One thing I wanted to point out with HDMI adapter I found out when I bought one that it's not perfect what I mean is it works great for Wii games and some other types of games but when I try to say use the virtual council for an example and play some games from that library I would do is get a black screen and I found out that it only works with the AV cable when it comes to that so if you do get one of these and you get a black screen or you can't see anything just all of a sudden that could be your problem too so even though it sounds like a great addition it doesn't always work with everything
The reason why the Wii is so amazing is because it's basically the big brother to the DS, so much nodding, but far superior graphics, and so. So many iconic games. Skylanders giants, super monkey ball, super mario galaxy 1 and 2, maters tall tales, and many others.

Instead of Mario Kart Wii CTGP, I would recommend Mario Kart Wii Deluxe, a mod that has double the tracks that CTGP has (480 tracks!) and all of the retro tracks! Here's the trailer: ua-cam.com/video/jGysZcX7bKk/v-deo.html
My homebrewed Wii all the sudden decided to stop working today. I pushed the power button and it turned green, but that was it. No display or audio came through, the disc drive didn’t even try to read the disc and never turned on, and the Wiimote can’t even connect. I have priiloader installed, but I can’t even load THAT even with the power button/reset button method. It was working perfectly last night. The only thing I installed yesterday was CTGP, which had been sitting on my SD card for quite a while. There was an hour worth of updates that had to install, but I’ve never had trouble with CTGP at all on my other Wii. I’ve tried switching different cords/TVs/Power Cords, nothing is helping. Any help would be appreciated. Hoping this isn’t a permanent brick and can be fixed somehow.
Just a heads-up, it looks like your Wii's GPU might be starting to go. I can see the telltale shimmering dots in the bottom center of the screen on the homebrew browser from 3:18-3:40. This eventually killed my original launch Wii, which I had to send in for a replacement. It's caused by WiiConnect24, which basically turns on the system without running the fans. You might want to think about finding a more recent one, like the red model. They run much cooler!
i love your wii content you should 100% do more videos! maybe a video on riibalanced mod for Mario kart wii would be a good video anyways loving everything ease continue!
I would like to try emulation, but It seems very complicated. Could you make a video explaining emulation to beginners? Just a recommendation by the way, I know how stressful it is to get a video out when you need to (:
You should make a tutorial on how to forward regular homebrew apps to the wii home screen. I tried to figure it out but I with crap and wiigsc but nothing made any sense. That could be a great tutorial!

The Wii U is Nintendo's best console for retrocompability of all time, because you can play Wii and Gamecube without emulation. And it can output 1080p.

Quick video request for ya. There’s this Mario Kart Wii mod called Mario Kart Wii Deluxe, and version 6.0 is coming out either in late-April or sometime in May. When it comes out, can you make a tutorial video on how to install it onto a Wii console?
great video.. i have an all black theme on my Wii dashboard. but you need to be careful when dabbling with that.. also deleted some old the system channels that ill never use. again... if you dont know what your doing you can brick it.
The HDMI adapter wont give you 1080… its still 480, but allows for 480i instead of 480p… so it still does something… but the ads make it seem likes it is an upscaler.. it even mentions 1080p.. defiantly worth getting though for $9.xx
The Wii2hdmi only runs 480p not the advertised 1080p. It should only be used if your tv doesn’t have compostite nor component connections. As there is problems with these adapters. The best option is to get a component cable as it allows native 480p without flickering or “white dots” on the screen
The Wii can't output 1080p doesn't matter what adapter you're using, you're simply getting a cleaner picture and upscaling 480p to 1080p. The adapters exist to be convenient for modern tvs.
5 bucks for a copy of your SD card files haha. I have my Wii homebrewed but I can't be bothered to download all of the games and applications. I need that Project M.
