I remember befriending Rajah a decade ago when we were simultaneously signing up for NR2003 and stop motion series & competing against each other virtually. Got to know him, and then drifted away a few years after. So happy to see how it's turned out for him. Good things happen to good people.
*story* my bad
Fernando Alonso said that the best driver isn't probably in racing, that has stuck with me ever since. so many talented people who never get to know if they're able to perform and thanks to sim racing they can put their talents at work
I know it's a longshot but this encouraged me to submit a inquiry with the Drive For Diversity program. Ever since I was a kid I've had a gut feeling that my calling was to be a race car driver. Like most of us I don't have the connections or funding lol. Man I haven't been so sure of something in my whole life! Wish me luck. 😅
I hope you get it bro
"John Hunter did John Hunter things." 💀
You know you’ve really made it big time when you’re interviewing NASCAR drivers!! LETS GO and great video the storytelling was great
13:12 I love that quote "John Hunter did John Hunter things. lol
I remember talking to him in the UA-cam comment section after his 2 crazy saves in the ARCA Charolotte race a few years back
great job with this little documentary!
dawg such a good video this is peak UA-cam
I’m pulling for Rajah. The kid has talent.
I always wanted to be a nascar driver since I was like 10 or 11 but never had any form racing experience. Now that I’m 18 and fresh out of high school, I’m still holding on to that dream by I feel like is too late. Btw great video keep up the good work.
Looking at Berry or Kligerman, I don't think it's too late
@@ming454 Yeah I do see your point, but I feel that money is what’s holding me back since racing is expensive
Love this dude! Rajah is a good kid with a good story and im hoping this is just the beginning of his journey
Very cool video, will be interesting how many more drivers get their start in sim racing. It's going to massively broaden the talent pool.
I Want To Be Like William Byron And Rajah Caruth When I Grow Up So I’m In The Rookie Legends Series In Iracing I’m Class D
Loved it. What an amazing story man.
I love the documentary’s u make thx
This is extremely inspiring 🏁💪🏼
Fantastic story... I love Rajah's sign off! 🤣He has wrecked a lot of people in iRacing! But man, for someone who came from nothing, with no racing background, and still to this day with very little actual racing experience to be where he is today is inspirational and I'm proud of him and happy for him. Keep diggin' Rajah!
This was really cool.
I dont really watch nascar anymore, but i recently got back into iracing and ovals and stuff, so i guess if i ever catch a truck race i know who to cheer for.
Awesome!
You should do one on Byron since that's also where he started, and he has one the Daytona 500
these type of videos r awesome, keep it up
I hope one day ill be telling a story like this
Man the editing was on point!! Loving the way you used Davinci Resolve to make this video
This Story reminds me of another racing driver, Jann Mardenborough
Love this video!
never stop chasing your dreams
This ignited my drive to keeping doing iracing and try my hardest even though I am like a midpack driver in iracing arca lol
great video
"John Hunter did John Hunter things"
best quote of the video
cant wait to see him as a champ!
Yee you have been fucking killing it man
Great videos man! You’re iRacing tutorials really helped me out and I’m now getting top 10s and top 5s in C Class!
Gonna start iracing when I graduate and grind to pro, hope I actually do some racing someday
this dude is my rolemodel i want to be a nascar driver too and think the same way
I love watching Rajah Caruth. I always cheer for the 71 Hendricks Truck.
He can do it!
Great video
As a 17 year old who has had dreams of racing professionally, this reminds me that it's still possible. Thank you!
I love this shit keep it coming
Looking forward for him to get a cup seat, i know it will happen
He'll yeah brother
I’d love to see him in Cup series. Hopefully a one-off race is not too far away.
I hope to get that way too (even my first game was Nascar '15), but I'm not that good at iRacing yet (I only got win in Street Stock at Charlotte)
Didnt even take 200 likes to get this released early, happy days
I wish there was wrc cars and stages in iracing. I want to aim to compete in the ARA rally series irl and could use as much practice as possible.
0:17 was taken by surprise cos he litty described me. 😂
i jokingly say i dislike rajah caruth cause he walked in front of me while i was recording during the 2024 daytona 500 but he actually seems cool
edit: not the daytona 500 i meant the arca race that happened on the day of the truck race
I really hope folks understand how awesome of a story this and how important Drive For Diversity and other "DEI" programs are in general. It's a very good thing to help underprivileged racial, sexual, etc minorities and poor folks that have talent get a chance to show it. Today's NASCAR (and world) is a millionaires game and that doesn't breed good competition.
DEI programs often are purely based on attracting 'racial and sexual minorities' more than anything, regardless of how much the people they're targeting in those groups are genuinely 'privileged' or 'unprivileged' or have the potential for skill in what they're doing, that's the often problem with it IMO. NASCAR's Drive For Diversity actually seems to be on the better end of that spectrum if anything, guys like Larson and Caruth came out of it. Still could be better.
@@kem0n0.kokomo Just be honest, say you don't like non-whites, and move on.
HIS RACING CAREER STARTED ON A COMPUTER!
Is NASCAR Ignite planning on coming back? I am 14 and would absolutely love if it did that would be so sick.
Love Rajah. He is a super good kid, and though we have had some heated disagreements (as kids do), I'm so glad to have seen him grow and succeed. I'm glad he has matured, and hope he continues to shoot for the sky!
play the lottery enough and you might win one day lol the tarcks n series i mean ;) great story
the real grand turismo movie
You forget about the two cup drivers?
Dudes will just see this and say Hell Yeah.
It’s me, I’m dudes. Hell Yeah
dude is putting out banger after banger, now to attempt to become the lowest rated pro on iRacing for the memes alone lmao. Road to Pro NASCAR here I come lol
Interesting ♨now 🔥☺
First comment. Ready for this to be fire 🎉
WHO'S CAREER STARTED ON A COMPUTER
Not going to lie, a lot of grassroots short track racers are going to find this path to nascar insulting.
Indeed. Imagine starting out on iracing and the only people that compete with you are now Coke Series drivers, and then you get guys that arent good and have to be taught to be fast actually get real rides. I can empathize with real life racers that will never get a chance.
Win more short track races then
Love this! Keep the DEI idiots away from this kid.
3rd?
He called Iracing a game!😡
Just playing, I'm not one of those 😂
I know why but i don’t wanna say it
Say it then lol. Rajah has proved he can win in the nascar level so go ahead and say it 👍🏻
Caruth did not get his start from sim racing. He got it from a diversity program
Its like the Jesse Iwuji story, except Rajah has a bit of talent. Iwuji is a grifter and it makes no sense why he stayed around as long as he did.
Every kid is going to do sim racing as a child at this point it’s really not that crazy. The whole “ VIDEO GAMES TO VICTORY LANE” aspect is stupid. You can’t tell me this kid didn’t have funding.
That’s exactly what I’m telling you actually, feel free to actually watch the video
