I totally agree with Sangeeta Bandapadhyay's recommendation. The government needs to start a rape prevention campaign like it did for population control on a war footing to work on this issue to prevent future catastrophe.. Deubo banir moton choriye dewa dorkar...
A wonderful episode. I only wish every human being would listen to it and understand it. So much was said that was needed to be said. Jodi puro episode ta shompurno Banglay kora jeto, and English subtitles deoa thakto tahole regional and national aro audience paoa jeto. What Sreemoyeedi you are doing with your podcasts and the Status Single platform is a revolution in itself. Lots of love and respect. ❤🙏
Goosebumps...anger..tears...all the mixed emotions I had while watching the podcast... Thank you so much for bringing forward such relevant topics to the limelight ❤❤
It was ranked thrice as one of the safest cities. Lot of women return home from work late at night. I don't think any city is safe for women in India. It is more to do with how the powers don't punish the offenders. In other states, they even garland them and give them important posts.
Cyber crime nie police r inaction is exactly same as Sangeeta says..I have had the same experience when I as teacher went to police to complain of a girl hostelite of our college who had been devastated with digital threats of rape..
Kolkata/wb was never safe for women. May be rape is not that frequent especially in Kolkata, but sexual molestation is very prevalent there. I am a 50 plus woman, born n brought up in Kolkata. I know what I had experienced since my childhood till I lived there. Everywhere - streets, bus, auto, train, office. Women remain silent coz they think at least its not rape. In a nutshell, no city is safe for women.
