I remember our theatre teacher teaching us a Yiddish song in 6th grade. I was amazed how much I could understand as a native German speaker and how beautiful it sounded.❤ so important to be kept alive!

It's so important to preserve your heritage, I speak as much Afrikaans to my children as possible, Alhamdulilah 3 of them grew up speaking it my youngest is learning mine aswell as his father's native tounge. We live outside our countries so it's important to impart these things to them so they can continue to do so. ❤

Your only mistake is that Yiddish is the language of the exile, and therefore when we left the exile in 1948 there is no longer any need to speak it, only Hebrew. Yiddish is 85% German. It’s not a holy language like Hebrew.
This is culture for cultures sake. If your view is that all cultures are equal, then there should be no problem in adopting a different culture. If your view is that some cultures are better than other cultures, then I would argue finding the least utilitarian aspects of a culture and celebrating them, is counter intuitive. It makes more sense to know yiddish than hebrew . If your mother tongue is Yiddish you will also easier learn dutch or german language .
