Going up North! | Nottinghamshire | County Durham | Van Trip

- We're off on a trip to the North of England! Being Southerners, going North is quite the trek.
Our main destination is Durham as Becky has a work conference to go to. We decided that as it is quite far we would break it up a bit and make it into more of a mini holiday.
We stopped off in Nottinghamshire just for 1 night, we were staying right next to the main London to Edinburgh fast train line which was quite cool. There's aalso a place called Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire which is really nice and would recommend if you like walking or have a dog.
2 hours further North is Durham, I had a wander around with Digby whilst Becky was in her conference although he didn't enjoy it that much. It's also quite hot so I don't want to take him too far. It's a gorgeous city though steeped in history and famous for its university and the annual regatta!

Great video. I find your travels in Britain so interesting. I have to tell you though, in Canada no one would stop and stay overnight during a six hour drive. I think it's because our country is so large. We wouldn't get anywhere if it took two days to drive six hours. Canadians would drive for about 12 hours before thinking it's time to stop for the night. Maybe you have the right idea though. You see a lot more, if you only drive a little each day.
You might be right, we’d love to travel to Scotland but the thought of driving 8 hours in one hit is just unbearable. I don’t know if that’s because of the roads or driving conditions I don’t know. The roads are usually quite busy and not that big so you have to concentrate the whole time, maybe you have wider roads in Canada or perhaps it’s just because you’re used to driving long distances. A 2 hour stint is plenty and we tend to swap it up as much as we can.
