A while back, I found a deal on a USB powered salt lamp. While I like the lamp, it needed a repair. And I thought while doing the electrical repair that it would be cool to upgrade the LED lamp with a low wattage incandescent lamp.
And while I am already in my electrical panel, I thought it was a good time to work on my task lighting.

My name is Scott and in 2015, I bought a Ram ProMaster City to live in. Even though I didn’t know much about RV’s and campervans, I set about building the van out as a minivan camper. And in April of 2016, I moved into my minivan full time.
Over the years, I’ve learned you don’t need to have a big skill set to build your own campervan. And that living as a minimalist and utilizing solar power can be a less expensive way to live. I’ve also learned that a minivan can be a very comfortable home.
Please follow along as I document my journey.

I'm sor amazed despite your electrical knowldege that you have the ability to recycle or change this light.. Most of the time, people toss an item like this in the trash. For our world to continue we need to see things how they are and fix them if we can.

Hey Scott, yes I watched the whole video lol. I find your voice calming and relaxing. I'm not a coffee drinker but I even watch those videos when I need to hear a calming voice lol. I had people tell me how I should do things in my van too but I didn't listen to them either. They don't live in my van so their opinions don't matter. Have a wonderful evening ❤

I’m happy you switched out the LED. I had migraines and sleep problems (this is how I found you) with LED everywhere in my home. Incandescent light bulbs can’t be sold in CA so I have to order on eBay but I switched out all lights in my bedroom. They are so expensive now but it’s better for your health. Those LED bulbs emit way too much EMFs. Sorry I’m a neurotic scientist when it comes to radiation.

Hey good morning Scott. Waking up eary today so whats better than having a coffee and watching Mr. Scott doing some diy projects? After watching till the end, congratulation, it came out fine the new light concept looks more cosy now. Silly comment, maybe you could reuse the ripped out LEDs and the unused switches of your switchpanel and the (maybe) leftover cable to install the LEDs in new and different places and wire them individually to the switchpanel (or in two groups of two) to add to a flexible lighting system where you can switch one or more lights independently to match your mood or requirements even more flexible and reusing already available material. I have different single lights in my vehicle since a few years and really use very often different lights or groups of lights for reading cooking, cleaning or watching movies, just an idea. Thanks for your video and have a great day.

Great video. I bought a couple of Himalayan Salt lighted baskets several years ago. They claimed to also be great for pets with healing, calming and anxiety reducing properties. They did give off a relaxing glow around the area. They also blanketed the area in a fine white powder. Keep an eye out for that, just in case it is like mine

Sometimes, it's best to toss broken things in the garbage. This appears to be one of those times. Incandescent bulbs waste electricity, space, weight, generate heat, and can be fire hazards. A light that leaks salt water is a new one to me though. But you do you. I did watch until the end.

  • @anthonyanzalone

I've heard rumours regarding certain RV ers displaying upside down pineapples...,pink flamingos, loofa shower sponges of various colour combinations...even "friendly" lights festooning sailing boats to beckon folks to come and "join the party"!. Now Scott's warm, glowing salty lamp might be the next RV ers "adult" social "activity " symbol. Fortunately, swapping exotic coffee beans or summoning a decaf chat time soiree would be the kinkiest it gets with this channel 😅 Haha! just helping the channel with the silly comment algorithm generator.🤹

Another great video! 👍🏻 Thanks, Scott! I have salt lamps all over my apartment; I much prefer their warm glow to harsh overhead lights.

Hey Static,I also own one of those salt lamps.Mine is a little larger than yours but I've had it for years,my sister actually brought it from Hawaii when she went on a trip there over 20 years ago,and it is still working strong.I like the light it's very light and calming that i leave on at night in the hallway to give some light to navigate to the night time washroom visits.

After seeing this, now I want a salt lamp! I really like the low light and what their purpose is!