I modded my wii once, but i unmodded it because the rooms kept corrupting so there was no point in it because I would keep losing save data. I'm buying a couple games off my friend soon so I should be fine
Um actually you can use USB Loader GX for that as well so if you don't have any games for your Wii and your Wii is modded you can use Wiimmfi's private server on USB Loader GX
Kind of a late comment, but I'm thinking of buying a Wii for 10 bucks and get it all done with homebrew and emulators, and wondering if all is playable with the Wii remote and a nunchuck, like GameCube games or SNES, GBA games too
Man, this looks like a good setup... I only recently figured out how to mod my Wii to play Wii backups (I'd bought 2 or 3 Wiis a few years back, as they had non working DVD drives and we're sold as parts for $2-$5 each, one set of power/video cables, controllers, sensor bar etc cost more than the 3 consoles combined)... Are there any good recommendations for external HDDs or large capacity USB thumb drives? Or for any good tutorials that are a bit more in-depth than this video? Sorry for the long comment, and thanks in advance.
The biggest recommendation I have is to not use USB flash drives on the Wii if you plan to boot games from them. The Wii hates flash drives, and I've had no less than 3 just break because I was using them with the Wii to boot games. Only use a hard drive for booting games. As for hard drives, I'm not sure what the best ones are, but be aware that if you go for larger capacities you may need a Y cable to provide enough power for it to function.
how did you have space for so many wii apps? like the kirby tv, the wii room, the delivery and the others? i patched the everybody votes, mii contest and the nintendo channel and my system was full even though i didnt have a lot of other things
Thank you so much for this video! I got a Wii about 14 Years ago in exchange for another console i can't remember ^^' It was already modded back then. After starting it up a year i ago, i saw that the external usb drive wasn't working anymore and the Homebrew channel wasn't working too. I researched some modding stuff in the web after that and modded it successfully with Homebrew and the usb loader gx. It worked fine for a while. But since a few days, the usb loader can't read wii roms from the usb drive. Any ideas for me for researches? Thank you and greetings
I just recently got my R4 card for my DS Lite. I was thinking of getting a Wii. I had a Wii back when it first came out. I missed on many games because of money limits but also because I didn't know that I had the version what is GameCube backwards compatible... I was always wondering why does it has those ports on the top of the console... Back in those days you didn't had anyone to explain to you and I never owned a GameCube.
I have only trouble with the Wii2HDMI - Adapter: Flickering in the upper half of the screen when using 576i, black screen with only sometimes and very briefly a picture when using 480p, no image at all when trying 480i. It's a current Philips TV, tried with two Wiis, different cables, different HDMI-ins. Now ordered an externally powered Component to HDMI device from China. How that helps. And no, no trouble with my HDMI-ports when using a PS3 or a cheap Android box (emulation).
@@LandonEmma Maybe. After lots of discussion with the seller a new one is on it's way. Read of a lot of similar problems in reviews, though. Seems to happen a lot, they seem to have changed the circuits/chips some time ago.
I have nintendont myself and I've had a couple of games that just don't work properly. Thug2 ( Tony Hawk's Underground 2) and Mario Party 6. I'm wondering if I'm using bad roms or are those particular games just not made to work with emulation
My first modded console was my new 3ds xl. Sadly my mom sold our wii years ago and bought me an xbox 360 (this was for sure around 2011-2012) and I really don't want to have to buy a new wii for $150 and dont even get me started on how expensive the ones with gamecube compatibility are.
@Anton Retro What's the name of the game at 6:43? The one with the giant golden monkey tiki dude stamping the ground into submission in some sort of feeble non-monkey foot protected town. I really need to play this game
See, this has me thinking. There were a good few games on the wii and ds that could connect in some way or another (moving the same character from wild world to city folk, transfering pokemon from diamond/pearl to pokemon ranch, etc) is there a way to do this with a modded wii and a modded 3ds or is having them on the same network enough?

The Wii can't output 1080p doesn't matter what adapter you're using, you're simply getting a cleaner picture and upscaling 480p to 1080p. The adapters exist to be convenient for modern tvs.
