Cassaday was the Kirby of the Planetary universe, I would put his glittering and grotesque alien technologies up against Kirby's blocky crackle-belching devices any day of the week. I was lucky to browse some of his original art, probably the most delicate and considered pencils I've ever seen. (And I used to haunt those tables!) What a loss! Rest in Peace to a true master storyteller.
I remember colossus giving Kitty some head and she was so stimulated by him that she phased down the kitchen where Logan was and his comment was priceless: ``Finally´´ he said and Cassidy delivered this moment so on point that he make comic history for me, definitive one of my all time favorite Xmen moments! Thank you John RIP maestro
This is crazy news. RIP John Cassaday. One of the small things that I rembered about his work on Astonishing X-men, was that he drew the costumes as they would actually fit on humans. No deep muscle definition and veins through clothes. And he was able to convey movement so well. I'll never forget that panel where Wolvie asks Pete if he's rested up, and delivers possibly the greatest "fastball special" ever. I don't know much about him as a person, but his contribution to the comics medium is pretty legendary at this point. He will be missed.
I think those later covers also reflect a different inker/colorist. Cassaday's best work, at least for me, is almost inseparable from his collaboration with Laura Martin. But what a collaboration! Together, they were *the* definitive team for me and Planetary in particular the definitive comic.
great video, thank you

Subbed after 3 mins. How is your channel not getting more attention? Keep it up bro, I’m excited to see what else you talk about here.
Well done
Been savoring Planetary again after far too long. I just wish I had a better motivation to revisit it....
Great video, friend.
