Wow. I’m sitting her watching this and nodding my head! I’ve since been told that mine are more than likely related to my endometriosis. Thankfully I haven’t suffered since I went on Provera which has stopped my periods. That feeling of razor blades and that feeling when you’d emptied is unbearable!
Also had a cystoscope- horrendous! I’ll never forget it as long as I live! I still have that pain when my bladder is “full”.
I’m constantly on the look out for toilets where ever I am and have to plan where I’m going.
Thank you for this video it’s something people are reluctant to talk about it!

Oh bless you, the fact you appreciate the video makes it worth the embarrassment! As you say, it's not a popular subject. I've got Endo too but again not so much since being on Cyproterone and getting older lol. xx

I think you’re officially diagnosed with IC now, but everything you’ve said in this is all fitting extremely well with that diagnosis, doesn’t sound like OAB at all for quite a few reasons, but it’s ticking so many boxes for IC (I’m not criticising the title btw, it’s appropriate to what you knew at the time, but thought I’d say that this is all exactly what IC is like & im glad you got the right diagnosis now ) x

Thank you for sharing. I too suffer from bladder issues including retention, pain, urgency etc and have done so for years. You are very brave for telling your story on UA-cam and I am hoping you get some sort of resolution or at least a satisfactory way of managing the disorder so it doesn’t impact your life so badly. xx

Oh god Karen ... I’m only partway through this video and I’m already wincing. I’ve only had 1 UTI before but it was honestly in the same realm of pain as labour with a 9lb baby. I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through this ... *back to the video*

Every night my feeling of had to pee is a lot worse. If never fails it acts up every night and I have no idea why. I wake up every hour to pee. And not everytime is there any urine in there. I can’t use tampons any more because it bothers my bladder so bad. Also sex is a problem now. I am only 36 and I have been dealing with this for about 6 months now and I have passed every test. I know something is not right but they do t believe me

This is so familiar - have you tried Amitriptyline? It does wonders for me at night! x

Your story is extremely similar to mine. I am in agony and they are having me try two medications that take a month or more to kick in 😡 and if that doesn’t work then I can either have bladder Botox or a stimulator put in. And I had a lot of doctors with no compassion. People have no idea how horrible it is till it happens to them

This sounds like IC - or as it's called in the UK Painful Bladder Syndrome. V difficult to manage. Those sachets work by making the urine less acidic but are packed full of sodium unfortunately. Amatriptyline works for me, and when I have a flare up I avoid all acidic foods until it clears. Miserable. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this.

Thanks Kate - IC was ruled out many years ago thankfully but I do have PBS as per the title, Painful Bladder Syndrome (something different to IC in UK as explained by my Urologists). Amitryptiline is a life saver isn't it - I'm not in pain these days thankfully using the management strategies I explained in the video, it just means I'm not living my fullest life in order to avoid pain! Sorry you are going through it too :0( x

On the States we have a medication called Pyridium (phenozopyridine) usually given for UTI Pain and bladder spasms. It’s also used a lot for cancer patients undergoing chemo therapy as that causes a lot of urinalysis Pain. It has worked amazingly for me. Bladder infections mskevit feel like you’re peeing razor blades and this stuff helps. It numbs the area so there’s an odd sensation when you pee, but that’s just because it’s numb. Odd explanation I know but that’s the best I can come up with.
Not sure if this drug is available in the UK but you can always ask. Bless your heart! Of course I’m not a doc but it doesn’t hurt to ask!