I had no idea you could play WiiWare games without installing them as a channel on the main menu
5 bucks for a copy of your SD card files haha. I have my Wii homebrewed but I can't be bothered to download all of the games and applications. I need that Project M.
Project M has been discontinued since like 2015(?), so good luck finding it online
@@thepikachugamer it's as easy as searching project m mirror.
I modded my wii once, but i unmodded it because the rooms kept corrupting so there was no point in it because I would keep losing save data. I'm buying a couple games off my friend soon so I should be fine
I modded my Wii because I wanted to play online again ❤
how big should me sd card be? Is 2gb enough for homebrew applications, and a 64gb usb stick for wii games?
3:07 Shrek made me laugh🤣
Cool video i got a modded wii to.
How do I get this version of the usb loader gx? My version don‘t have the tap „Gamecube“ and „Wiiware“. My usb loader gx channel looks differnt too 🧐
Thats a cool Wii! However, how do you download unofficial channels? Im focusing on the open shop channel channel..
Um actually you can use USB Loader GX for that as well so if you don't have any games for your Wii and your Wii is modded you can use Wiimmfi's private server on USB Loader GX
Can I download homebrew for mods on mario kart wii still? I want to play so bad but I only have wii u
Kind of a late comment, but I'm thinking of buying a Wii for 10 bucks and get it all done with homebrew and emulators, and wondering if all is playable with the Wii remote and a nunchuck, like GameCube games or SNES, GBA games too
yes they are
Man, this looks like a good setup...
Good man
how did you have space for so many wii apps? like the kirby tv, the wii room, the delivery and the others? i patched the everybody votes, mii contest and the nintendo channel and my system was full even though i didnt have a lot of other things
Thank you so much for this video! I got a Wii about 14 Years ago in exchange for another console i can't remember ^^'
It was already modded back then.
Hi,can u pls tell me from what site you guys get the wii roms?🙏🙏🙏
That doesn't Happen to me maybe yours is faulty?
@@LandonEmma Maybe. After lots of discussion with the seller a new one is on it's way. Read of a lot of similar problems in reviews, though. Seems to happen a lot, they seem to have changed the circuits/chips some time ago.
Why cannot you get the normal wii component cable? Doesn't that do that job?
@@pepelepew2690 The TV doesn't have Component in.
@@Zerzayar I have component inputs, shall I stick with that or go down the hdmi converter route?
I have nintendont myself and I've had a couple of games that just don't work properly. Thug2 ( Tony Hawk's Underground 2) and Mario Party 6. I'm wondering if I'm using bad roms or are those particular games just not made to work with emulation
My first modded console was my new 3ds xl. Sadly my mom sold our wii years ago and bought me an xbox 360 (this was for sure around 2011-2012) and I really don't want to have to buy a new wii for $150 and dont even get me started on how expensive the ones with gamecube compatibility are.
Wii is so awesome
How did you get project M.? I've been trying to get it for a while now. Any tips please??
pretty cool
How I add to the homescreen channel stuff like USB or other apps from HBC, I dont find anything in the net how I can do it?
@Anton Retro
What's the name of the game at 6:43? The one with the giant golden monkey tiki dude stamping the ground into submission in some sort of feeble non-monkey foot protected town.
I really need to play this game
See, this has me thinking. There were a good few games on the wii and ds that could connect in some way or another (moving the same character from wild world to city folk, transfering pokemon from diamond/pearl to pokemon ranch, etc) is there a way to do this with a modded wii and a modded 3ds or is having them on the same network enough?
it would be nice if modding was as simple as plugging in a usb and you're good to go! as someone who isnt tech savy it seems like a nightmare aha
My disk reader stoped working good thing I home brewed it years ago I might need to upgrade the hack firmware
You can do the same + more with the Wii U. I did it recently.
Question where are you getting the games? How do I add say dolphin emulater and system games for that
all the roms are from the internet
Your link for installing Homebrew instead goes to the Reconnect24 video. How do I install Homebrew?
