A great shoe. Been a while since I have worn my pair but like you say it's comfy and great in the mud. It worked well for me in Brecon. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings Tom. 😎🤘

Cheers Ben. Funny how over time shoes can develop into the ‘classic’ status. Good to get value for the money spent 👍

I may have missed it, what are you thoughts on sizing? Thanks in advance

@@expatadventureturkey9324 For me these are true to size. I have a fairly wide UK8.5-UK9 and these shoes in a 9 are perfect, I can even just fit waterproof socks in as vamp allows expansion. The most comfy shoes I own.

I’ve got 681 miles on mine and feel they are done. The cushioning, although still there, is noticeably lessened, and the outsole is finally showing wear. All my other Hoka shoes are definitely finished at 400 miles. Fantastic shoe and worth the price if they fit your foot. Hope you are well Tom!

I purchased Mafate 4s 2 months ago, have done 29 short runs totalling 100 miles. Already on run 2 the glue on the front of upper started coming loose. Now, after 29 runs the glue on the sides of front upper is gone :/

That is strange mine have held up really well. I wash my shoes after each run 15 mins quick, 30 deg, 800 spin, no detergent.

How are these compared to the speedgoats?

V similar weight. I feel the MS4 has a far superior dual density Profly + midsole and better upper and aggressive grip. More flexible for technical terrain, a lot more comfy. Great for ultras etc.

Awesome. These or the Adidas terrex ultra 😛

@@jakegreenwood6331 Totally different types of shoes. 🙂
Terrex Agravic Speed Ultra for 50-100 mile racing. Lighter faster…Hands down.
MS4 for training comfort workhorse and maybe technical downhills. I have thought abt having them in drop bag for late stage ultras but shied away at last minute for lighter faster Tecton X (not as comfy but more speed oriented)

saying that, I did wear the MS4 in the Pippingford BYU 50 miler as it was all about comfort and pace needed to be slower to manage time until next hour lap.

Hi Tom. Great video. I am looking for a second pair. Where do you shop for yours (especially at those prices)? Thanks

You can run 550 miles without any problems with running shoes.
