acts just like him they never call them out 😂
Honestly iny first playthrough for the most of the time I thought Abigail was the rat and not Micah
micah aint really thy complex tbh just a selfish person. dutch is the complex one
Micah's revolver was a double action revolver not Schofield. Pretty irrelevant information but I just want to point it out.
What is the name of the song in this part? 34:06
@@titustavares335 did you even read and are you capable of understanding what I said?
what are you talking about like dutch or hosea? he doesnt argue with them out of respect and he doesnt argue with other people to prevent any further violence
@@Adi-mk2lq he will openly call out Dutch, but then immediately back down. He'll tell the gang members that there's something wrong, and when they look to him to stand up as one of the leaders of the gang, which he is, being an original member of the gang, he doesn't do anything but sit down and shut up.
I would say rdr2 needs Micah, you need a villain and someone to hate
I respect that man good job 🤜🤛
Liked and subbed 👍
Micah means mother in Serbian
Micah had to be the snitch because how else would Milton know that they were in the Caribbean?
They got word from the people of Guarma.
But I still do think Micah was the rat.
micah's revolvers aren't schofield they're double action
In my second playthrough I lost all respect for Sadie in this moment. She just became a hypocrite ooh is no different than Cleat
My like made it 1k 🐐
Micah uses Double-Action Revolvers, I think you may have gotten confused due to his promotional art that shows him with dual Schofield Revolvers, but in game they are Double-Action.
Where was micah when the Pinkertons showed up every time? Think about that
Bro did you watch the video?
👍👍👍✌️✌️✌️
Micah is bar, none the best bad guy in video game history.
I am enjoying lol
Bro micha dose not deserve that long of a video. Also when I typed micha the adoe thingy did RAT
milton didnt lie, thats all
No he’s a great character but they should have let Arthur kill him
I love how hard this guy tries to justify a piece of shit like Micah without looking enough into the game, Micah is obviously working with Milton how do you think he got the Blackwater money.
Micah embraces the more animalistic side of man.
sorry but i entirely disagree micah was a rat from blackwater to the end

Well ya know , snake venom is a complex mixture of enzymes and chemicals😂 its purpose is to KILL prey or disable a threat. Its injected, and begins to affect the entire system in what can end in catastrophe. The snake gets a jumpstart digesting its meal. Does that make it a "good" thing. For the snake, yes😂
